We decided to give Los Cucos a try yesterday. We are fairly new to New Braunfels and always looking for good Mexican food. The parking lot always looks fairly crowded so it seemed the place to go. Wrong. We expected there would be a wait due to the Sunday after church crowd so settled in for our 20 minute wait. It was more like a 30 minute wait but again, we were forgiving due to Sunday lunch rush. After being seated and placing our order we waited...and waited...and waited...and then the "entertainment" started in the form of a cockroach climbing on the wall next to our table. Not content to act alone he/she invited a friend to join in the fun! As this little fellow raced across the table towards my husband we decided this probably was NOT the kind of place we wanted to eat. Being the polite people our mamas raised us to be we went to the front desk and informed the young woman we would not be staying for our meal due to the entertainment but needed to pay for our iced teas. The rather flustered young woman turned to another server and explained the situation to her. After much hand wringing we were asked if we would like to speak to the manager....ummm...why, was he going to do the La Cucaracha and summon all the roaches out of the place??? I see that there are some good reviews on their food but with that kind of infestation I dont think I would take my chances. Will not be going back.

Seems run down. Food is horrible unless you like "fake," food. Bar was terrible. Sat for almost 10mins before someone asked for our drink order. There was only one tv on at the bar. Asked to change the channel for a specific game and was told they would but never did. Bar tenders were too busy gossiping and talking amongst other employees and was not paying attention to customers. Waited almost 20 mins before I had to ask for my check even though my glass had been empty for 30mins. No one asked if I wanted another drink, because I did but we decided to spend our money elsewhere. Never going back.

We went in at 9:05 after spending the day at Schlitterbaun. They let us know they closed at 9. They were less than friendly about it. We asked could we please get green sauce to go because this chain has the best. They told us they already put it up, and also told us it was gone. I feel their customer service was not up to par with their sister resteraunts in Houston. NOT TO MENTION LYING IS NEVER COOL.

This place has really improved over the last year. Cleaner, better menu, food, service! For me, the exceptional part was their attention to ingredients regarding my gluten intolerance and wheat allergy. The manager voluntarily made sure our food was prepared without cross contamination and with gluten-free ingredients. I like the feeling of trust for some good Mexican food when I crave it. Thumbs up!

Decent Mexican food, but there arent a lot of vegetarian options. This is definitely more traditional Mexican food and not your typical Tex Mex. If you love traditional Mexican food that is known for its sauces, then you will like Los Cucos. However, if you want something more typical of Tex Mex, known for its freshness and spices, this may not be the restaurant for you.

The offerings at Los Cucos are some of the more unique around this area, mixing local favorites like sausage along with grilled beef/chicken fajitas. Food is well prepared, tasty, and reasonably priced for the quantity served. On this particular day service was slow considering the restaurant was barely 1/4 full. Overall it was a positive, if a little slow, experience.

This was my first visit and it was pleasant. The table was wobbly but our waitresses fixed it. We got our food fairly fast and the portions where very large. It took awhile to get someones attention to pay our bill. It would have been nice if I could have gotten another glass if water during our meal. Not super attentive but the overall experience was okay.

I came here by accident, but was very happy I stayed. Service was very good, and the food was extremely tasty. In fact, the Carnitas Michoacan was probably one of my favorite carnitas dishes Ive ever had. Definitely enjoyed the green salsa with the chips as well. Lunch time waits are much less than some of the other local options too. Give it a try!

This restaurant has changed in appearance and food. The green sauce is good and the red sauce is tolerable. We had the fajitas for two. It was $$. It really wasnt very good this time. The beef fajitas tasted different not in a good way. The chicken fajitas were oddly colored but the taste was tolerable. Not a good visit this time.

Food tasted fantastic, large selection with unique items not found elsewhere....such as stuffed avocados and flour tortilla chips. Food did take a little longer than usual to come out. The service was impeccable. The restaurant was clean with a family atmosphere and casual dress. Can acomodate large groups/parties.

A must, if you are in New Braunfels! The food was delish! I ordered a chile relleno, but it wasnt as good as I expected. Everyone else was pleased with their entrée. My daughter LOVED their flour tortillas!! So much, that she requested we pick up a few dozen on our way back to AZ!!

Today was a 1 star. ZAC was a terrible waiter.. he forgot to put in our order of queso.. he also forgot my chilli with meat topping on my enchiladas. The bartender forgot to add strawberry to my strawberry Margarita. Maybe next time my visit will be better..

Found Los Cucos about four years ago. I come at least twice a month now. I can literally close my eyes and point to anything on the menu and be pleasantly surprised. I live 30 miles away and look for a reason to come to New Braunfels at mealtime!!

I got here at 11am Sunday and they no longer serve breakfast. Strike 1. We have been sitting for 45 minutes and still have no food. Props to the chips guy. He is on point. Dont come here on a Sunday. They dont seem to be staffed to handle it.

We used to love this place, but after trying to visit today and the customer service was horrible we will never visit again. There was like 10 open tables and they said there was a wait to set a table, after 10 min. Of being ignored we left!

There are alot of unique choices, as well as your traditional meals. The fried stuffed avocado was delicious and the beef fajita enchiladas were perfect. The seasoning of the rice seemed odd but it was still edible. Will definitely go back!
