Sub-Par Food, Bad Service Two reviews- one for food, and the other for bar staff that condoned women getting harassed by "locals" who were disrespectful My wife and I went to Tuscarora for a quick date night; with the expectations that Tuskies was a high end place for a couple of drinks and fancy setting. Unfortunately, we had an experience that ruined our night and convinced us of the opposite. Be careful of the a group of "locals" who will act like the place is a strip club and offend female patrons. Regarding the food- the calamari was of the frozen variety and extremely greasy. The bartender immediately took it off the bill with such benevolence it seemed as though he expected it to be poor quality. Now for the service- at around 10:30 a group of guys came into the bar and stood behind us. They were loud and rowdy, and dropping F-bombs every other word. Thats OK for a sports bar, but when you expect a nice setting like Tuskies, it was inappropriate and distracting. Then it got worse, as women walked past the group of guys, they started making vulgar and derogatory comments while walking to the bathroom. Several women at the bar became uncomfortable and had to use alternative exits to avoid the group. As my wife went to the bathroom, they were so offensive in their comments that I had to ask the bar staff to address the group. Thats when the bar tender told me he couldnt do anything because "they were locals" and I should leave instead. Im not willing to patronize a place where staff and management condone behavior that belongs in a strip club- what a disappointment. I decided to write this review after we discussed our experience with another restaurant who confirmed that group of guys commonly disrupt the place and people complain to no avail. In fact, the next day our neighbor confirmed a similar experience. Hey Tuskies- No amount of business from a group of "locals" is worth offending the rest of your customer base. I live in Leesburg, but I guess my wife and I are not "local" enough to be treated with respect. Dont give this place your money nor let your wife/girlfriend/daughter get assaulted by these pigs. Until Tuskies improves their food and management, Im staying away.

Ive waited since Friday to write this. We have enjoyed Tuscarora Mill in the past. Our last experience will have us not going again. We both ordered the specials of the evening. Boar chops and the spear fish which the wait staff said was flaky white fish grilled. The first part of the fish was flaky. However the rest was raw. When this was brought to the attention of our wait staff she took it back. I assume it was the bus boy who brought the rest of the fish back, not a new portion, and more or less tossed it on the table. It was well overcooked by then. After bringing it to the attention of the head waiter he proceeded to argue it was like seared tuna. I didnt order seared tuna. I ordered "white flaky fish" He eventually decided to remove it from our bill. This is a high end place. For the money you spend it should be done right and with out attitude. Silver Diner was much classier. When my nieces order was overdone the manager brought her a new plate of food with apologies. He told her he wanted us to come back and gave us a coupon for a free meal. There was no arguing. We will not return and have advised our friends as well. I thought a gift certificate from a nice restaurant for my daughter and her fiance would be a great gift. It will not be from Tuscarora Mill.

Best all around restaurant in the DC burbs! This place is our all time favorite. This is the place we take all our loved ones, friends, fellow chefs, savants, and people you need to impress (like your in-laws!). The food is incredible every time, the beverage selection is widespread and handpicked and they never cease to amaze us. My husband and I have been frequenting Tuskies since he introduced me to this wonderful place about 4 years ago. We are total foodies and I cant think of a better place to go for all occasions. Where else can you go to dinner in jeans and be served a carefully thought of amuse bouche?! Weve been to beer dinners there, dining on their patio in the summer to enjoy live, dinner appropriate music, birthday celebrations, brunches, you name it! One of my favorite things about this spot is they really go the extra mile to make it special. For example, I took my best friend here for our joint birthday dinner and when we were seated, Tuskies had special menus printed that had said Happy Birthday to us! Just let them know of any special occasions when you make a reservation. For certain occasions you may even receive a wine glass filled with luxurious chocolate truffles.

I really enjoy the aesthetics of this restaurant, although it seems like it tries to be something it is not. One of my associates and I ordered an iced tea and my other associate ordered a lemonade. The iced tea tasted like Lipton mix, and the lemonade tasted like Minutemaid from a fountain. The water tasted like my friends play pool. I started with the Ahi Tuna app. The seared rare tuna portion was decent, but the smoked tuna portion reminded me of a tuna salad. The grilled brioche was fun, but I dont think Id order this starter again. One of my associates ordered the Bucatini and Meatballs. Big mistake, but we warned him this was not the establishment to order Italian fare at. I ordered the Athenry Farm Chicken which was made even more enjoyable by their smooth whipped potatoes. To me, the portion size of the chicken was akin to a cornish game hen. It was good, but didnt stand out as exceptional. Our waitress, Kathleen, was very attentive. I may return another day to try a different app and entree.

Excellent experience tonight. Had the beef fondue - simple but the small pieces of meat are cooked to absolute perfection. I had the wild game as my entree - came with venison (3 oz) and duck/fois gras stuffed sausage. I went as far as to tell the server that the duck/fois gras sausage may have been the best thing Ive ever had. Period. Venison was cooked to an absolute perfect medium and was great. Wife had the duck breast... what can I say, whenever theres duck on a menu - we go for it. She didnt complain - or come close. Dessert was the cheesecake bites for her and a special - chocolate tiramisu - for me. No qualms, excellent quality, taste. She had a house cabernet, I ordered a golfers delight... strangely an excellent drink. We dropped 120$ on the bill, but it was incredibly with it. Food was cooked and served with absolute precision, service was spot on.

We parked at Market Station and headed over to the Doner to meet our friends before heading over to Tuskies for dinner. To our surprise, our car was towed because we did not head directly into Tuskies. The towing cost us $150 and we had spent over $150 for dinner at Tuskies. We been going to Tuskies for 14 years and are delighted that the "Beermuda Triangle" has developed into a vibrant area for locals. But now, Tuskies is going to punish its own customers by towing them without warning after years of letting people park in the lots. I am livid and will not be patronizing Tuskies, Fireworks or any of the businesses associated with Market Station. There are plenty of other fine restaurants in Leesburg who wont tow me after I have given them my business.
