My laptop computer is a Compaq Presario CQ56 that is a garage computer so it is not treated as well as other laptops (air conditioning & TLC) so I was having problems with it overheating & running slow. I took it in to PC Geeks because they are just down the road from me in Plano so I dropped it off there one day on my way home from work. I was greeted and checked in by Matt. He was very helpful and reassuring to me that it will be taken care of. I then received a call the next day from a technician named Jeff. He explained that the computer needed to be cleaned because of the overheating problem (3 years as a garage computer finally took its toll) and the reason it was running slow was because the Windows 7 OS was not installed correctly when it was refurbished. I was debating whether to get a new one or have this one fixed. Jeff let me know that he could fix this computer to run just as well if not better than when it was new. I told him to go ahead and repair it. I picked up my computer 3 business days later and man did I get a surprise when I got it home. It ran better than ever and has been nothing but a great computer. The total to get everything done was $170. A new computer would have costed me at least $300 for a basic plain jane computer for the garage. My hat is off to everyone at PC Geeks. They also gave me a 10% discount because I am a former United States Marine. They give the discount to all military. That is great that they do that. I am very happy with PC Geeks. They treated me very well and the service was fantastic. Thank you PC Geeks :)

I felt Jeff and Matt were more used PC salesmen than PC techs. My fathers laptop would not power on. They told me theyd get it powered on, and I paid $50 for their diagnosis. The next day, I was told the motherboard was dead and not repairable, and they pressured me into buying their refurb laptop for $275 (less $50 diagnosis fee). They said Im better off buying their laptop since I already invested $50, and the cheapest used mobo Id find would be $50-$75 plus $100 to install it. They lied!! I ordered a new mobo online for $24 with a 2 year warranty and had it installed by "we do electronics" for $35. They told me the video chip was bad, not the mobo. If you want PC diagnosis and repairs for less, I highly recommend "we do electronics" in Richardson, not PC Geeks.

My computer was displaying an error message and was unable to boot yesterday morning. I brought it to both PC Geeks and Frys Electronics to get a quote on the repair. PC Geeks offered to do the job for $50 less than Frys and had my computer up and running again early today (several days sooner than Frys assured completion). Im very happy with the job PC Geeks performed and will be bringing my laptop back if I ever have problems with it in the future.

Matt and his team are very knowledgable and professional. It took some time pin pointing the exact issue with my laptop, and they were extremely helpful every step of the way. They are a great resource for technologically challenged older guys like me :-).
