I do like this place. Ive pretty much grown up here through out my entire life. I remember my mother use to work here when I was fairly young and I came here all the time through out my child hood. I recently had to get my own membership to do family finanical issues, and I cant say that its worth paying 40$ a month, over 10$ at Planet Fitness or 20$ at Vasa Fitness. However they do offer a lot more things to do, which is why you should not just get a membership to go work out. They do have Tennis courts, swimming pools and plenty of stuff to do for kids. So over all, its worth it if youre going to be doing more then just going to the weight room. But if you just want a place to workout, Id say look elsewhere. But the reason why this is getting three stars is because there was miscommunication between me and the nice lady helping me get my membership. She did make it clear that I would have to pay the monthly fee and such if I wanted to keep the membership and I am happy to oblige. However, she did never clearly state that I would be locked into a year contract. Its very frustrating because I will be moving down to St. George this spring to attend Dixie State, and now I have to keep paying a fee to a club that I wont be able to attend next year. Just need to work on communication.

I have been a member for 1 year. You get nickel and dimed to death. e.g. Its $20 per month to put my infant on the account, but then an additional $10 per month to put her in the nursery (where else can I put her?). Also, dont think about taking a friend! They did away with VIP passes, and have a $5 per day punch pass that gets charged when they use it; so if you have a buddy that goes everyday, its very expensive, or they have to sign up for their own membership (12 month contract). The equipment is old and the WiFi only works in parts of the building, which is a problem because cell reception is terrible, so no to Pandora! We have paid over $1200 for this membership for 1 year, and could have saved a ton by going to Golds, or somewhere else. The gym is best suited for older retirees who plan on using the older equipment, and the pool (dont try to use the pool during scheduled water aerobics), and tennis courts everyday (tennis courts need a few weeks advanced scheduling too) I would not encourage anyone to be a member here. I have had 3 friends sign up for memberships with OAC, and leave as soon as they could get out. Definitely not worth it! In all honesty, you can get the same amenities for less at other gyms, with nicer equipment and facilities.

Previous customer before 2012. Called today to check out what might be new in this OAC facility, spoke with a female sales rep and she walked me through the cost and promos just fine, BUT then when I asked if theres a free pass for my family and I to try out the facility before we decide to spend $95/month for a family package and a 12 month contract, she said I dont qualify, only for new customers. Even though I asked her if she can look up my previous membership account when I did sign up and compare my previous pay to now, she said it was too old and that they got new computer systems so I am not listed. Then how am I disqualified? her response, " you called in June 2012 inquiring about the facility..." I replied, " so because I called in 2012, I am automatically disqualified for the free pass?"... (their 1 day free pass must be worth more than gold I suppose"), her response, " you know what, its not worth the arguement, I can give you the free pass".... my response to that, " its alright, Ill pass. bye. Lost a potential $1200/yr contract from me. Going somewhere else. Bad customer service for trying to earn new business, even if I was a previous member from the past.

Has plenty of equipment and things to do, not worth the $50 monthly as you can get the same things done at vasa for 20. The only thing that this gym has that others do not have is chalk for weight lifting. Other than that its just your normal gym. The gym also makes it very hard to cancel membership as you need to visit when a manager is in. If you work normal weekday hours its next to impossible to be there when they are, I had to almost forcefully request a cancelation form since the manager was not in and I had to come in when they where in. If they changed their prices to compete with other gyms and didnt have year contracts then Id probably stay. Also of note is when you sign up and sign your year contract, that is not the beginning of your year contract, they will bill you 12 times before letting you leave. So if they gave you 2 months free youre now in a 14 month contract even though what you signed says 12 months.

I am approaching 2 years of membership at Ogden Athletic Club. I am loving the experience. There is a great sense of community and camaraderie at the Club. I am primarily training for powerlifting, so I rarely venture out of the weight room. They have a well-equipped weight room with enough stations and barbells that there usually isnt a wait to use the equipment. Even when it is busy, most of the other lifters are friendly and willing to work in. There are a couple of chalk boxes (although there is a consistent problem with the casual lifters crushing the blocks to dust instead of using it properly). And we dont face "judgement" if we lift heavy weights. The staff is the best. The trainers, maintenance, and administrative crews are all personable and give great service. Even though I have been tempted to switch to gyms with newer or more specialized equipment, I keep coming back because it feels like I belong here.

Dated Equipment, substandard quality, breaks down often. Weight scale on order for the past four months. Swimming pool, needs some serious maintenance, if you like to ice swimming and like to join a "Polar Bear Club", I recommend OAC as an excellent option. While the underpaid staff is great (very high employee turnover), management deficient decisions dissuade me from continuing my family membership. Watch out for the added fees and exorbitant charges for wanting to attend a class, oh wait they have discontinued it because the club does not make money from it. Well, I will help you with that too. In summary, I’m recommending the owner –that is, if he wants to stay in business-- to go as an “undercover boss” to investigate how his firm is really being managed identifying the obvious problems created by the inept administrator and shoddy general manager.

Got a free day pass to this gym through my boyfriends point system because he has a pass. The equipment was good. There was a lot of space to workout. I was excited about the pool. However they close at 8 pm on a Saturday night? We got off work at 7 and had 20 minutes by the time we had changed and got there. I didnt get to go to the pool. Week nights we get off at 11 so they would already be closed. When we asked why they closed so early they said and I quote "because its not worth it." When there was at least 15 people still there. I would be paying about $40 a month not by hour so number of people shouldnt matter. Many other gyms are open later if not 24/7. Was thinking about opening a membership but probably will not because of the early closing schedule when theres many other gyms that are open whenever its convienent for me.
