Recently I cut my long hair off to doante, and it resulted in another highly recommended Norfolk salon butchering my hair not once, but twice. Losing hope, the next morning I went to Salon Fringe and made an appt with Justin. I was welcomed with smiling faces and a great atmosphere, he told me exactly what needed to be done the second I walked into the salon. He even told me what the last person did wrong (to the tee!) & what he was going to do to fix it. I asked him how long he had been cutting hair, he said 17 years...the experience shows! When washing my hair I got a nice little scalp massage that pracically put me right back to sleep, the convo was impromptu & naturally easy, he picked up on my personality right away. As he was cutting he would consult me with changes or ideas on styling to suit my personality. He spent an hour on my hair, layering and texturing into a shorter assymetrical bob (originally, I wanted a sholder length bob) He dried and styled it, then even more layering and texturing, and I still havent found an uneven hair, for the FIRST time ever after getting my hair cut. A good hair cut is all in texturing and detail, that I should be able to wash it & go, whereas before Salon Fringe, I was spending more time on my hair short that when it was 20 inches long. He never pushed me to buy any product when I asked what he was using, just gave me ideas on styling. Its 4 inches shorter than I had originally planned in the first place, but I love the new cut so much. I might not even grow it back out like I had planned. I feel like a sex kitten- alive & liberated, like I am finally reflecting the real me! Amazing what a good cut can do! It was my third hair cut in a week, but I gladly would pay twice then go back to my previous salon for a free trim. I wish I found this place earlier!

My experience with Salon Fringe was a mixture of good and bad. First of all the location was fine, the décor of the salon is nice, although the salon itself is somewhat small. The receptionist was a sweetheart. I had scheduled an appointment for my daughter, and chose Salon Fringe after reading the reviews. I tried to schedule an appointment with Kevin or Justin, but they were booked solid. The receptionist recommended another stylist, and this is where the "bad" part of the review starts, the stylist, who I now call "Tight Bun with Stick Up Her Ass", was ridiculous and so pretentious. It was somewhat comical. Due to the time allotted by the receptionist, when I scheduled the appointment, Tight Bun wasnt able to do the treatment she recommended to my daughter, which I understood. As we talked about my daughters options, she stated that "the more we talk about it the less time I have to work on her hair." At that point I was ready to leave. Tight Bun acted emotionally distraught every time I asked her a question, which was a waste of time, considering she had to have Kevin or Justin answer for her. Kevin and Justin were very professional and knowledgeable. After the haircut and style, we returned to the receptionists counter to pay and Tight Bun looked at available times in the future for the recommended treatment she had suggested. At that point, I was watching Tight Bun squat next to the receptionist, while holding her head in her hands. I think her bun must have hurt. I have no plans on returning to see her or watch her idiot facial expressions one more moment. Someone needs to tell Tight Bun that the world doesnt revolve around her gloomy personality.

i called Salon Fringe totally last minute on a Saturday to see if they had an opening. not only was the staff completely friendly, but they were able to fit me in that same afternoon. the woman who cut my hair (Ashley was her name, if i remember right) was excellent, gave my hair a whole new life (and i have super cute bangs now!), really knew her stuff about what products would work well with my hair. the salon is stylish, very clean, and has a great ambience. ... flash forward to Saturday evening, when i realized that one of my stud earrings (a gift that i was heartbroken to lose) had fallen out somewhere over the course of the day. i called Salon Fringe first thing Monday morning and they had FOUND my earring and saved it!! i rushed down and picked up my earring as quickly as i could! happy ending all around, i LOVE my hair and i LOVE having my earring back! Salon Fringe has definitely made a loyal customer out of me. i will tell everyone i know how amazing they are.

I had an absolutely lovely experience with my stylist, William. From start to finish of my service, William was kind, professional, and engaging. I am very very thrilled with my cut. Im always wary of the stylist taking artistic license to cut off a few inches more than I asked for in the name of health of my hair. Instead of doing this, William recommended a moisturizing treatment which enabled me to walk out of the salon loving my healthy looking long hair and not heartbroken. The price was unbeatable. Which to be honest, I hadnt done any research on before handing over my card. I would absolutely recommend Salon Fringe to friends.

I came to Norfolk for my husbands surgery and had to get my hair done while I was here cuz Im in a wedding. I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. They got me in for a cut and color very quickly and Justin-who came highly recommended-was AMAZING. The salon was clean and very professional and everyone there was very nice. Justin is super friendly and after discussing what I wanted, gave me some suggestions and I went with it. I could not be more pleased with my hair. I live 4 hours away but I will be making the trip back to Norfolk to have Justin do my hair!!!

Worst color ever. I walked in with lots of blonde highlights - way too chunky highlights. After a 20 minute consultation we agreed on lots of color around the face and much less elsewhere. The general consensus is that I now have a lot of gray hair. The hair is brown and the highlights so fine as to appear gray. My natural hair doesnt have this much gray. Im getting a box from the drugstore to cover this lousy hair color. Considering I never asked to go back to having dark hair in the first place, Im afraid I cant risk the fix that was offered.

I have always LOVED Laura doing my hair, I originally started going to her while she was still in beauty school. Every place she has been to I have gone to and I can tell you this is by far the best place I have been to. While Laura is off taking care of her new baby she requested I see Courtney, and I LOVE HER! I have had many horrible hair cuts so it is hard for me to trust anyone with my hair. But Courtney is now on my very short list of those who I trust with my hair. LOVE THIS PLACE, WILL BE COMING BACK OFTEN!
