I have been here 4 times over this year and every time I am reminded why I shouldnt come back. The first time, they butchered my haircut (pompadore) So I had to wait 2 agonizing months for it to grow back out enough for a real barber to take care of it. The Second time they cut my hair lopsided. Again, another month before I could get it fixed and have everything balanced out. The Third time I wanted to have the sides shaved (or as close as they could get it) and the top evened out in order to grow my hair out. The woman cutting my hair had such little confidence in doing what I described having done that I simply told her to shave the sides and call it a day. That haircut was a train wreck. This morning I made it clear I was on a time crunch. Again, I was aiming for short sides and an evened out top. I had made it clear when I sat down that I was on a time crunch (this shouldnt have taken more than 15 minutes anyways) she stated that she wanted to shampoo my hair first before messing with it. I didnt have time for it so I said to hell with it. Shave the bastard all the way around. She did. Im not sure how you screw this up, but my hair is now lumpy in spots...I have lines around my crown. "Shampoo should get rid of those lines." Shampoo isnt a cure all. I use shampoo once in a blue moon after intensive manual labor or the likes. Otherwise I thoroughly rinse my hair and call it a day. This Hair Cuttery may possibly have the most inept stylists in the city of Chesapeake. Is this your training location? If so it should be stated somewhere in the store. I DO NOT recommend this location to anyone looking to have their hair done. Select one of the other 8 in the area or visit one of the numerous other barber shops. Hair Cuttery has lost my business for the rest of their existence.

I am new to town and just needed the dead ends cut off. A new technique was used which cut off a ton of hair from the bottom/underneath. I didnt want a shampoo because I dont like all the chemicals in the ones they had so they just sprayed my head with water yet I still had to pay $17 for the shampoo and cut. It bought me time to find a regular place to cut my hair but definitely not worth $17 and 10-15 min.

The old ladies at this place are slow, rude, and can barely cut hair. Yesterday was the last straw as I waited for over an hour and hadnt been called back yet when two of the old ladies were cackling like a bunch of hens. Dont waste your time.

My son and I have gone to this Hair Cuttery twice and weve had 3 different stylists. Theyve all done a GREAT job. They get you in and out quickly while doing an awesome job and making sure youre satisfied first. Highly recommend!
