I have been going to this salon for ten years, since before they moved from their old location. Its expensive compared to other places, but I like the atmosphere, and the stylists always seemed to know what they were doing. However, the last time I went, I had extensions I had bought and colored, which were maybe 1-2 shades off my hair color. I wanted them placed and my hair cut to blend them in, and the color fixed up so it matched. The stylist didnt listen to my request about how to cut them, and completely muddled up the color on them. It seemed like she didnt know what to do with them, but decided to try anyway instead of handing the job over to someone who know what they were doing. After two more times of her "fixing them", which made the color worse each time, I finally asked the manager for a refund. They refused, despite the fact that Ive been a loyal customer so long. They paid me the cost of the extensions ($30) and one reconstructive treatment since I had to bleach out the ugly color she put in my hair (valued at $10), and my entire tax return that was supposed to make me feel great about my hair- hundreds of dollars- was a total loss. Clearly this salon does not value the loyalty of its customers. I have found a new salon thats better, more considerate of its clientele, and cheaper.

I have now been here twice to get my hair cut, and I think I have a simple haircut. The first time one of my sideburns was cut longer than the other and there were tons of long hairs left. The second time, I couldnt recognize that I had even had a haircut. The girl basically trimmed it up and didnt even do a good job at that. She was very unproffessional and seemed unexperienced since she cut herself twice during my haircut. It seemed like the last thing she wanted to be doing was cutting my hair that day. BOTH times I had to go to another hair salon to get my haircut fixed. I will never return here. The only good thing they have going for them is the massage chairs for hair washing. Guys go somewhere else. I think Great Clips would do a better job (even though I wouldnt go there myself).

I recently got my hair colored there and it didnt come out at all the way I wanted it. I have dark brown hair and wanted subtle blonde highlights. I made it very clear that I didnt want copper highlights but thats what I got. The colorist asked me to come back to fix it but it came out even worse :( This colorist did a great job with the cut which is why I decided to let her color my hair, but Im upset I paid $200 for highlights that made me avoid mirrors for about a week. $200 was NOT the price we discussed originally. Today I just paid $100 at another salon and got exactly what I wanted. I just can not get over how much I paid for something I hated. I was so upset that I left in tears, I believe I paid so much because of the two visits. I should not have had to pay so much.

I had an appointment for my 11-month-old son at 9am (which is when they open). I was there on time, waited 15 minutes in the lobby and was the only customer in the lobby the whole time. I finally asked the receptionist if I was the first appointment, so she went to see what was taking so long (it didnt occur to her to do this on her own even though I had been waiting so long). She came back and took a phone call without giving me any update. So after waiting 20 minutes for an appointment and not being seen I finally left. I was appalled at the lack of courtesy and customer service. I have been to this salon before for pedicures, haircuts, and a massage. There was one other time that I was kept waiting for 30+ minutes to get a haircut even though I had an appointment.

Hands down the best salon in the area. I have indulged in wonderful massages, facials and mani/pedis there. I would not go anywhere else. The fact that they offer so many services under one roof makes a world of difference. This is the also the only salon where I get my hair done. I get all my cuts and coloring done here. I will not go anywhere else, period. They sell wonderful products and the staff is extremely experienced with them, so I can trust their recommendations. The staff is extremely professional, courteous, yet down to earth. Design One has great hours, so it makes it easy to find a time that works with my schedule. Dont waste your time going from salon/spa to salon/spa, when you can get what you want done the right way the first time at Design One.

Worst experience of my life a few days ago here. I didnt wanna lash out at the salon just out of respect. But the stylist completely botched my haircut. I asked for parts on both sides just a little bit wider than usual and when she was done both parts were as wide as a quarter. I asked for only a bit trimmed at the top and it was short as ever and uneven. I had to get my fiancé to shave to a zero on my sides and back of head and now must wear a hat until it grows back. Will never return. Should of asked for my money back.

I recently moved here from out of state and my husband and I are very picky about hair stylists... this place is close to my house and I thought Id give it a shot. I didnt wait long to go back, when I met my new stylist she introduced herself with a handshake, and then sat me down and asked what I wanted done. The eyebrow wax was quick and fairly painless, it was the best shampoo Ive ever had, and the cut was marvelous!! I loved it!! They offer great deals and sales on their products. Highly recommend!!

Me and a friend went for a shellac manicure. That is hardly what we got. Not only did the girls not give us proper manicures (my cuticles looked worse than when I went in, seriously) but they could not even paint properly. It literally looked like 5 year old boys painted our finger nails. So disappointed, especially since we paid $38 bucks! I immediately went home and soaked my polish off and went to my usual place down the street for an AWESOME $12 service. DO NOT get nails done here.

We prepaid for a package of facials and every time I make an appt., at least two months in advance; they always cancel less than an hr. before the appt. The second time is the last time - I will be calling mgmt. to get my money back. Go somewhere else, Ive never been to a place that is very unprofessional, doesnt offer any alternatives and doesnt take in consideration the client needs and concerns. Why doesnt the salon have more than one person working on facials in the first place?

This is the best experience I have had at a salon. The wait is always minimal, they know your name, you are treated very well, the massage chairs at the wash stations are a treat. Everything is well done and has always been a pleasant experience. I perviously went to another higher-end salon and always waited a minimum of 20 minutes for my appt and was always frustrating. Never had that wait here.
