So I just got my hair cut at Fantastic Sams at The Shops in Ft. Union and while I am satisfied with the product I cant say the same for the service. At the start of the process the beautician looked up my record by using my phone number then asked me what size of blade she should use on her clippers. I told her that I didnt know but that I was sure that it would be in my file. She looked and came back with a lame answer that their records didnt include haircuts, they only had room on their computer for dye jobs and perms. Folks, Ive been getting my hair cut since the 60s and back then they didnt have computers but they did keep a record of my visits on something called card stock with a pen and they filed it away in a thing called a filing cabinet. Now Im as much of a techie as the next man but if youre computer cant do as good of a job as pen and paper maybe your not using it right, or maybe its time for a new computer, or maybe its time to go back to pen and paper or maybe its just nap time? IDK but I dont like walking into an establishment and being made to feel as if its my job to do their job. Thats what Im paying them for in the first place. Besides that the counter that I put my glasses down on was still dirty from the last patrons hair and the stylist next to me was too busy yaking on the phone to work on the patron that she was assigned to. I really felt as if my visit was unappreciated. Thank you for reading my rant.

I had a great experience at the Midvale Fantastic Sams! I am not good at explaining how I want my hair cut, but I had a photo of what I wanted and the stylist looked at it, described it to me exactly how I was picturing it on my own head, and then cut it to perfection. The cut was quick and looked great! It has been three weeks and my hair still styles itself; all I have to do is dry it! My only complaint was the wait was long, but that is mostly because I was a walk-in without an appointment. They have deals for women one day of the week (Wednesday maybe?) but I didnt know that ahead of time and went on a Friday. I will definitely be going back.

NEVER GO HERE!!!!! This was the worst hair cut I have ever received in my whole life. I asked for a trim, she cut off 4 inches and cut is big huge chucks and not blended at all. Then she asked if I wanted layers and I told her just a little bit and to leave the front sides alone because they were already a little too short. She cut off another 3 inches from my sides and I literally now have a mullet. I could have done a better job on my own with a weed whacker! I complained about it after and she said no it looks beautiful. I honestly dont know how to fix it. I will have to wear it in a pony tail for months. HORRIBLE!!!!!

Horrible service. Arrived 1 1/2 hours before closing at the Fort Union, UT store. There are three stylists reading magazines, and the chairs were empty. Im a 7.5 year customer of Fantastic Sams. They would not cut and color my hair because "policy" says I must arrive 2 hours before closing. Im a guy and my hair is very short. Normally it takes an hour or a little less to complete the process. They are lazy, could care less about their customers, and incompetent. Ill never go there again. Wish they cared about my business as much as they do about their tattoos.

I thought all Fantastic Sams were created equal, but thats definitely not the case unfortunately. The good thing though is this location is awesome! Ive had a few different stylists cut my hair and theyve all be great. Plus theyre open on Sunday which is a great time to sneak away to get a relaxing hair cut. Fantastic Sams always will wash (its actually more like a massage) your hair before or after cutting depending on your preference and use a straight razor on your neck with a hot towel for an extra close shave.

Don't go to this fantastic sams. I went because I know the ones in orem are great, but when I walked in, the ladies looked trashy and they were slouching in their chairs. One asked what I needed after staring for a moment when I came in. Then they sat and complained the rest of the time that customers don't know how they want their hair cut. They clearly do not regard themselves as professionals. Luckily the younger girl that helped us with our hair seemed fine.

Gone here twice thinking it probably was just the stylist. NOPE. They always rush through it Ive never gotten the full hair cut i went in within a year time both for just some layers and my bangs trimmed they varely trimmed my hair no layers my bangs are never done right the lady didnt even wet my very wavy hair she just started cutting not seeing if i luked the length. Its cheap for a reason because these people dont care about how well they do your hair!

Not good. I wanted a bob cut, but not so blunt at the end, but not layered. The lady layers up to the tips of my ears! Remember, NOT layered? Oh but dont worry, she layered like crazy on the left and nothing on the right. She cut it way too short and it looks exactly like the picture I showed her NOT to cut it like! She was very nice and super happy but sucked. Oh well, I guess hair grows out. But not how I wanted my new summer looks to look.

When I could afford it, I paid $50 for haircuts because I thought the more you paid the better the cut. I can no longer afford those expensive salons so I started going to Fantastic Sams. I was surprised to discover that the cuts and services I received were equal to those expensive salons. I would recommend them to anyone. My only complaint is that they dont make appointments; sometimes I get seated right away and sometimes I have to wait.

Horrible place! I received the worst possible hair cut a year ago, left this place in tears. Against my better judgment I took my nephew here for a kids cut. The store manager said she would check me right in, waited twenty minutes when someone else came through the doors sat down less than five minutes and was called back! Rude customer service. Do yourself a favor never ever go here!!!!

I like to go in the evenings on a weekday. The wait is usually short and the staff less stressed. Ive gone here for years and find that I get a pretty good haircut each time. Ive had a few that struggled with my haircut (#8 on top and #4 on sides), but Im not sure why. Some of them just refuse to use clippers and do it by hand and end up making it longer than I want.
