The WORST Haircut I have ever gotten!! Ive been to many different Hair Cuttery locations in the DC area, and Ive never had a bad experience at any of them until now. I got my hair cut by a woman named Rubina (Im not sure of the spelling but that is about how it was pronounced). I explained to her that Ive been trying to grow my hair out for a while, and I just wanted the split ends cut off (about 1-1.5 inches). I told her that I also wanted "light layers" which is something I ALWAYS ask for at Hair Cuttery, and I again mentioned that I wanted to keep the length, which is why I was asking for "light" layers. She said she understood, then proceeded to cut about 4 inches of length off of the shortest layer, which was way too much. Not only that but after doing the initial layer trim, she kept going back to "even things up" and cutting more and more off of the length. She also cut my hair unevenly; the right side was considerably shorter than the left. It was so noticeable that I didnt even have to say anything, and she said "let me go back and even this up.." and then she cut the left side shorter than the right! She was about to go and "even up" the right side when I told her I had had enough and walked out. All in all, she took about 7, yes SEVEN inches off my length, after I had made it very clear that I only wanted 1-1.5 inches taken off. Ive been trying to grow my hair out for about 2 years and my hair is now about as short now as it was when I began, so obviously Im EXTREMELY upset, and I want everyone to know what a horrible experience I had there. DO NOT GO TO THE ROSEHILL LOCATION OF HAIR CUTTERY!!

Im a pretty simple dude, so $16 for a cut and shampoo works out well for me. Just make sure to sign in, especially if there are several people waiting in the lobby; otherwise, youll just be waiting longer. So the price is great; but there are two things I dont like. One, they ask that customers sign up for a key ring card to expedite checking in. Well, thats most certainly BS. That key card is to collect data and track visits (e.g., time, frequency, one or multiple locations, one or multiple stylists). I dont really want a loyalty card for something that I use 4-8 weeks. Second, the stylists comment way too much on my thinning/balding hair. I can see how it makes sense to observe and briefly comment/advise on it; but its now two times that a stylist from here has dwelled on it long after I made it clear that its genetic and there isnt much I can do about it (aside from using Nioxin, a fairly expensive shampoo that she was likely working up to selling...which I explained I have been using for the past 2 years). Anyways, I would think if youre in the aesthetics industry that you wouldnt want to overly highlight "womp-womp" topics like hair loss.

Worst haircut of my life. I usually go to a much better place, but its three times as expensive, and Ive been unemployed for nearly a year and cant afford it right now. I got the only non-Asian working there. Asian women usually do a great job with my hair, because my hair type is very similar to Asian hair (thin and completely straight). The woman who cut my hair didnt speak enough English to understand what I wanted, and the end result is that my hair is completely ruined less than a week before I start a new job. I dont even care about trying to get a refund. Getting $18 back is not going to make my hair magically reappear. Im furious.

Zee has been my hairstylist for over five years now, and theres a reason I keep coming back to her and followed her when she moved locations. She showed me how to embrace my natural curls n has turned my rats nest head of hair into hair I can easily style n want to show off. Zee did the perfect style for my wedding that fit my personality n lasted the whole night. My husband now comes to her n she gave my daughter the cutest first haircut. Quality service at unbeatable prices!

Decent haircuts at a decent price. I only trust 2 ladies there to cut my hair to my specifications-regardless of one of their language barriers. Very kind and patient stylists. Ive only gotten 1 bad haircut there ever and that was because I used a different stylist. TLDR; Affordable, find stylist for you, not a top tier boutique so dont cry/whine over cost/outcome.
