SEE UPDATE FROM 2/15/2012 AT END - ITS NOT GOOD Jeff worked on 14 of my computers (getting everything tuned up for the new year!) adding his anti-virus software to all of them after assuring me they would all automatically update just like my previous anti-virus software. This was not the case and I immediately had to install program updates on all 14 of my machines. This made me very upset (particularly when I found that this would happen regularly in the future as well) and since he felt I was being difficult he now refuses to deal with me at all. THATS RIGHT FOLKS - IF HE FEELS YOU ARE BEING DIFFICULT, HE WILL STOP WORKING WITH YOU REGARDLESS OF PROBLEMS HE HAS CAUSED YOU. All this happened Dec 2011 - it is now mid January 2012. Ever since he worked on the machines, our main computer has not been able to print more than about 80 pages. I have spent massive amounts of time trying to fix this problem but emails to Jeff have been ignored. Today all my other computers are also suffering from the same weird bug. Nothing has changed in our system except the work Jeff has done. ALL our computers are now unable to print jobs larger than about 80 or so and Jeff is unwilling to help. (Yes, I have contacted the printer tech support - its not the printer or the drivers.) Today I am forced to call yet another IT person to fix this. Beware - If you make him mad he will completely blow you off regardless of the problems you have as a result of his work. (He does have a reputation of being very good at what he does but who cares if he wont help with problems that inevitably can come up anytime new software is installed on a machine - particularly anti-virus software that blocks and limits in weird, hard for the layman to understand ways.) UPDATE 2/15/2012: Follow up: Once informed that all of my computers are having printing issues except the one that we uninstalled his software from and that no-one seems to be able to fix it, Jeffs response: “You should have thought of that before you were so rude to me… I’m not going to be able to help you with that.” And hung up on me.

So what computer repair shop that you know of that requests the customer of the following items... an external hard drive and cables. Well this one, you would think he would have it on hand as part of his repairing equipment. Then when it states clearly that the store is open on Saturday... and no one answers the phone all day? Back to the external hard drive... well it crashed and i totally contribute it to him opening it up...I had never opened the drive before and he needed to? He did offer to look at it... well I have ZERO confidence that he could fix it... so I did my own diagnostic and it had locked up. As to our sons computer: he found that the board had overheated and needing replacement.... so he only charge only the low cost evaluation fee. So in the future - if have a computer repair shop ask you to supply parts... RUN AWAY from them.

In 25 years, this is absolutely the WORST computer repair experience of my life. I brought in my Toshiba Laptop simply to get the fan replaced. I paid $125 and walked out with a broken computer, unknown to me that the volume wheel was missing. This is a BIG DEAL to me, so I thought to myself, "...no problem - just take it back and he will replace it". WRONG. He apparently lost it and told me I would just have to "live without it". I was livid. He tried to make it look as if I was to blame because he had to "practically pry it apart and that it was "stuck shut" in places. Really? It was opened 1.5 years ago for a hard drive replacement. So apparently he did a "hatchet job" opening it, and that is when he lost the wheel. FAST service? Six days the first time in. I DO NOT SEE HOW THIS SHOP STAYS IN BUSINESS.

There should be clear communication about the cost of work before the work is done. I was told diagnostic was free and was offered to have my hard drive transferred to my own external hard drive. So I brought it in thinking it was a courtesy measure since they couldnt do anything to fix my computer, and was not told there would be a charge. But when I picked up the computer I was charged $100. They were nice about it and willing to work with me but theyre should have been clear communication to begin with.

I had to comment on a great experience getting my 7yr old laptop repaired! I thought for sure I would have to replace it, but Jeff got it running great, AND I was able to pick it up the SAME DAY! He loaded a solid anti-virus software program which is WAY better than the McAfee and Norton stuff. Hopefully good to go for another 7 ! :0)
