I signed up for the SB gym, but I go here instead. Why? Its out of my way, and gives me alone time out of the house. Great, huge locker room. Good amenities. Very clean, I feel welcome and invited here. Cardio room is huge, plenty of everything. Not as many strength training machines as I would like, but its enough. The Smith Machines are really nice. Friendly, helpful staff. One star off for the encouragement of poor dietary choices through both the gyms pizza and bagel days, and the televisions constantly airing commercials for bad food in the cardio room.

The PF in Essex is remarkably clean, the staff is personable and helpful, and it is a very comfortable place to workout. The primary trainer is great and the membership & personal training costs are reasonable compared to most gyms in the area. The staff is constantly cleaning the place & it is very rare that there is something "out of order" or needing to be serviced. The manager obviously takes pride in this place & is frequently onsite assuring that this gym is running smoothly. Cant say enough good about this place.

Good gym for the price. Friendly staff, clean workout stations and clean (ish) lockerooms. Never too packed and I always feel comfortable going there and using whatever I want/need to use for my workout. I just wish they would put channels on that didnt show fried food being made or any other type of very unhealthy items. But I would definitely recommend joining and going here!

READ BEFORE YOU JOIN!! We joined Planet Fitness to have a gym to go when we were visiting family in VT, but since we are moving even further away, we decided to cancel it. YOU HAVE TO CANCEL AT THE PF YOU SIGNED UP AT. Too bad for us, that is 5 hours away! The only other way is to send a letter, all while racking up pro-rated charges. PF isnt as national as you think...

Horrendous staff. As soon as my wife and I walked in the 2 "men" at the front desk started talking crap about us. We were both taken back. "No judgment zone" obviously doesnt apply to employees anymore or holding a higher standard. Do not go to this location!

Good, cheap gym for beginners and cardio centered workouts. Gets crowded often, staff are friendly but not all seem to be knowledgable about fitness. Not great for heavy lifting centered workouts.

Great workout center with a friendly staff, plenty of treadmills/ellipticals, 2 sets of each dumbbell & plenty of machines for a quality workout for any experience level!

Great location, very nice cardio room and decent weight room set up. If they had a squat rack and barbells they would have it all. Cant beat the price and 24/7 hours.

Kind of a different setup. But I like it if Im in Essex. My only recommendation would be more benches in the locker room.
