Before I went to the Lifetime fitness Gym to inquire about a membership. I read all of the reviews. Taking the good with the bad, I decided to swing by and look it over and see the facility for myself. First let me say it is a very nice facility. I was given a tour (around 4PM) by Jeremy B. he was professional and mindful of my schedule and respected my timeline. I let him know I was looking at a variety of clubs and what my expectations were. He asked questions based on what was important to me and my goals. I expressed my interest in swimming laps and my concern about pool time (there are reviews that comment that lane availability is an issue) and Jeremy assured me that it would not be a problem to meet my expectations. As a former sales person, I watch for the pitch, the training lingo to draw us in and make us feel like the sales person is doing "us" a favor or get it now (the call to action.) I do not want to be sold; I want to be informed. Jeremy did not "sell" me, he informed me. He did not lean on me to hurry and sign... yet he did make very solid and distinctive points regarding his product and the cliental. He informed me of the busy times and what to expect. He informed me of the clubs expectation of everyone that works at the facility. He let me know what my financial commitment would be and my options if I was not satisfied (14 days for a full refund) and 30 day notice to cancel my membership (example give notice 14 Aug - contract ends 14 Sep and pro-rated.) I had a positive experience and would highly recommend taking a tour of the facility and make a decision based on your own experience. I am looking at a few more clubs and will make my decision. I will update this review. Update 01JUN14 - well after 1 week of working out as various times of the day (to see how busy it is and the availability of equipment) and meeting staff and members, I decided to join. I spoke with a variety of people and every person loved their Life Time Fitness Club. If someone was on a particular piece of equipment they would offer to let me work in. The staff is very accommodating, example a gentleman named Will, offered to look up the closing time for Scheels so I would not waste a trip to the store if they were closed. Jeremy was cool and greeted me and made sure to answer any questions I had. Dan, the manager made sure I had all my questions answered and made himself available if I had future questions. Last point.. I really like the vibe of the club, there are some incredibly fit individuals there and others just starting their journey of a changed and better self. Some people stay to themselves (which is cool) others are happy to reciprocate a conversation. It is like anything in life.. you will get out of it what you put into it. See for yourself......

The only reason they get at least one star is because of the few employees that have made working out here nice. Well here is my biggest complaint, the LTV. They play the same few song for months and months, then they will change maybe one song. It is one thing to show their same commercials over and over and over. But music affects the mood. I cant have my headphones on the whole time due to my own problems. Also at my work I see many lifetime customers and employees and they all say the same thing about the music. Its annoying. I hear so many complaints even from employees who tell me how awful it is to work there. I fee so bad for the front desk people having to listen to the same garbage all the time. And its all depressing music. Its stupid garbage like female singers who say the same thing over and over through the whole song.... its torture. Everyday I hear at least one song a few times even three times. I have put complaints in and been ignored. LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. As for what everyone else wrote with the negative comments. Its all true. However they claim to clean the bathrooms at least twice a day. I have purposely put stuff on the ground to see how long it stays and Ive seen stuff stay for a whole week. I wish I could say that was once but nope I have seen hairballs and pubic hair and all sorts of things stay for several days. Then there was there awesome floor remodel. Steve cutlers response to everyone was and is "change is hard" obviously they dont care. Their "remodel" according to employees was $750,000. For flooring and moving some weights around and throwing the good equipment away. I think they got taken personally. They left everything to close together and I have been bumped during sets. It is so unsafe how it is set up. They literally dont care. But of course after that they raised the prices. Now they are hopefully fixing the roof that has been leaking onto the equipment for years. I wonder how much they will raise prices for that. Should I mention how you can tell there is tons of damage on the wood now around there amazing trx station (that wasnt needed right in the middle) and where everyone is dropping weights? We have been here forever and I love our routine. It makes me sad how this place has gone down. I constantly hear complaints about how dirty things are. What happened to listening to your customers? What happened to the customer is always right? Sadly I could go on and on. Which makes me sad. I will say one more.... I loved the towel service till I found out that sometimes they just use hot water and not bleach or cleaner on them if they run out? Yep straight from the mouths of the employees.

****READ BEFORE JOINING**** Im close to cancelling my membership at the gym I love because of numerous concerns that continue to escalate. Im at a stand still figuring out where to go next. They did a remodel of the floors and shifted/reduced all of the weight lifting equipment to had a larger gymnasium type floor for a TRX workout station and free style area to lay mats down. They got rid of a lot of duplicate/triple equipment that previously made up for busy times of the day. Over the past couple months they have been adding members and adding members to the point where there is overcrowding. I feel the purpose of this is to add even more cushion to their already lucrative business. There are no longer machines available with the overcrowding and removing of machines. They are trying to get as many people they can to get an extra buck in Steve Cutlers pocket. Not only does the overcrowding make things worse, members continue to "reserve" machines with towels and water bottles so they can go back and forth between machines. This gym is not the place for that. If they want to do that they should go during non-busy hours or a cross-fit gym. The monthly fee doesnt bother me. I would be more than happy to pay the $100 a month membership, but its not worth it when I cant use the weights I want to, when they are doing remodels over a couple months taking their time, and closing down sections of the gym for long periods of time. Since everyone at this gym is paying more, the general manager Steve Cutler should at least greet everyone and be humble to everyone who come thru his doors. The second problem to him is that you do not exist to him unless you fit the perfect "hot model" mold. He will look right through you. Forget at even attempting to smile or give eye contact because you wont exist to him. Maybe sexism is to the extreme at Lifetime. Lastly, what is going on with the people that work here? The front desk barely smiles and Ive rarely heard anyone say goodbye to me as Im leaving. Its the little things that counts. Ive had several friends that I wanted to sign up to this gym but I told them not to join because there is no room to work out. Its heartbreaking because I loved this gym but I just dont know if Ill be able to go on like this if Im not getting the value out of it like I used to. --Concerned Lifetime Member
