I opened my gym member with them July last year. Then they offered me a free session with a trainer to see how I liked it. So I came in and trained with Conrad. He then deliberately explained the contract totally wrong to get me sign up with him. He told me that it was not a contract, it was a month to month base and I could cancel anytime. And he would be my trainer. Since he seemed to be very nice and convincing, and I wanted to get in shape for my wedding this coming year, I signed up with him. After the first session, he disappeared and I was assigned another trainer, who was so rude to me. So I wanted to cancel, only to find out it was a 12-month contract, copy of which Conrad did not give me after I signed up on the computer with him. So I called the corporate line, and they said I had to pay $600 (the 50% of the remaining contract) to cancel. I came into the gym to speak to the manager, who was Rick at that time, and he was so rude. Then I spoke to the sale guy that I signed up with since the beginning, the whole team promised to help, said they would speak to General Manager or district manager and would help me out. NO ONE. No one called me back. I finally gave up and came in to cancel, whatever it took. When I came back there, they changed the whole team, from Manager to the sale team and even personal trainers. The guy helped me cancel member was Ben. And he said Conrad was fired since LA realized what he did to me and other customers. But Ben could not help me cancel my personal training sessions, he would notice the lady in charge and she would give me a call. Another lie. No one called me back. At this point, I was so tired of fighting. So I came in to use up all of my sessions until the contract ended this June. I pretty much enjoyed working out with Afraz. But again, this company has the worst customer service ever. And they dont treat customers the way they suppose to. So dont come in here. Contracts are never transparent.

I only gave these many stars for your attention. Honest review is 3.5 stars. The gym itself is decent and the people are ok. Ive been going for a year now and plan to get out soon. The reason i joined this gym was because it seemed cleaner than 24hr fitness on Campbell and Plano road. Honestly just find a different 24 hour fitness that is cleaner. Yeah this specific gym has better looking equipment (who knows if its cleaner or better). Just never join the personal training program here. The trainer (Chuma) is good but you will be pulled into a contract for a year without knowing. And crazy expensive. The training is only worth it for the first 3-4 months. Just look for a workout program (im starting Jay cutlers program). The closing times are very annoying and sometimes they close earlier and sometimes the gym is closed. I had a bad deal for $135 per 4 sessions and this cycle is 25 days, so youre charged every 25 days not every month.... So be aware. Final conclusion: join the gym just for the gym and free sessions (i.e. yoga on Thursday) Dont do the personal training unless you can force them for only 4 months and bargain for a good deal. Final warning: watch out for hidden fees and fine print.

I had a membership there. I got injured training and asked them to put a hold on my account. The General Manager (the person I talked to) said it wouldnt be a problem and that I wouldnt be charged any fees. Needless to say they charged me anyways and when I called to ask them about it no one could help me. They took my name and number and said someone would contact me. No one returned my call. So I called again and the same thing happened. Then finally a few hours later someone called me back and told me I had been misinformed or misunderstood the GM with whom I had spoken with. In the end I never got to speak with the person that was supposed to return my call. Also the changing rooms smell pretty bad. The whole reason I joined with them was to swim and relax in the hot tub and the pool was out of service for about 2 weeks. When that happened I asked the lady at the front desk to let me know when it was fixed and they never did that as well. Save yourself some money and frustration go elsewhere. 1 light away is the Huffines center/ park with a workout facility that costs you only 50 annually if you live in Richardson. And the staff there is much more accommodating and friendly.

Been a member of various LA fitness gyms for around 10 years. By far one of the most consistent gym franchises from a layout and equipment perspective. Was particularly excited the first time i walked into this location and noticed the plates were the perfectly round, rubber-coated plates as opposed to the octagonal shaped ones some gyms have (i understand its nice to prevent the bar from rolling, but safety comes first, round plates > octagonal when you have to dump the weight). Anyway, facility stays pretty clean from what i could tell. Its not crazy packed during the times i like to work out which is a plus. The general vibe is good - people who want to work on their fitness but arent professional bodybuilders making everyone feel out of place. Only been attending this gym for two weeks but big fan thus far.

I have never walked into a gym that I wanted to walk out within the first 3 minutes of being there. I walked in and the front desk girl was really nice. Thats probably the nicest thing I have to say. As far as customer service, the recruiters or customer service reps are terrible. He started the tour without properly introducing himself and he rushed me through the whole gym. After the shortest tour ever was done, he escorted me to his desk and talked with a smartalike tone the whole time. I got real angry when I asked about pricing and I got a response back, " We dont wait for your business; la fitness doesnt need your business and prices change every day. " He talked me out of this gym and I prefer going to Lifetime Fitness; even though they are pricer, at least I dont have poor customer service.
