I would have given it 1 star, but I did get decent cuts several times, but never quite exactly what I wanted. I kept coming back because, despite not getting what I wanted, it would tend to look nice. This last time, I told Natasha specifically I did not want a pixie cut and showed her a picture of a hair style she had done on me about a year ago. My hair was long enough to tuck behind my ears and the shortest layer was below my ears. So, I allowed myself to relax as she started working, the next thing I notice, I feel the sheers really close to my head. I look up and I have side burns and my hair is 1 inch long on the side of my head - - clearly the beginnings of a pixie cut. I stop her and thus began a torturous 30minute or more attempted rescue of my hair that just seemed to get worse and worse. She finally told me she had to take care of her next customer because theyd been waiting (I made an appointment at 1,they called at noon to ask me to come in at 1:30 because she was running late, so she was already rushed and squeezed for time.) She told me to just take a walk around and shed work on my hair more after she started the other ladys highlights, but she kept taking more off and it was almost like having my hair shaved underneath the top layer except that the top layer didnt even blend. So on each side *after* she had already attempted to blend it to correct it, it still looked like it cut sharply in. She kept *lightening* my hair to help it blend more, but the sideburns were getting more and more unruly, and each sides top layer (the layer she left long to hide the pixie cut underneath) started looking more and more blocky. The other hair dressers started milling around nearby and staring--as if that made me feel any better, because she had told them I wasnt satisfied with my cut. What the hell kind of person doesnt know that if a person is undergoing a horrible haircut, they dont want to be stared at?? And you **know** someone is eventually going to come around and say, "Oh, that looks so cute!!" to help back up the hairdresser. If I could attach photos I would. Ill look for the option after I post this. Its hacked, choppy, pixie underneath, bobbed on top. Its close to hideous. Such a huge mistake. What about "I dont want a pixie cut" is hard to understand?? So, I finally gave up and left because it just kept getting worse and Natasha kept making comments like, "Im sorry youre not happy with how I styled this" as if it wasnt her fault, but mine for being picky. And when Id get teary, shed stop working, pull back, and say, "Okay, youre shutting down on me." Yes, Im shutting down! Im trying to be polite so Im not yelling, but dont I have a right to be upset? She started getting more hurried with her cutting and more rough. I think she was getting upset that I was upset, and I knew it was time to go. She never really felt she had done anything wrong, and her frustration with my disappointment and frustration was coming out in painful thinning scissor usage, pulling roughly on my head and frequently stopping and looking at me with a non-emotional face and saying, "Youre shutting down on me." She at least comped the hair cut. ******* This is in response to the owner who respond below : Yes, they called me and asked what had happened. The message gave the impression Natasha hadnt told them exactly what had happened, but Im sure my message above is enough detail to satisfy. They offered to give me credit for future services and Natasha had offered to fix the hair but as I stated above, she was getting more rough and it was getting worse, so I had no inclination to come back and give her another chance. As far as credit goes, if I had the option, I wouldnt be inclined to come back after that experience; however, I was getting my hair cut right before PCSing (moving) to Hawaii. So, credit wouldnt help from Hawaii.

Two weeks ago Intrigue would have gotten 5 stars from me because of my stylist. The salon has gone downhill but I get so many compliments on my hair I would have still rated it five stars. Today they get 1. My stylist told me she was changing salons but wasnt sure when. We all know this happens all the time. But instead of Intrigue calling to say my stylist was no longer there they call to "reconfirm" my appointment conveniently omitting the part they told my stylist to leave when she tried to give two weeks notice. I had to ask TWICE who my appointment was with when they called to "reconfirm." It was a young, nervous girl calling me. Afte asking twice who I was booked with she could barely get out my stylist is no longer there and they had taken it upon themselves to move me to another stylist. When I asked her why I was rebooked with another stylist and not consulted ahead of time she even more nervously asked did I want to rebook. I asked for the manager who tried to explain it as a "miscommunication." A miscommunication is a misunderstanding. There was ZERO miscommunication. It was a planned, blatantly misleading call to "reconfirm" an appointment which in reality no longer exists. Had I not pushed the young girl who called they would have KNOWINGLY allowed me to arrive with no prior knowledge some stylist Ive never seen before was booked to take scissors to my hair. Intrigue changed hands about a year ago. Since that time there has been a ton of turnover to include a wonderful, on top of it scheduler. They also changed booking software which either didnt book me at all or my time would be different from the original time I booked. I go every two weeks since I have short hair. What Ive witnessed in this past year is turnover, incompetent booking, and now flat out lying. I hope every wonderful stylist at Intrigue follows my stylist out the door and finds a place where there is competent but more importantly HONEST management. To the manager I spoke with last night- Shame on you for leaving that phone call to a young girl who you knew would have to deal with people like me. Grow some integrity and take care of your people. Clients and employees alike.

After reading all the good reviews on here, I thought I would find a nice place to make my hair salon since moving to this lousy city. I was wrong. They are money-hungry and want to charge for every thing they possibly can. I am no stranger to nice salons, I lived in Phoenix for years, but they just took it too far. I asked for Natasha after reading the reviews on here. She was nice enough, but I felt as though I were just another head of hair to talk to. She didnt seem to really listen AND communicate well with me. She just didnt seem present. This led to my great disappointment and loss of money that was a gift; as I am a broke grad school student at the moment. While the cut she gave me was great, the lightness of the highlights was not at all what Id expected. I even commented to her that they usually leave them in longer and she replied it must be new products that work faster these days. Ive been getting highlights for over 10 years and have never had a more disappointing result! As Ive always understood, if the customer is not satisfied with the result, a fix can be made at no charge. They refused to do this unless I paid AGAIN, albeit half-price. I found this to be a complete rip-off. I do not wish to be unfair (unlike them) and will mention that they did discount me some on the service prior to the unexpected results, but I still feel very wronged and robbed. I was willing to go back and give them a second chance (as in--not write this negative review) and after speaking to some one there a week later who told me the owner, Liz, would be back the following week and would call me then. Its been 2 and a half weeks since she was supposed to return and never bothered to call back to rectify the situation. I am completely disappointed. It was supposed to be an end-of-the-semester/havent-had-my-hair-done-since-my-baby-was-born treat for me and it was completely ruined by this greedy pretentious salon. They try to make themselves seem prestigious and classy, but in truth, they are plain and simple thieves. Stay away unless you are a millionaire and dont care.
