FOLLOW UP TO NEGATIVE REVIEW SEEN BELOW: In less than 24 hours of posting a negative review on FB and here on Google Reviews, I received a call from the manager of the AAA Car Care Center (In Midlothian, VA). He was extremely apologetic, explained some issues that they had in the center, that personnel had changed, and wanted me to give them another chance. He offered me some incentives to come back, as well as a few other things that were very much appreciated. I was honest with him and said that right now I dont really want to bring my car back, but that could change if I dont see any more negative reviews over the next few months. I felt that he (Chris M) cared and truly wanted to make things right. I appreciate that this was taken care of promptly, as customer service during difficult times is far more important than when not. It goes a long way with me and I do hope that the problems that led up to my negative review have truly been rectified. (Note: I added a star, from 1 to 2, as the manager deserved one just for contacting me so quickly and trying to right a wrong.) ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW ******************************************** Very disappointed that this is a AAA car center My son took our car for an oil change and came home with an estimate for a new tie-rod, for over $300. The service man said that without it, he doubted it would pass inspection and is dangerous. He said we should have it fixed asap. Today my son took the car for an inspection at a garage we have used in the past. They are a family run business, but they dont take appointments and it isnt close by - but boy am I glad he went there! Not only did the car pass inspection, but there is NOTHING wrong with the tie rod AT ALL! I am appalled that AAA has their name on this brand new facility. I have been a AAA member off and on for about 30 years and I thought that I could trust this place. Apparently not, and from reading other reviews this is apparently a theme there. I have already shared this experience in the sub-division private FB group and am not the only one who had this happen. Perhaps it is time for them to close up shop or change their deceptive and horrible ways, taking advantage of those who dont have a lot of money and know nothing about cars. I will never go there again, and not likely to pay for another membership, which is up in July. Shame on you AAA!

Awful. Not only do they charge for diagnostic services that most other places would include with the price of repair, they drastically over-charge for parts. Additionally, they wanted to charge me $550 for two sensors that I didnt need, and an additional $400 to "inspect" for additional damage. Only come to find out the problem is a widely known issue and that the dealer was able to perform the repair at absolutely no charge - a service that would have cost thousands (more) at another shop. I chose not to have them perform any service and instead had them top off my car with oil, for $20, which costs more than their entire oil change service, and I took my car to the dealer. All in all I get out of here spending $145 for a "diagnostic" and to top off my oil. Only come to find out that the diagnostic was incorrect, they didnt even add oil to my car, and they left parts unplugged before I left. When I spoke to the manager about this extensive issue he said he would give me my money back and that I needed to sign and send back a form for the refund. The form he sent me was a General Release Form - essentially saying that I would give up any legal rights against AAA for possible damage to my car in order to get my refund. Ridiculous. They over charged to begin with, didnt even give me the oil I paid for, and left my car unable to perform correctly when I left. They should do the right thing and simply refund my money, but instead want to make it some sort of legal settlement. Dont trust this place, over charge for labor (more than the dealer), ridiculously over charge for parts (more than double than what the dealer charged), and will tell you need to replace things that are unnecessary. Only reason this place has business is because its new and clean. Any other shop with these practices would go out of business. Do not trust their service or prices.

Do NOT take your car here. I have a AAA membership and decided to being it here since I got a discount. My exhaust pipe had broken and they called and told me it was going to be over 680 dollars to fix! I went to the shop and when I walked in they were like "oh we found a cheaper solution" which was around $480. I took pictures went to the muffler shop down the road where they told me they would do the job for $245. I went to take my car and they were going to charge me $100 and wouldnt let me to tie the pipe up to drive it down the road (which doesnt matter since I could get it towed with my membership again). The manager came up and told me there was a pricing error and the job would actually be around $275 after all was said and done. I decided against my best wishes to let them go ahead and do the work to save money since they were going to charge me $100 to take it off the lift. When I went to take my car there was a rattling sound, they forgot to place a bracket back on. It was still loud but I decided to leave. Now Im getting my car inspected and theres a leak in the exhaust where the work was done. Save your money and stay FAR AWAY from this place. The headache and heartache isnt worth it. Im super disappointed with this shop.

First, I think they do quality work but they will charge through the nose and pressure you to do unnecessary work. As AAA member I expect better treatment and they take advantage of young drivers. My son took car in for an inspection. They told him it failed due to wiper blades and a bulb. They them recommended brakes done soon, brake fluid flush and new tires for a total of over $1400. Last time he got car inspected they talked him into a trans fluid replacement that was not necessary. Told my son to tell them put a failed sticker on it and we would be back. Guy got upset and told him work was negotiable and what was he able to pay? That is absurd so he didnt buy into it and said again, put a failed sticker on. Looked at estimates they gave him and just the bulb replacement and wiper blade (yes, just one) was $142. Really? We replaced bulb for $2 and BOTH wiper blades for $10 with about 20 min of our labor. BTW, brakes were done a year ago, tires were relatively new (15-20k miles) with 7/32 of tread left and brake fluid was fine. Asked guy what basis they made recommendations on and he said mileage. This place is an absolute rip off and do not recommend using them.
