I would not recommend Rocktown Realty. We rented for nearly 2 years with limited to no issues. However, in our final months as renters- it seems the office had a large turnover in employees which resulted in poor communication and rude service. With about 4 months left in our lease, we decided to buy a home. Of course we knew when we purchased a home- we would need to find someone to sublease (we understood this and were fine with paying any fees associated with subleasing). We were able to quickly find renters and began the sublease process. After we had already began the paperwork, Rocktown contacted us saying they decided they were going to sell the house at the end of the lease (thus, would not give the new renters a 12-month lease- like we were told they would have the option to sign), and they would not let us out of the roughly 3 1/2 months we had left of our lease. Of course- we were devastated and knew how difficult it was going to be to find someone to rent for such a short amount of time. It seemed as if they only decided to sell the house AFTER we said we werent renewing a lease and had found others interested. Poor communication- and our potential new renters were immediately un-interested and turned off by Rocktowns poor communication. Fast forward- we were able to find someone who was interested in our short natured lease (which we ended up paying some money "out" just to avoid paying both a mortgage and rent). They took 2+ weeks to "process" our new sublease, sent me emails saying there were "several issues" with our potential renters, but then decided to take them? It was like they were just trying to discourage us to try and find someone to short-lease our townhome. After we got our security deposit back- we received a rather expensive charge for a "cracked microwave frame" for a microwave that was easily 15+ years old and extremely noisy (I had put in a complaint about this while I was renting), and really the list if issues we had with Rocktown in our final months only gets longer. Perhaps the most frustrating part of this experience is after we were told at the end of the existing lease there was NO possibility for extension (otherwise we could have advertised it longer availability)- however, our current subleasees are still in the home almost 2 months after our lease was scheduled to end. I am so thankful we will never have to deal with Rocktown Realty ever again. Our entire sublease process was truly a nightmare. Of course I had a lot of questions during the process. Often times it would take 48+ hours for Rocktown to respond to an email. They would NEVER return phone calls. In particular, avoid talking with Gracie, as she was extremely rude to us during the process- and at one point she told me to stop calling the office with my questions. We were desperate to find a sublease for our home, and we really feel we were taken advantage of by Rocktown who realized the situation we were in. For that reason- I would not recommend renting from this business.

Honestly, I never really review places or services but Rocktown was not a great place to rent from. Our AC was out for well over a week and they were not helpful and not even very sympathetic. At first they said it should be fixed in a day, then it was two days, then they had to change the whole unit. They shouldve checked that before we even moved in. I had to call multiple times and one of the ladies were incredibly rude about it too and when I had told them someone said it shouldve been fixed within a day or so, she started arguing with me saying that "no one had said that." Also, imagine me and my two other roommates surprise when one night a random girl had come in and told us she was our new roommate. It wouldve been nice for them to have at least warned us? It didnt help that we were in the midst of asking our friend to fill that fourth room only for us to have to tell her we apparently had a fourth roommate we didnt even know about. My window was also broken and it took a while for maintenance to come fix it and when they did they left the light on in my room the entire weekend and by the time I had come back, the bulb was blown. I called for them to fix that twice and they never ended up doing it. These were only some of the big problems we had. Camden itself is great and I would recommend living in the town homes but rent from someone else if possible.

We rented from Rocktown Realty for three years and NEVER had a single issue. Any questions we had were quickly answered, and any requests we had were fulfilled efficiently. We rented a townhome in Camden our first year. The unit we were supposed to move in to had not been cleaned properly by the hired cleaning crew, so our landlord gave us the choice to move permanently into an even nicer unit where everything was clean & taken care of. Our second & third year we moved to a newly renovated apartment in Hunters Ridge. They even asked us about some details that we might want personalized in the apartment. We had our own furniture but asked if we could be provided with a few items of their own. They were happy to outfit our apartment with whatever we asked for and the items were nice & brand new. In summary...Rocktown Realty is a rapidly growing company with a very kind and appreciative staff. They put the needs of their tenants first & really do care about them. Thank you for a great three years, Rocktown! Special shoutout to our Property Managers, Lauren & Julie!!

Absolutely the worst place you can rent from, even though they offer "cheap prices", it will cost you more than youd expect. They will literally make your life a living hell, they are very unprofessional, unorganized, rude, disrespectful and greedy. Their places are unsanitary and they charge YOU for it. Probably the most unethical business youll ever deal with, they will literally stalk you and threaten you to get what they want. Their "maintenance" is a complete joke. Dealing with these people was the worst experience of my life, I could write pages about how bad it was for me and for a lot of people who have shared their stories about that place and its management with me...

As far as rental property management companies go, Rocktown is one of the best I have worked with. No realtor is perfect, but they have been reasonably responsive to our needs and take care of needed repairs in a timely manner. When we first moved into our condo, there was a delay in getting us a new washing machine so they gave us $100 off our first months rent. My one complaint would be that it can be difficult to get a reply to a call or email, and we sometimes have to contact them multiple times to get ahold of someone. However, aside from that, they are a good company to rent from.

I just moved out of a property. I was charged $203.50 for carpet cleaning which is kind of annoying since the carpets were so dirty they turned our feet black when we moved in. Whatever. They then charged us $646.50 (conveniently the rest of our deposit) for "above normal wear and tear of walls" There were no holes in the walls, so they basically charged us $650 for paint. To add insult to injury, the walls were not even painted when we moved in. There were scribbles of pen all over them and splotches of different colored paint. I am livid.
