I’ll be honest I’m writing this review, because they’ll give me a free t-shirt if I do. Nah not really, there’s actually lot to like about Thryve Fitness. After visiting a lot of gyms I decided on this one and I’m so happy I found it. If you’re reading this review then that probably means you do your research before you buy into something - and I applaud you. I’m hoping that my 2 cents will help you make a decision. I’ve visited many of the gyms that my friends were going to like Vasa, Anytime Fitness, Planet Fitness and Crossfit gyms only to be disappointed. Let me tell you why I didn’t go with any of those gyms. In order of better to worse. Anytime Fitness - No on-site staff. Which means customer service is almost non-existent. I went to visit them only to find out that I wasn’t able to go in because I didn’t have a key fob. No one was there to open the door and show me around. Except a member, who later told me to come in on Monday at a certain time if I wanted to speak to someone about a membership. Due to my work schedule I wasn’t able to and they lost a potential customer due to the lack of on-site staff. Planet Fitness - Limited weights. I was seriously considering this gym until I found out that there were no barbells available for deadlifting, squatting, etc. Just a bunch of machines that handicap you. Crossfit - It’s hell of expensive. I like the idea of crossfit but I wanted to go to a place where I was also allowed to just do my own thing. Vasa - Sub-par customer service, very crowded, and hidden fees/dumb fees. - The juggernaut gym of Utah. I honestly don’t know how it’s gotten so big. After reading a lot of online reviews I decided to check it out for myself. The young man who greeted me was nice, but he didn’t have the body to prove that he was a fitness expert. Which is fine, but I wouldn’t take advice from him. I went at 6, which is the time that I would normally go, and holy crap - It was crowded! At the end of the tour I asked him about the hidden fees that I read about online and he politely explained them all to me. He claimed that they weren’t hidden but were in the contract of every person who signed up. Either way the so called ‘hidden fees” were stupid. Like a price guarantee fee; and maintenance fee that I expected would be included in the membership fee. Now after considering these gyms I kind of lost hope until I went to the Nissan dealership in Sandy. I sat down and saw on the side table a flyer about a gym that I never heard of in Sandy. That same day I went to go check it out and this is what happened: Tryve Fitness - I was greeted by the store manager, Bryce, who kindly gave me an in-depth tour of the entire facility. It had everything I was looking for. The gym was barely a year old and all the equipment was in good-condition. The showers were really nice and allowed some privacy. There were a ton of free weights including barbells and squat racks. It wasn’t crowded at all and I went during peak hours(6-7). Needless to say I was very happy with my experience and I signed up for a membership that same day. Prices are also fair. About 10-15 dollars more than those big name gyms. There’s also a bunch of classes they offer like Zumba and Yoga. Bryce and Nick are awesome and very knowledgeable people who I’d definitely take fitness advice from. There are upsells like personalized training but other then that there are no ridiculous/hidden fees. However, depending on the membership you buy, if you do decided to cancel your membership and it’s a year-contract(which they normally are); instead of paying a cancellation fee youre paying the rest that’s left of your year contract. Luckily there are month-month options if you don’t want to commit to a year. Overall verdict: Thryve Fitness Club kicks ass and it saved me from giving up on commercial gyms. Let me help you save some time researching. I already did it for you. If you live in the area - go with Tryve. Until this place starts getting crowded, I’ll be staying here for a while and I’ll update this post if needs be.

To describe the staff in one word: Passion. From the moment I walked in and every moment after I have been absolutely welcomed. You can tell that these people want you here and they want you to succeed. It doesnt hurt that its clean and and not crowded. You sign a 12-month commitment but there isnt a bunch of fees like there are with the more prominent gym in the area. If youre serious about bettering yourself, 12 months isnt a commitment to worry about anyway. Im working with the personal training staff and, having tried PT out at another gym, can definitely say that they do it right. Not only will they push you, but they keep an eye on form to make sure that youre targeting the muscle group. I know that works because I can feel it after every session. Another note on the personal training: theyre 30 minute sessions; but they dont book their trainers back to back so my trainer has the time to follow up, book the next session, and meet with me about eating habits before I go. Its nice that I never hear "well its 9:30 so Ive got to get to my next client." Id say this gym is a great choice for everyone, regardless of where you fall in gym experience!

May 31st was my first T3 class with my sister in law Crystal who was the trainer. I originally went primarily to support her and was embarrassed because I was completely out of shape. Fast forward to now, October 21st, I have attended the T3 classes faithfully 2-4 times a week. I LOVE them and all the trainers who teach them! I have lost about 20 pounds and gained strength, flexibility, and confidence. Im a happier person and have more energy because of Thryve Fitness. The daycare has made this journey incredibly easy because my 3 young boys love it! It is clean and has many things to keep them busy. They are always happy when I pick them up and never complain when I drop them off. This gym is the absolute best! I even drive from Lehi to attend, that should say a lot!

I hate to even write a review on this but I am upset I did not take advantage of my 7 day free pass, I ended up enrolling for the Class Pass and after signing everything i was told it was a 12 month contract. Im too nice I did not say anything. Then after my first 2 training sessions I felt extremely uncomfortable with the trainer and after that have not returned since. I have only been there for a week but yes like everyone says on here who rated low scores, cancelling your membership is ridiculous. Im stuck with it and I cant even use the membership because of the trainer who made me feel uncomfortable. But who cares right theyre getting $40 /month from me so it doesnt really matter. I should have stayed with VASA.

Feel like home again. So many gyms are corporate meat markets. sterile and uncomfortable to be a part of. They are full of issues and un-motivating to attend. Thryve Fitness Club in Sandy is NOT that! It is wonderful to be a part of and has motivated me to the point that I look forward to being there. The staff is friendly and genuinely interested in what the members want out of the club. It has replaced the location of the previous Crossroads but has surpassed its customer service by leaps and bounds. If you do not want the lame environment of many big names gyms and want a place you can be fit and enjoy your company this is the place! I am proud to be a "Thryver" since day one.
