Beware of the vindictive and libelous review from customer "Abas75/"A.H." below (they are the same person writing the one review twice). This review contains incorrect and libelous statements from a disgruntled customer who attempted to impose her will on our company to get free work. The customer contacted us to extend an electrical circuit for an oven. The job required installing a junction box where the existing outlet was, and running a new wire and installing an outlet where the new oven was going to be. The technician informed the customer of how he intended to do the job, showed her the job when he was finished and she made no objections at that time. She did not contact us with a complaint until three weeks later. The customer stated that we left "exposed" electrical wires. The wire that was exposed was insulated and all work was done in accordance with electrical code and would have passed any electrical inspection. The customer was displeased because she wanted to put a refrigerator where the junction box was installed and she wanted to be able to recess the appliance more, which would have required us to re-install and recess the junction box. The "clipboard man" to whom she refers is an electrician with 15 years experience, who came to her house with every intention of working with her and her husband to address her concerns. She immediately became upset and belligerent when we were unwilling to re-do the work for free. Her husband even took time to apologize for her conduct to the technician who dealt with her. It is not fair for a customer to be able to slander a company on this comment board without consequence.

Called Fitch when my water heater wouldnt stay on. Service tech was timely, clean, polite, and courteous. Diagnosis was spot-on (needed to replace the ignitor). Tech left and said owner would call me back with price for the part. Owner didnt call back (that day). When I called shortly before 5, I was told the owner had left for the day. I happened to talk to a neighbor who had the exact part I needed, and they gave it to me, so I called Fitch back to see if they could come out the next day (and to cancel the part order that I presume had never been ordered since I was never given an estimate) Played phone tag for a bit with the receptionist who wanted me to talk to the tech. Eventually I talked to the tech, who didnt know why I needed to talk to him, since the receptionist maintained the schedule. Talked to the receptionist again, who was trying to get the tech to come out during his lunch hour. After no call back for a half hour, I called a different company who came out and replaced the part within a half hour of my call. Just received a bill from Fitch for the diagnosis and lack-of-estimate.

The water main broke from our home to the street. We were insured for such an occurrence by Dominion Power. The power company contracted with Fitch Services to repair the main. Two young men (Chris and Preston) first defined the scope of work with us and submitted it to the power company. A few days later they arrived and completed the repair in one full day. The workers were very professional and were meticulous in returning our property to the way it appeared before all the digging and drilling. They carefully removed and replaced plants, and the gravel in our driveway, and the concrete on our porch. We are very pleased with the work that was done and will call this company again for services and will not hesitate to recommend it.

Fitch Services replaced our AC unit and we were happy with that work. However, when we hired them to install a kitchen sink and dishwasher, our experience was terrible. I work in carpentry and I know how much trade services should cost in terms of time and materials. Fitch Services way overcharged us. They billed 7 total hours and the hourly rate of four workers for a simple sink and dishwasher installation (and the sink was already in place). It cost us close to $800. We called Mr. Fitch and asked why the bill was so high, but did not receive a satisfactory explanation. Also, the work was sloppy and I had to go back and fix the caulking. Ive never been so ripped off.

This company came out to fix our furnace yesterday. This afternoon it started making horrible noises. My wife called the service line who forwarded our message to the service tech who was supposedly "on-call", Bob. he immediately tried to avoid coming over, as my wife (while holding our 6 mos. old baby) explained that she thought that he was "on-call". Bob started shouting, eventually hanging up on my wife. We are currently sitting in a home with no working furnace while looking at a bill for 631 dollars from this company. I wouldnt wish this stress on any family, particularly one with a new baby as the weather turns COLD!

We had Fitch fix both our AC and furnace. We spent about two years trying to fix our AC with another company and eventually basically gave up. In a last ditch effort we called Fitch and they fixed it in an hour. Last Saturday our furnace broke. Within a few hours after calling them they had somebody at our house. While they werent able to fix the problem on that visit they were back first thing Monday and were able to get it working in no time. All people I worked with from the woman that scheduled our service to the technicians were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. All in all - it was a great experience!

AWFULL! Beware, this company is awful and they will go all out to fight you in court. The owners son Chris Fitch is the companies own personal attorney to fight all the disputes they have against them. He spends hours making up new names to post fake positive remarks. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Do your homework and check out how many times they are in court with customers. They do a pretty good job of hiding it on the internet because it is his full time job to do so. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I know from personal experience and I have also heard it from other folks in our town.

I recently had a need for air conditioning service and just didnt want another day to go by without sharing the experience I had with Fitch Services. First of all, they answered their telephone immediately (no long msg about how their options had changed); they suggested several quick fix options trying to get my service working and getting me out of the heat; they had a technician in the area and contacted him and told me they would fit me in and someone would be at my home THAT DAY. Now, that is what I call SERVICE...one cannot go wrong with Fitch Services!!

Hot water heater was serviced 6 times in the first year of ownership. When it broke the 7th time in month 13, Fitch recommended replacement at the tune of $1750. Everyone agreed that they the manufacturer should replace the unit, but Fitch offered no help to make this happen. Then they sent me another $90 invoice confirming what I already knew my hot water heater is "inoperable". The folks at the front desk and the technicians were all very nice, unfortunately the do not stand behind the products they install.

I am proud to say I have been a client of Fitch Services since they began. My family has always received courteous and timely service for plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and electrical issues. They have installed and maintain a whole house generator. That was a fantastic decision. I use their annual maintenance plans for all of my systems. I personally recommend Fitch Services. Barbara G.
