We used Blue Door Painters on two occasions for exterior painting and exterior/siding repair work. If you are looking for an affordable but top-quality painting service, look no further. We were extremely happy with Blue Door Painters on both jobs. Wed heard about Blue Door Painters through a neighbor who was working as a color consultant for Blue Door Painters. Debbie was absolutely fantastic--her color recommendations were right on the money and she was very thorough. The crew that came to paint the exterior was professional, punctual, and did a wonderful job. After an initial misstep in MY color choice (because I didnt listen to Debbie on ALL her color recommendations) he crew quickly accommodated the change. About a year later, we had BDP to repair woodpecker damage on our siding. Because the siding was older wood composite that is no longer manufactured and the jobs were small, we had trouble finding a repair company. Finally one of the siding companies recommended that we contact a painting company instead. Wow. BDP once again delivered. BDP understands customer service. They will call before and after each work and if theres a possibility that the work can be performed prior to the agreed-upon date, theyll call to see if its something you desire. We believe in the adage that you get what you pay for. With BDP, you get more than what you pay for.

We first contacted Blue Door for a quote on a house that we had just purchased---we wanted a few rooms touched up. Blue Door gave us a detailed proposal and we were confident about moving forward. Then we found out that we needed to do a lot of electrical work, so instead of painting the rooms according to the proposal, we had Blue Door wait on hold until the electrician finished ripping up the walls and ceilings. Blue Door gave us a second estimate for repair to the walls and ceilings. Blue Door provided us with a written estimate that precisely identified all painting to be done. The worked around our renovations schedule and handled the sudden curve-balls thrown by the electrician. They did an excellent job on the repair of the drywall. Items that we left in some of the rooms were moved aside or re-packed in the box that we had left. They did an excellent job on the painting and were very conscientious in addressing minor problems that we identified. Price was quite reasonable. We were very pleased with Blue Doors work. Ive engaged painters on four different properties. Blue Door was the best. They were careful and responsive. They took off all of the plates before painting the walls. I would certainly use them again.

I hired and paid Blue Door Painters to paint exterior of home and garage. Blue Door painters did not complete the exterior paint job I contracted them for. I withheld partial payment until Fernando Velasquez and I came to an agreement that they would return to complete job and correct multiple issues such as, paint on windows. However, after I paid my emails and calls were ignored. Blue Door Painters never return to finish the job or correct issues. Issues included: paint on windows; primer but no paint; no second coat; paint on stairwell railing; paint over dirty door although job included power wash. I filed a complaint with Fairfax County in an effort to resolve issues or get a partial refund. Yet again, Blue Door Painters specifically, Fernando Velasquez was not responsive with Fairfax County or myself. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The job was sloppy, unprofessional, and incomplete. Workers came late with no call and do not speak very little to no English. The "face" to the company is not the "face" that shows at the job site. I contacted Blue Door Painters because my family moved to a new house and needed to change the color of my sons room from purple to yellow. We wanted to get the job done quickly so that we could move furniture into his room and decorate it (he was also not a huge fan of the princess painted on the wall!). When I called Blue Door on a Monday, Jeffrey answered, took the necessary time to understand my painting needs, and told me that Blue Door could get the job done that same week. Fernando came by a bit later to look at the room, take pictures, and ensure that Blue Door knew exactly what I wanted before starting the project. The very next morning, one of Blue Doors talented painters came to do the job -- and finished it that same day! The room looks incredible. To my sons delight, his room is now a cheerful yellow and there are no signs of purple princesses. I am extremely pleased with Blue Doors work, from start to finish. I highly recommend Blue Door to anyone looking for excellent, professional painting services by a business committed to meeting your needs in an efficient yet thorough manner. Five stars!

Superior job on the exterior of our home. Part of the job included some power washing. The did such a good job that we contracted for some additional power washing. The key to a good paint job is the prep. Blue Doors prep was excellent, esp on the exterior doors. I had painted the doors several times in the past and always ended up with a ridge around the edges from closing the door tooo soon after painting. My wife loves the fact the doors are now smooth. I obtained many estimates. Blue Door provided the most professional estimate I have ever received from a contractor. Not only did it include photos and a detailed scope of work, they included a copy of their business license and statement of insurance. Blue Door wasnt the least expensive, but when comparing estimates make sure you are comparing apples to apples. All of my other estimates were for a single coat of paint, Blue Door does two coats. We will definitely use Blue Door again.

Knowing my family would be coming back to the U.S. this summer to live in a house weve owned but havent lived in for six years, I contacted a number of companies for estimates of interior and exterior painting during a quick trip to the area in March. Blue Door responded quickly and professionally, surveyed the house with me and sent me an estimate which - while not the least expensive, was the most detailed and forthcoming about costs for various alternatives I might want done. Based on this, I selected Blue Door and was not disappointed. The color consultation service was invaluable (and free!) and greatly enhanced the selection process for the interior colors. They completed all the work within the week allotted, and any extra costs were discussed beforehand and agreed to (for example, we decided to add trim for some rooms). Overall I would highly recommend Blue Door and wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

My latest experience with Blue Door Painters, like my earlier experience, went very well. Blue Door gave me a detailed written estimate that was considerably cheaper than a competing estimate; they were able to fit me in to the schedule much sooner than I anticipated; they were in and out in one day; and they did a great job. The office folks were also very prompt, honest, and helpful throughout the whole job. Im a landlord and the tenants were very happy. Here is the email they sent: "The painters did an amazing job! Night and day difference." The price wasnt dirt cheap, but it was fair for the work done. It was as trouble free as these things can be. Ive used Blue Door before and Ill use them again. Description of work: The kitchen ceiling and a bathroom were repainted. The paint and plaster in the bathroom were in bad shape from a lot of wear, humidity, and some mold, and needed a lot of prep work.
