Holtz is without exception the best painting company that you will ever find on the U.S. East Coast. They practically restored the interior of my Queen Anne Victorian, which has very elaborate trim and plaster walls. In addition, they did everything that was required to properly paint new wood (such as interior doors that we had made to duplicate the originals that were in the house) so that you didnt see the grain; they sanded between coats. They have made several visits to our house during the course of the restoration, and they will make at least one more--it is a job that has had to be done in stages. The painter they send to head up the job each time is excellent; he know everything about painting, including all the subtleties, and he is committed to doing things right.

HJ Holtz has helped me out twice. Before I moved into my new condo they painted the entire place in a variety of colors and did an outstanding job. No mistakes, on time and on budget. Then a couple of years ago when I remodeled by master bath they were first choice to paint the ceiling in a fabulous metallic and papered the walls with a rather expensive paper. When the general contractor made multiple mistakes in the hardware installation, requiring reappearing twice, Holtz did a great job and salvaged the space.

This company is amazing. I had them stencil my living room. I did not want wallpaper but I wanted the look of wallpaper and I got exactly what I wanted. I showed the estimator a picture and it was done exactly like the picture. The estimator and the painter were very professional, the price was extremely reasonable and the wall looks perfect. My friends are constantly asking me who did the room. I highly recommend this company.

Called to get an estimate on having my house painted, and an appointment was made with Shaw. On the day of the appointment he called and said there was a back up on 150 and wanted to know if he could just come by the next morning do the estimate and leave the information of course I said no problem. Well, I never got the estimate. All I received was his business card in my mail box, without an estimate. Two days later.

When they discovered my front door couldnt be painted as expected, even though it had already been removed, they notified me rather than doing a subpar job and charging me anyway. A bit pricey, but quality of painting is stellar and the Fine Paints of Europe collection is worth it. Neighbors are constantly complementing our front door.
