Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at Vostyle Salon. TL;DR: Went in for a balayage and a hair cut, was told to "trust" Reduoane and go with the color he recommended and I could come back and change it later, hated the color, went back and was told it would cost the full balayage cost to get the color I originally asked for, left and bought drug store hair dye to dye my hair back to its natural color. It started positive, I walked in on Saturday afternoon on impulse and left with an appointment two hours later with Redouane for a hair cut and a balayage. When I went back, I asked for a gray/silver color for the balayage; Reduoane insisted that a reddish brown would be better for me and that I should "trust him" and if I didnt like it, I could "come back next week and change it". This was my first mistake - I should have clarified what "change it" meant. Alas, I did not clarify and my second mistake was that I did in fact put my trust in Reduoane under the impression that if I did not like it, I could come back and get the color I originally wanted at no additional charge. Throughout the whole process, Reduoane made several comments about what I would be wearing when I go out that night, repeatedly saying that I should "wear a sassy dress" - I awkwardly laughed these comments away as I am sure they were well intended, but am including them in my review since other reviews mentioned similar comments from the staff. Aside from the balayage with color that Reduoane pushed me into, he also dyed two strands of my hair to "frame my face". After Reduoane finished dying and styling my hair, I was appalled with these streaks - they made me look like Pidgeotto the Pokémon. I made Reduoane dye them back to black immediately, which he did. After he re-dried my hair, I was still very clearly dissatisfied with the look, and Reduoane told me to "take a days to get used to it" and to come back if I wanted him to "fix anything". I went back on Tuesday afternoon and expressed that I wanted to change it to the color I had originally requested, and the stylist I spoke to seemed shocked and commented on the level of effort that would take. I snippily commented that "hes going to have to do whatever it takes, isnt he?" and made an appointment for Wednesday evening. Upon arriving on Wednesday evening, I waited for roughly 7 minutes for Reduoane to arrive for my appointment. I asked him if this would cost me money, and he said that to go to gray it would but he could do any of the colors they have on the wall. When I said no to that, Reduoane commented on my age and said I was "too young for hair like that". I thanked him for his time and walked to CVS to buy black hair dye to change all of my hair back to its natural black color. I will say though that I am very satisfied with the hair cut I received from Reduoane, unfortunately it does not make up for the terrible experience coloring my hair, derogatory remarks and poor customer service.

I had called to ask for the estimate for a shoulder length hair cut. I was told it wold be $60-$65.00. The guy on the phone was friendly and got me into getting my makeup done too for a dinner I had to go that night. He said the make up price would be $70.00. Two days later I walked into to see the place and Rizwan the hairstylist was there. He said he would do my hair but he would give color, highlights, style and cut $~ 200. I would get a 10% discount as first time customer so the total for all would $ 270.00. I declined makeup keeping in budget and went to get a hair done for $200.00 as the estimate was given to me. It took 4 hours because the stylist was doing 2 people at the same time and also trying to help out others. There were extended period was time when I was waiting for my turn. He did a fantastic job with my hair but charged me over $300. When I said that was not the estimated cost he gave me himself when I came just two days ago, he flat out denied and said he did a lot more work on my hair. I have been to many good places in DC with extremely posh salons, serving wine in wine glasses and even desert fro my birthdays including one on one extraordinary service but charged far less than that amount with an outstanding hair cut, style color including highlights. I was very disappointed with his dishonesty and I will not go there again.

I added a star because I did get a good haircut. However, I will not be going back to Vostyle due to the unprofessional and inappropriate behavior displayed by the stylists. Everything was fine until I was getting my hair shampooed and a woman walked in. She and my hairstylist - Luciano - immediately got into an argument, which escalated to the point where they were screaming at each other for several minutes. This is a very small salon and everyone was incredibly uncomfortable. Eventually, a fellow coworker intervened and the woman (who I believe was another coworker) left. Luciano at this point began to cut my hair, but then abruptly, and with no explanation, left several times to go outside. During the next hour or so that he was cutting my hair, he brushed my hair very roughly and dropped the brush on my head twice (hard enough that it left a bump). Overall, it was an extremely unpleasant experience and I will not be back.

If i can give 0 star i would i called to take appointment for consultation they asked me to come at 2 pm and when i came they didnt even know that i called or i need the person i talked to. I had groupon they said we don t accept it and the girl working there was so rude to me and i showed her pic of colour i wanted she said she cant my hair is already colored. What kind of profesionel answer is that. I never recomand anybody to come here bad service bad staff waisted my time for nothing

Great salon, great location across from Ballston metro stop, and phenomenal stylist and colorist - Redouane. You can call or book on line - request Redouane (Red-Wan) and you will be very happy and likely will follow me in a relationship that is going on a decade now. My son is 17 and also only gets his hair cut with Red! I have lived in Arlington and Falls Church - and many years overseas - I fix my schedule to get to Vostyle and Redouane.

A year ago a friend referred me to Vo Style (Rami) and since then I havent been to any other Hair dresser. Love the place, and the service I receive every time I go there. I have my hair cut, style, and coloring done there. The product they use are really good, my hair looks and feels healthy. Its my go to place and I highly recommend this hair salon!

Omg love love love this place! Samile and her team were really accommodating and gave me great advice during my cut and color experience. I desparately needed to update my look and she took the time to explain what would work best. Staff was very friendly the from the moment I walked in the door. Would highly recommend this place!
