This gym is pretty basic, but for $20 a month, Im not expecting an extravagant experience. The equipment is not exactly clean all the time, but I just take the cleaner around with me (sprayed on the paper towels) and clean before and after I use the equipment. I use the cardio machines and the weight machines. They both do their jobs just fine. The cardio equipment is not in top notch shape, but I just use the best one available when I go. Weight machines have never given me any issues. I have only used the tanning beds a couple of times and I stand on my flip flops while inside because it doesnt look too sanitary. I have used the kids club a couple of times, but only with my 8 year old. I have yet to take my 2 year old. Kids club seemed staffed well (3 people on duty), but its just one large room with everyone together. The locker rooms are adequate. The showers and sauna work fine. Bottom line: this gym is pretty basic and it is not the cleanest. Just get in the habit of cleaning the equipment yourself honestly. The staff is friendly and Im always greeted when i come and go. For $10 (without tanning and childcare) or $20 a month, it is perfectly acceptable.

Hay muchas cosas que deben mejorar, para empezar el aire acondicionado, la limpieza en los aparatos, mantenimiento al sanitario y las regaderas. Cambiaron de dueño a principios del año y la única diferencia que puedo ver es la instalación de nuevas televisiones. Espero que cambien los aparatos que no sirven y solo ocupan un espacio en el gym. En la pequeña guardería que tienen hay muchísimos niños, yo en lo personal no traería a mis hijos porque sólo hay una persona cuidando a más de 20 niños.

Make sure you tour this gym before you get a membership here and look closely at the quality of the equipment. There is also a dried vomit smell eminating from the bathroom sometimes. I really enjoy working out in hardcore gyms without the frills or luxurious gyms with the frills. This is niether. Its a low quality gym with a coat of grime and the customer service is non existing. I have kids but wouldnt dare putting them in the daycare in that place out of fear of my kids contracting hepatitis or something. Theres no good looking women here and I get a prison gym yard feeling from the free weights area Low quality Gross Overcharged (if it was 10 bucks or less then its issues would be redeemable but cost-benifits ratio is waaay off) Feel like Im in a 3rd world countries gym. 5 mins extra to drive = worth it. No amenities No smoothie Plain and simple. Crappy gym and not rustic crappy crappy as in diahreah

This gym is a joke. If i could have rated it any lower i would have. Half the time i went different equipment was broken. Lady behind counter was rude when i ask to tan, finally got to tan bulbs are out in tanning beds. So i finally had enough and went in to cancel my membership they said to come back when a manager was there i went back 3 different times before a Manger was there. Told her i wanted to cancel my membership she gave me a form to fill out and take a picture of it and email to a email address, so i did and here it is 4 months later there still calling me saying I owe them $274. Lol. Never even payed that much the 10 months i had the membership. It was so easy to walk in there and pay them to get a membership but a nightmare to cancel. Seems like a SCAM!!!!! Be careful when u go to cancel.

I do not know why this gym has such bad reviews. 1. It is cheap $10 a month or $20 for platinum membership. 2. The equipment works. It does the job. I go and I get a great workout every time. No different than going to a gym where you have to pay tons for. I dont go to the gym for a smoothie. 3.Its a smoothie place across the street . Literally less than a minute away. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I have been to "other" $20 a month gyms and it looked better but I still got the same great workout. Its a gym. What do you expect? Maybe the front desk staff also is not that friendly. They could use some work but the personal trainers are great and affordable and there are tons of classes you can take as well.

Rude staff, rarely someone is at the front, and if someone is their just poking at their phone not caring about customers, Ive NEVER been greeted walking in. Absolutely the most filthy gym i have ever seen before in my life. Im pretty sure they just vacuum the floor and take out the trash before closing, and thats how they clean. This gym and Planet Fitness both have the same rates, but Planet Fitness doesnt keep their gyms like a pig sty. So youre not getting what you pay for their just lazy about keeping the gym nice and clean. cant stand having to go here....

I would not call the gym nice. You definitely get what you pay for here. The equipment works just fine and people really seem to enjoy the fitness classes. I have a platinum membership so when i went to tan in the STAND UP beds I got inside and realized someone took care of their "lady issue" in the tanning bed and left a nice puddle on the floor... After riding one of the bikes I developed a rash on my leg that lasted a good 6 months... Been trying to cancel my membership and it has been the biggest inconvenience Ive ever had to deal with.

This place has super friendly staff. Always greet me when I come in and also love my kids. The Kids club is important to me because how else can a working mom get in the gym. They take great care of my kids. So much so they ask "mommy can we go to the gym?" The place is clean and well organized. You can tell the staff cares that things get put up and thrown away. Even if all the patrons are not as considerate. I love the classes they offer. A wide range of times and accommodate every skill level. If your new just go at your own pace.

HONESTY. The gym is decent. Regular equipment. Some cardio machines work some dont. Weight equipment is great. Sauna is great. Locker room is fine. Tanning beds have bulbs that are always out. Classes are great. Kids ROOM. Is just ONE ROOM where they put 30 kids in one room from infant to teens......... thats my least favorite thing. They should figure something else out that works better for the kids safety forsure. Just a honest review of blast fitness Mesquite.

Wow what a scam!!! I signed up for blast fitness March 3rd. Ive been trying to cancel my membership for the past few day. I was NEVER told that i had to cancel by March 15th before they started billing me with the Annual Fee!!! I was under the impression that I had 30days to cancel so I WONT be charged for the annual fee of $51. I will NOT BE PAYING THAT ANNUAL FEE!! I will be taking this up in higher hands!

Staff is getting better and they have tried to "spruce up" the place. There are better clubs out there, even for the price, however I have been loyal since the Bally Fitness days and with my original membership over 15 years ago, I still pay a one time year fee that is very affordable and just not who changing after all these years. Hopefully a better health club will buy them out VERY soon!
