I had a leaking drain pipe and called Austin Area Plumbing and Drain out to my home to repair it on Sept 29th to fix it. When the plumber started to work, he was in a hurry and carelessly damaged another drain pipe with a power saw. I witnessed him do it and he said that he just nicked it and it won’t leak. I looked at it and it was clearly through the pipe, so we tested it and it leaked very badly. He patched the pvc pipe with putty, and it no longer leaked. I told him I was very concerned with the longevity of that type of repair. He then went on to repair the original leaking pipe. Finished the job, but at the time did not test it. I paid him and told him that I was upset with the other damage he caused, and had him write on the receipt what he had done. We used the (drain that we had initially called him out to repair) the following day and it gushed water instead of just leaking. This caused damage our drywall and ceiling. I called them back and told the lady on the phone what happened, she was very nice about it and said they would send him back out to fix it as soon as they were available. I requested they send someone else out because I was upset that the first plumber being careless. She said she understood, said no problem, and said she would send out their best guy and apprentice to take a look. I asked if I would have to pay again and she said that I probably shouldn’t have to and they would see what they could do when the new plumber takes a look. The new plumber John and his apprentice came out on Oct 3. They were very nice guys and also very understanding, they too believed the first plumber should have tested it before charging me and saying it was fixed. They considered repairing the damage caused by the first plumber a better way, but the spot the power saw had damaged was in area that would require cutting out large portions of other walls and ceiling. He said to hold off and if it that repair starts to leak they would come back out and tackle it. John said he would have to charge me for his time. I replied that I had already paid for it to be fixed and the first plumber made it much worse. He said he totally understood, but I would have to call to get the office to ask to get the first charge refunded. And that he had to collect for his work. He even said the boss would be upset about the first guys work and especially not testing it. I signed off for having him fix it with the expectation of having my initial payment refunded fully or even partially applied to John’s work. John fixed the pipe and it has not leaked. I called and talked to the owner and explained what happened, he sounded understanding, and told me to call the office manager the next business day and work something out. I thought this was going to be fine. I called and left messages and no one returned my calls or ever answered calls from my number. I felt it was very unfair to effectively charge me twice for the same job, without returning my calls to say why they wouldn’t refund it. This was upsetting, and I was tired of calling. I felt taken advantage of, so I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card company. It was my first time disputing a charge with a credit card and was not able to have someone to give a second opinion per CC requirement, it would have just cost me more money than the amount disputed. So, Austin Area Plumbing and Drain won the dispute and were paid in full for both bills. Even though I thought John and his helper were great and the lady in the office was understanding, due to all of careless extra expensive damages to our home from the power saw and first attempt at fixing the issue causing much more water damage, and that I feel that I was unfairly charged for the same job twice, I can not recommend using this company or give them a positive review.

Well, hot damn. I wish every business was run this well with the same caliber of people. Wow. I recently bought a fixer-upper of a home and been working with a number of contractors and sub contractors, electricians and plumbers, etc. Austin Area Plumbing is the first company I have been wow-ed by. The admin, Amanda, is super friendly and even remembered me from the last time I called them two months ago. Scheduling was easy, and they do same day service. Im not sure I want to tell anyone about Pierre for fear that hell be too busy to take my calls, but that man is all good things. He called 30 minutes ahead of the appointment to let me know he was on his way. Amanda had said he would be there between 9am and 11am. He was there at 9am on the dot. Hes courteous and is really good at explaining/teaching, doesnt upcharge for anything, always looking to save me money, and really fun to chat with all around! Pierre is my plumber for life. They just moved into larger offices and are expanding into all areas of home repair and remodeling. Their prices are super fair and its a really well run operation. They have built their business on doing good work, and they are growing quickly because of it.

Austin Area Plumbing is the best. Their man, Eddie Pollack, is top notch. His professionalism, knowledge and personality illustrated to me what Customer Service used to be like. He arrived on time and ready to get started. In less than 30 minute he had the old water softener unit out and was preparing the copper lines for the new one. The physical install was accomplished in 30 or 40 minutes. The subsequent programming of the valve took about 10 minutes. Eddie checked and rechecked all connections for leaks. One was discovered and the root cause was quickly repaired. I highly recommend Austin Area Plumbing and Mr. Pollack to anyone needing plumbing work. He personifies professionalism and a sense of pride in his work. He demonstrated an earnest willingness for helping the customer understand what is required and what will be performed. I plan on using them for all my future plumbing work.

Reliable & Courteous Service We are very satisfied wtih Austin Area Plumbing and would recommend them to all our friends and neighbors. The first time we called (for a non-urgent plumbing problem), Dennis was able to come out the very next day. He showed up on time and called ahead of time to confirm that he was on his way. Dennis was very courteous and was very thorough in resolving our issues. He had to drain the main line and even remove the toilet, but charged us a very reasonable price. We called a second time a month later and experienced the same great service. This time, after a consultation, Dennis informed my husband how he could fix the problem himself rather than charging us for the repair. We will definitely be calling Dennis at Austin Area Plumbing for any issues we may have in the future! Katie- Austin, TX

I hired Austin Area Plumbing to replace a drain pipe in my slab, which required extensively excavating under the house. Dennis took the time to explain the whole process to me, brought out an engineer to make sure the structure wasnt adversely affected by the excavation and quoted me a very fair price for a very large project. During the project, Pierre installed a new hot water heater and replaced all my old, broken shut-off valves and DIY mistakes, again for a very reasonable price. Austin Area Plumbing was prompt, courteous, clean and reasonable. They gave me a full warranty on all their work and I could not be more pleased. They are the most professional, competent plumbers I have used since living in Austin. I highly recommend them.
