Let me just start off by saying this aint no Great Clips. These guys take their profession seriously. Theyre proud of their craft and their work and they dont gloss over any details. Atmosphere is casual, almost like youre set up in someones living room - TV in the background, stereo pumpin out good music. They have a lot of regulars and I have to admit it made me feel a little uncomfortable being a first-timer. It was like a friend invited me to a party where I dont know anyone and then they forgot to come. Legitimately the only downside is that with the amount of individual care they give each client, the wait can get pretty long. I showed up at 10:45 on a Saturday morning. Their 3 chairs were occupied and there was one person ahead of me. I didnt get in a chair until noon. The haircut they gave me was fresh, though. Really clean all around and clearly professionally done. They did trim my beard a little too short. I tried to tell them that it had taken me 3 months to get it where it was and I was happy with the length, I just wanted to tame it and make it less curly. I probably wasnt specific enough because my beard is mostly gone now. but the lines and shape are still there so it should fill in nicely over time. Anyway, I would definitely recommend Josephs to anyone looking for an expertly done haircut. Just dont expect to get in and out quickly. Make an appointment if you can.

Ive been a client to Josephs Barbershop for about 3 years. They are great at what they do but after todays appointment I left upset and very dissatisfied. On various occasions I had appointments scheduled and I had to wait for them to finish up with their clients. However today when I was 10 minutes late I was told I could reschedule or wait for the a walkin barber to cut my hair, I waited, got my haircut and the barber did an amazing job, I tipped him as well. Then I get an email stating I was charged a $10 fee for "not showing up." So I was charged $30 plus tip for my haircut today. I get its a business but Im upset that on various occasions I had to wait several minutes for the barber to finish but my barber couldnt wait 10 minutes this one time. I wont be going back because I feel like Im not valued as a customer.

Joseph and his crew have a fun and professional vibe, they are welcoming and are adaptable to the customers needs. I just had my second hair cut done by Joseph and both times he has done a great job. He listens to what I want and then with a professional artist point of view he recommends changes for the better. The products and the process of the hair cut are great too, setting up appointments is easy and hassle free, and the products are of professional standard which make things like the shave at the end very smooth and rash free (my skin is very sensitive, so huge plus) and the styling at the end is show time, on-point good. Thanks for a great hair cut experience.

Josephs Barber Shop is the place to experience an authentic barbershop feel. The service offered is amazing. You never sit in the chair feeling awkward, like there is nothing to talk about. The attention to not only your hair cut (which is the best youll find around Salt Lake City), but the comfort provided to you by the staff is simply outstanding. Ive been three times and found that free bottled water, a complementary electric shoulder massage, and a pristine hair cut are almost guaranteed. I was someone who never in my life was 100% satisfied with a haircut until I found this place. I recommend it to all friends and family. Its simply excellent.

Walked into Josephs barbershop yesterday And I sat down with a student barber, didnt know he was a student at first but he straight up didnt know what he was doing. Joseph was showing him how to cut and blend the taper throughout the whole haircut, he was pretty much practicing on me, and even with Joseph by his side showing him how to move the clippers he was doing the exact opposite, I went in expecting a clean taper and left with an uneven, unblended taper, not worth the time l took to drive out, Joseph is a dope barber but this dude he put on aint ready to be cutting hair. Sloppy cut for 20$.

They are ok barbers with horrible customer service. I left work early and came in at 6:30, half an hour before they close hoping to get a haircut. There was 1 person waiting in line and they told me that they dont take walk ins anymore and every barber declined me service so I left and I was very upset since I drove a long way to get there. Then one of their barbers Marcus came out and told me to never come back which is exactly what Im gonna do. To sum this up theres a bunch of bitches working there who dont know how to treat customers

Great service, great vibe, made me feel good about myself and my haircut. the best part was my haircut actually was one of the best i have ever experienced in my life. This is one of the few places i have been. That I could walk in sit in any chair, and receive a great haircut. to top it off they offer free bottled waters with your haircut and are up to date with the newest styles and trends!! My wait was short and the guys didnt play favorites!

What an experience. First time going to a barber shop (ex wife was a stylist who cut my hair). Busy on a Sunday, but well worth the wait. Jesse gave me the whole barber experience with taper cut, hot towel, straight razor shave and beard lineup... best cut Ive ever had. Im a trucker, do any time I come through Salt Lake, this will definitely be a stop before heading back outta town. Thanks again, my girlfriend loves the new look!

Joseph became a friend of mine when I first moved to Salt Lake two years ago. I didnt know anyone in town other than my girlfriend, but I walked in, he introduced himself and he made me look great by the time I left. I trust his barbers and its just a great atmosphere. The morning of my wedding Joseph met me at his shop early so I could look my best for the big day. I recommend this place to all my friends in Salt Lake.

I knew Joseph before he was a licensed barber. I didnt hesitate to come into his new shop once he was up and running to check it out. I was not disappointed! Just like he has always been; warm, smiling, and very welcoming. Now you can add professional to the list. I follow his work on social media and he is always trying to be the best he can be and make people feel like theyre important.

As soon as I walked in I knew I was going to leave with a good haircut. I was greated and sat instantly. I told him what I wanted and he started right away. I appreciate that he took his time and paid attention to detail and made my hair cut clean!!! I even let him do a few of his own things, I can guarantee that this is my best haircut I have ever had.
