Do not use this company for any roofing or remodeling, as you will regret it! They are operating with no insurance. They are also crooked in their business dealings. I hired them to replace the roof on my home and they requested that I pay half up front for the materials. I wrote them a check for $3250 for materials which they cashed the same day. They were supposed to notify me when they were going to start on my roof, which they did not do. I came home in the afternoon on Friday, June 23rd to find my roof torn off and uncovered. I attempted to get in touch with Joe Olvera Jr. via phone and text but never got a reply to either after leaving messages to call me about the roof and the forecast for heavy storms the next day. At 5 AM the next morning, a crew from America Roofing showed up to attempt to cover the roof as the storm was approaching but it was too little too late. The storm hit hard around 5:20AM dumping several inches of rain in a short period of time flooding the house. There was water running down the walls and coming thru the ceiling in every room causing major damage to the home. The ceiling in the Mater Bedroom collapsed onto someone causing injury when the insulation got so saturated and heavy with water. When the roofing company owner Joe Olvera Sr. and Joe Olvera Jr. finally came to view the damage, I asked them for their insurance information and told them we need to immediately get in touch with them and get a claim started. They said there was no need to involve insurance as I only had minor damage to the home and they would patch up the bedroom. I asked their foreman Ira Dale Tucker about all my wet and damaged goods and he said they could take the stuff out of the Master Bedroom and put it under my outdoor carport and put tarps around it.This was not acceptable, as the entire house had water damage and was still wet. I asked for their insurance information several times but they would not give it to me. Ira Dale Tucker said he talked to Joe Jr. about filing a claim and he said he had done so already. Joe would not give me any information on their insurance or the claim he said he filed. After getting the run around from America Roofing, I contacted my homeowners insurance who instructed me to contact a restoration company which I did. They dispatched a project manager out to inspect the damage. After his inspection, he said the home needed to be emptied of all its contents and all wet sheet rock and insulation needed to be removed as soon as possible. The restoration company sent a crew to pack up all my salvageable belongings and put them in climate controlled storage. I also had to find somewhere else to live while the home is being torn apart and repaired. America Roofing never delivered the materials I paid for up front for the roof and they refuse to return my $3250. The restoration company had to buy materials to put a complete new roof on along with replace decking that was damaged from being soaked from the storm. I have had to hire an attorney to help me with this situation. He is being told thru their attorney that they did not have any insurance. They are a horrible and dishonest company with lying owners!

Every time I look at the mold stains near my chimney, or the poor plaster repair from where an employees foot came into my living room, or the mess from where shoddy workmanship ruined a portion of my ceiling, or the collapsed bit of ceiling near my entryway, I remember again how much I regret hiring these guys. Years later, and I still think about what an awful ordeal this all was. They failed to properly seal the roof around my chimney, causing a slow leak. This leak was not noticeable until we saw a mushroom growing out of the ceiling by the fireplace. Since it was still under warranty, I called them back out to fix things. The workers that arrived did not speak English and could not demonstrate that they actually fixed anything. They tried to just slap some plaster over the water stains and I had to insist they remove the moldy material and fix it properly. The "repair" was obvious, ugly, and of poor quality. The incompetence of this company wore me down. (I wont even get into how they kept calling me to raise the price of the job) So, when the same area leaked again, I contacted a different company and they showed me pictures of how a roof ought be sealed around a chimney. Then they showed me what American Roofing did. It wasnt even remotely similar-looking. It was like...they just kind of cut everything around the brick and dumped some tar on it. No wonder it kept leaking! We are still suffering with issues that stemmed from this leak, including an infestation of a particular breed of fungus-eating ants, and the lizards that are in the walls eating the ants. Every time I think weve finally fixed/cleaned/exterminated problems surrounding this poor roof job, something else pops up. Stay far away, ESPECIALLY if you are a new home owner. Im not as green now as I was back then, but I would hope to save someone else from getting fleeced by these guys.

I would like to say that my husband and I are very satisfied with Joe Overa and the America Roofing Team. They completed some improvements for our patio and it was marvelous, at first I questioned his plan but afterwards as it materialized I was truly amazed. He is going to complete also for us an exceptional roof replacement pattern that we will be proud of I know. I highly recommend America Roofing, this company can do it all for you. Joe is a Christian man and so pleasant to work with and displays a humble manner with his customer relationships. Carpenter Alberto and the other staff was so courteous and professional and had such a pleasant character. The world needs more companies with individuals of this type representing them.

Can you give less than one star? These guys failed to do what they said they would on my roof repair. Also two outrageous price increases for things that should have been visible to the estimator/owner that gave the original price quote. I am not sure if this is there standard operating procedure. When questioned as to why something was not being done the owner would tell me he would take care of it, then get in his truck and drive off with nothing changed. I do not recommend this company.

Gustovo was the guy I dealt with. He was great. He gave me a free estimate and didnt pressure me. He answered some of my questions and told me to call if I had any later in the week. He seemed trustworthy so I went with my gut instincts. He really worked with me on the financial part and guaranteed everything for 5 years. They did a good job. I think someone like that deserves a good writeup. sincerely, John Lawhon 12500 TreeLine Austin, TX 78729

Very poor workmanship. Allowed my house to flood. Destroyed the floors, walls, workers damanged appliances, they have not made the damages right. Sent non english speaking people to do repairs and they did more damange to living room floor, kitchen appliances, did patchwork repairs instead of full repairs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They are NOT honest.
