Twice now, I have brought them cans of paint that Potomac Paint had mixed and which covered my walls. The labels were clear with the name, number and mix codes but both times they were unable to match their own paint. They mumble something about the code being discontinued. How does that work? You sell (VERY expensive) paint and then when the customer needs more a few years later you cant help them? They try to be very nice at Potomac and cater to the neophyte home decorator with lots of shades and paint chips the size of billboards, but for my money, its Sherwin Williams/Duron from now on. Duron can always match paint that they sold - no matter how long ago. Their paint is better quality too.

I love shopping for paint and asking questions at this store. I have never made an appointment and have seen the color designers pretty busy but they are excellent. They helped me greatly. The paint guys are really helpful too. I did not have the same helpful experience in Alexandria so, even though I moved closer to Alexandria, I go back to the Arlington store. The Potomac stores are my favorite for quality products.

I dont know what the other reviewer is talking about regarding needing an appointment. I just talked with one of the color designers the other day for over an hour as a walk-in. The color designers are really helpful, as are the paint people. This is a good place to shop for paint. P.S. The web address provided is wrong. I dont know if the store has a website.
