If you just need your hair cut and dont care what it looks like or if it matches your lifestyle or face, go here. They will cut your hair. I went on the positive recommendations I found here. My regular hairdressor was on vacation and I needed a cut. I had an appointment 30-minutes after I called with someone I was assured was excellent with fine short hair. I took a picture of myself with the haircut I wanted and the hairstylist and I talked about the specifics. I said I wanted a low-maintenance cut, one that looked great without product or blow-drying. The style that works for me is a slightly asymetrical cut with the back shorter than the front. The first sign that I was about to get the worst cut of my life was when the hairstylist parted my hair in the middle instead of the side. She continued to cut my hair without regard to my requested style or even my squarish face shape. I could tell the cut was turning out to be a disaster for her too and when she nervously grabbed product and the blowdryer and instead of just fluffing my hair with her fingers she really worked the brush to create some style. My hair looked like Id stuck my head into the path of a weedwacker. I cant believe I actually paid for this cut, but Im not very confrontational and the salon had other customers. I waited a week to see if I could "get used to it" but even with extensive product and blowdrying, it looked horrible. I called the salon to complain and get my money back. The owner insisted that she could fix my hair. I returned (mistake!). I explained what I wanted, showed her my pictures, and after an hour of cutting, she made such mess of what was left of my hair, I had to make an emergency appointment with my regular hairdressor to fix it. My hairdressor (Christie Adams Salon in Great Falls) said "its not a bad haircut, it just has no style and it looks incomplete". I like to have cuts where people say "I love you hair!" I get that all the time from Christie Adam cuts and even with Vidal Sassoon cuts. With my cut at Doubletake, not only did no one make such a comment, my friends and family made comments like, "what did you do to your hair."

Chau, the manager, is amazing! I called in desperation for a last minute appointment back in mid-February. She made an appointment and came in for me while the salon was actually closed!! Talk about customer service! I agree with the previous reviewer who said she asked a lot of very pertinent questions about my hair, my usual habits, my vision, etc. Then she did an AMAZING job of highlighting, lowlighting, cutting and styling my hair. I have a LOT of trouble getting my bangs to behave and she did the best job of cutting and styling them that Ive ever had. I am so grateful to her for going above and beyond by coming in during off-hours, but for also giving me an absolutely great color/cut. I have definitely found a new home for my hair!

Received a color glaze that was about 5 shades darker than what I was told it would be in my consult. Called back in later that night and was told to try washing it out and if I wasnt satisfied to come in the next day and theyd fix it. Went in the next day and the stylist threw a few highlights in, and to my surprise, also charged me another whopping $75 on top of the $125 I paid the day before. Also, during the initial visit the stylist had me blow dry my own hair while she went in the back and mixed my color. That shouldve been an indicator. Now I have horrid, dark, gothic-esque hair in springtime with brass highlights. Will not go back here.

Ive tried all the salons in Reston and was happy to stumble upon Doubletake Salon as I was driving home one night. They are right behind/underneath HSBC Bank (Harris Teeter shopping center), and you dont get that "strip mall" feel. Ive been three times so far and have had my hair done by Heather, Kelly and Chau (the owner). They are all amazing. I had a blowdry done yesterday and I have to say, I honestly had men doing a "doubletake" when I walked by (its been a while since anyones done that!). My husband loved what they did too. Three cheers for Doubletake Salon! You guys are magicians! :-)

From all the positive reviews, I decided to try out Doubletake Salon yesterday. I had an appointment with Chau, and she did an amazing job! Very friendly and asked me relevant questions that I swear, I have never been asked before (if I put my hair in a ponytail a lot, if I put any product in my hair, low maintenance vs. high maintenance, etc). I picked a picture out of a hairstyling book, and what I loved is how she cut my hair suited to ME, not the exact hairstyle in the book. Definitely recommend this salon!

I had over highlighted my hair and continued to do so for the past year or so to keep the roots from showing and then tried to dye my hair on my own a darker shade to let my hair heal from damage. Debbie looked at my hair, gave me options, and was able to make my hair look good and gave it a natural color. The price was reasonable and my hair looks lovely. Very kind woman, I looked around at the haircuts other being given by the other stylists and they were very stylish and well done. Thank you Debbie. :)

After admiring the style and cut of a friend, I finally made an appointment with her stylist, Chau. She has been cutting and coloring my hair ever since. During this time, I have asked about different styles and even going "natural" most of which Chau has gently talked me out of. My straight, thinning hair would not work with most of the styles I like, but Chau manages to find just the right texturing, shade, and finesse. I am happy I took the chance.

Nice place, cute dog. I just wont go back for another hair cut. Spent time looking at pics. Selected a style and she just kept cutting and cutting and cutting. I spent an hour in the chair. Longest haircut I have ever had and my hair is way shorter than the style in the pic, and doesnt even look close.

A nicely done haircut with great professionalism. Its a bit hard to find as its on the road side of the building, definitely dont confuse it with the Red Door Salon! Pricing is good for the area, and the staff is friendly.
