Mercer is the worst! Went there last year with my Toyota Highlander for its 90k service - and paid $650. for a routine maintenance. 10 days later I am driving back to PC from the airport at 7am and my check engine light goes on and it looks like it is smoking. I call Mark Miller Toyota as they are 5 minutes away and they opened the hood and there were the hoses laying on top of the engine! They also said the oil was dirty and looks like the flush and oil change was never done. They showed it to me as they knew I had just had the car serviced as I gave them the receipt from Mercer to make sure things were not duplicated. They ended up doing the same service. They showed me everything that needed to be done and I paid Mark Miller $550. to re-do the same work. The service tech has showed everything to the Mark Miller Service Mgr who reviewed everything and verified that it was not done- and if it was done it was done very poorly. I drove straight to Mercer and told them the story. The Mgr was sitting and listening in the background as I told - I believe Jake- everything. He said Mark Miller was lying and he would contact them and get back to me. The Mgr at Mercer didnt say a word. I left with nothing. No money back and no phone call. The service Mgr. at Mark Miller called me the next day to say the Mgr at Mercer had paid them a visit and called them a bunch of liars. He said they have never had anyone in the 7 years he was the Mgr. speak to them like that as he was swearing and yelling at everyone.( so unprofessional ) So I spoke to Jake several times after that and he said that he would contact me- never did and never will. I told the story to a few friends and one of them said they had a similar experience there with their Lexus as they took it to the dealer and the dealer claimed the work was never complete. Will never ever go there again and hope you dont either!

Mercer Automotive is a scab of an auto company. I brought my car in for an oil change and asked them to check out problem I was having with the transmission. After convincing me that I needed $1,800 worth of new parts to "fix" the problem, they were about to give me my car back when they told me the problem STILL wasnt fixed and that in order to complete the process I needed to purchase a new valve body (yet an additional $1,300 part). I was growing suspicious of them, so I decided to take it to another mechanic for a second opinion. The shop I took it to in Salt Lake shocked me when they told me not only did I NOT need a new valve body, but that either out of GREED or IGNORANCE did not PLUG IN the wire that made the transmission run properly (I wish I could remember the name, but this was a few months ago). So, my engine has all these shiny new parts that are unnecessary and they were attempting to milk me for more. What makes it worse is that this was the second time they have done this. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me I suppose. In high school I brought my car to them to replace the starter. They wanted to charge me $400, but my parents told me to try a mechanic in Salt Lake. The shop in Salt Lake fixed the problem for less than $200. I am a young adult, in college, with no extra money to spare and it disgusts me that there are companies that will take you for all your worth just to line theyre own pockets. Mercer is a dishonest establishment, dont make the same mistake I did (twice!).

Possibly they got rid of the dishonest staff members there. First of all, I had fuel pump problems on an old beeter ( besides the point ) so it was estimated that a remanufactured pump was $300 + whatever labor = $900 or so ( two years ago it was ). My trucks fuel guage never worked right from the get go so improper readings and running out of fuel fried the pump. Thinking it was fixed by Mercer? no, after blowing several fuzes ( going through say 3 of them boxes ) I returned the truck and Mercer ( yeah Tom ) couldnt cut me a break, charged me an additional $90- ( think we fixed it? ) and then again $90 ( think we fixed it? ). OK so then my fuze box was hammered from all the fuzes I went through. So I believe me and my friend found the ground and ran a fuze length wire which got me down the road say 2 years. The fuel pump went out again. Me and a friend bought a fuel pump and sending unit for $145 from Pep Boys, drained the gas, droped the tank and low and behold we see the original sending unit and a replacement pump which is market price aprox $50- WTF ! TOM! WTF Mercer. You suck th finances out of a poor mans wallet. $300- for a $50- part? not grounding a fuel pump right? Thank God my truck didnt blow to Kingdom Come with me it it. I believe the fire department would of figured that one out. Oh! and a break job on my friends truck, charged him for turning the roters and never turned them. Crooks! Sincerely; A local- Yo- kull !

I did not personally go to the shop but I had an amazing exchange with a technician there named Nate. I was looking to buy an Audi in the Park City area that had what the owner called a "slight problem" with the transition. It would not go into drive but just reverse. I had a picture of the part that the owner "just didnt have time" to get it repaired but had the part. I called Mercer Automotive to see if they could do an inspection if I had it towed to their facility. Nate, who told me he worked in the transmission industry for 8 years before Mercer, bent over backwards to help me. I did my best to explain what the owner told me and he told me that things didnt add up from what I was told. He gave me his PERSONAL EMAIL to send the picture of the part to get a better idea of what I was dealing with. He called me back a couple of hours later and told me that the part i sent him doesnt cause the problem the owner was talking about. He told me that it sounds more like a cracked piston and that the transmission would have to be rebuilt. I asked him what he would do in my position and what he thought the car might be worth. He was honest and told me that he wouldnt pay more than a couple of hundred dollars for the car (I was looking to pay about 2k) and that he would stay away from it. THANK YOU NATE. I was almost fooled into paying for a car that would have cost WAY more than what it is worth. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

0 stars. If i could give them negative stars I would. These guys are a bunch of clowns. Stereotypical slime ball mechanics. I towed my vehicle in the night before. Called at 8:30am to let them know what was up. They said they would get to it and let me know. I called back at 3:30pm [7 hours later] and they havent even looked at it. He told me that I have to wait my turn and if I wanted to go tow it somewhere else... [Im pretty sure if I was waiting in their waiting room this wouldnt have happened]. Anyway. He called me back at 5:30 and said I needed new batteries, and a ground. Total cost will be $400. I told him I had a free 2 year warranty on my batteries and they said they already installed the new ones and there was nothing he could do... Which was bullshi t. I basically told him to take them out. Charge me for 15 min of labor and Ill go drive down to the valley and exchange them myself, so I can save money. I did all that. Came back. They ignored me. I connected my batteries only to find that these morons didnt install my ground correctly. I had to drive from their place back to a friends house because my two headlights burnt out. Now my gas gauges dont work. My vehicle is in worse condition than it was when I brought it in. Keep up the good work you guys. Winning...
