I began dancing at CDC going into my freshman year of high school. Best decision ever. Just within the first month, I improved more than I ever could have imagined. Although I was only in one class my first year at CDC, the teacher was as much interested in my growth and success as a dancer as she was in anyone elses at the studio. Not only did I see an indescribable improvement in my technique, but I also experienced tremendous growth in my artistry. CDC places a high emphasis on finding each individual dancers artistry, with improvisational exercises and encouraging their students to discover how to become not just a dancer that can perform tricks, but an artist. I absolutely love everyone I dance with. They inspire me in so many different ways, and the studio has become a second family to me over the past few years. Chesterfield Dance Center, with its qualified and respectable staff, is the most impressive place for dance instruction in the central Virginia area. Ever since the ownership was handed over to Carrie in 2006, the studio has seen nothing but changes and progress in the right direction. Its upgraded, new facility with spacious studios and accommodating areas for dancers and parents keeps everyone comfortable throughout the day. They are always organized with business aspects, returning phone calls/emails, and putting on a well-executed recital at the end of the season. With that being said, it’s not the state-of-the-art building that keeps bringing me back year after year. The dedicated teachers focus not only on technique, but style, performance quality, improvisation, and other skills important for the continued improvement of the dancer. Aside from the remarkable instruction, this studio is a family. New dancers and their families are constantly being welcomed with open arms. It is very apparent that each teacher deeply cares for the students by always displaying encouragement, love, and concern while maintaining a professional attitude in and out of class. The competition team consists of some of the most diverse and entertaining dancers of CDC, but unlike other studios in the area, regular students are regarded with the same importance in classes. They also go to conventions based solely on the caliber of the classes offered, not for the competition aspect of it. I would highly recommend this dance studio to anyone interested. I can guarantee you won’t regret your decision for your young dancer.

As a mother of 2 teenagers, I have been frequenting dance studios for over 12 years now. CDC is the third studio we have been to, and I can promise you it is the best! The instructors are super knowledgeable on technique and style but more than that they LOVE what they do and it shows. They are absolutely amazing with the kids. I have said to others in the past, at CDC the instructors want these kids to be great dancers, but they also want them to be great people. They care about the overall well being of the children. They are excellent role models, encouraging team building and giving back to the community! So, I love that my daughter is getting a top dance education and has a wonderful place, surrounded by great students and instructors to receive this. If you have a child who is interested in dance, whether they want an occasional class or to be part of a competition team, there is no better place in Midlothian than CDC!

Chesterfield Dance Center (CDC) is the best decision we made. We changed studios in 2010 and have not looked back. My daughter, Morgan was given opportunities that she would of never been given at other studios. Every dancer get a chance to be front and center. No dancer is ever left in the back row through a whole dance! The instructors are all amazing and devote many hours to the studio and show how much they love their students. The studio also has an outreach program to help communities in need of assistance. The whole studio participate with donation and volunteer. CDC is a family not just a dance studio! I highly recommend CDC to be the place for your child to learn dance, commitment, friendship, grow their talent and be loved by all.

My daughter has been dancing at CDC since she was 5 years old and one of the things I love the most about CDC is that the faculty have a genuine love for their dancers. A great family atmosphere with "family" photos all over the walls. We have been at CDC for four years now and my daughter never EVER wants to leave. Teachers always have hugs, and encourage dancers to be positive and supportive of others, give back to the community, and give dancers opportunities to give back as well. I cannot say enough great things about Chesterfield Dance Center!

We have been at Chesterfield Dance Center for a little less than a year. This studio truly has a family environment, so warm and welcoming, and each dancer is important! The owner and teachers go above and beyond each and every day making all of their students the number one priority! My daughter loves it, and I have seen so much positive growth in her dance and self confidence in our short time here. I only wish that we had moved to CDC years ago!

It once was great. This studio boasts excellent performance records; however they lack the ability to provide their students with equal opportunites. In other words, CDC has their favorite students and isnt afraid to show it. While the teachers and owners are very talented, they are immature and lack professionalism. The teachers should learn to support all their students equally so the studio doesnt turn into the next season of Dance Moms.

This is an amazing studio where ALL children, whether they are competitive dancers or not, are made to feel special and loved. We recently switched from another studio, and the experience here is night and day from that one. Teachers and staff are approachable, trained in dance education, and super organized! So thankful we became part of this dance family at CDC! It is the dance studio "gem" of Chesterfield County!!

My daughter has been dancing here for 4+ years and cannot get enough. The instructors are extremely supportive and interested in developing the character of the dancers in addition to their skill. I am regularly amazed at the talent level of choreography that they bring show after show. If you are looking for a place that takes dance seriously, but is still fun and low-key, Chesterfield Dance Center is that place.
