Last month my husband gave me a gift certificate to salon del sol for my birthday. I made an appointment over the phone with the receptionist for a hair cut and color. She told me Brittany was the only hairdresser that had openings for that day. So I made the appointment even though I had never been to that salon. I put my faith in them, thinking they would be better than a super cuts. OMG!!! Brittany was unprofessional and a mess. She was covered in tattoos and rolled her eyes constantly, as I was telling her how I wanted my hair cut. During my visit, she keep checking her phone and texting on her cell. Not to mention it was the worst hair cut and color. It took her forever to do my hair. I will never go back to her. Within days from my appointment, my hair was splitting and the damage was already done. I highly suggest that you do not go to her. I had to have my other hairdresser Tracy fix my cut and color. Thank god she was able to fix my hair for me.

I have been going to the same hair stylist for 10 years who is a very dear friend, but because she is always booked, it takes months to get an appointment. So I decided to try out Salon Del Sol. Im very big on color and was aware that was Brittanys specialty, so I figured she would be a great person to see. Im always ready to try something new and risky, and love being a stylists guinea pig, so I let her run with it to see what she could do. It was the best color I ever had and even faded well months after. I am a natural blonde/dirty blonde and asked for highlights and some red streaks and Brittany nailed it. This is definitely a complicated procedure as the red tends to want to run into the blonde when it comes time to rinse, but in the end, the color was flawless. If you are looking for something unique and hip, Brittany is the person to see. She was extremely intuitive and attentive to my needs. I highly recommend her, especially for color.

Love salon del sol, i have been going there for over a year now to see brittany, and she has been great. she has really helped me transform my hair into something i love. ive always had a hard time getting a stylist to just LISTEN to what i want, and she has been very good about giving me what I want. i disagree with samantha below, who appears to be judging people based on tattoos and outer appearance instead of ability which is unfortunate. it is also unfortunate if a person ACTUALLY has a bad experience with a stylist and bashes them anonymously on a blog, slandering an entire business instead of simply going back to get it fixed. im also fairly confident no stylist at salon del sol ever uses their cell phone on the job, i have never seen any stylist there do that. anyway, i would recommend salon del sol to anyone looking for a great relationship with a stylist who wants to listen to you! everyone there is awesome!

I started going here after my previous stylist was constantly booked. I went off a recommendation from a friend and started booking with Brittany. Although there is another review here bashing her, she is awesome. She does her job well and I always leave having had a great experience. As a person with tattoos, they have nothing to do with your job. Every time I go here I describe what I want Brittany to do and she does it to the T. Never had an issue with anyone texting or using their mobile while at work. In fact, I dont even think they can have them on the floor. Based off my experiences here, the staff is always warm and friendly and can always help you find the product you are looking for. I always get a perfect cut and have great conversation while doing it. I highly recommend this place for those under 35 who are not afraid of alternative culture, it seems to be suited for a younger crowd.

A great hairstylist is hard to find, but luckily Ive found the perfect stylist and I simply will not go to any other salon. I highly suggest Brittany! She is attentive, professional, and friendly. Brittany is the only one Ill trust with my hair. Shes excellent with highlights, all over color, styling, and cut. Shes up to date with hair trends and recently cut my hair from the middle of my back to shoulder length. I LOVE IT!! I couldnt ask for a better cut. In addition, Brittany cuts my boyfriends hair...hes definitely picky and he loves his cut as well. His cut is versitile and professional. On a side note, the employees on Parham are warm and inviting. Ive never had a bad experience and I highly suggest this location.

I had appointment with Helen and I told her was getting married and would like something pretty. I even told her that I had short hair and wasnt sure that an up-do was even possible. She trimmed my hair and then got work. An hour later I was is utter shock and tears. She gave me some weird bun and slicked down my bangs. Words cant describe how bad it was! In the back I had these weird spiral curls. One woman said my hair looked like a horrible prom hair gone wrong. Helen charged me 90 dollars and the salon wouldnt fix it. Helen told me she did the best she could do!! I couldnt believe it by this time I was bawling and thought my wedding was ruin but luckily I went to another salon that fix it. I will never go back there!

I have been going to this salon del sol location since it opened, and have seen a couple people within the company and ultimately ended up with Brittany. She is GREAT! I loved my hair before, and love my hair even more now, she has a great personality, is extremely professional, and has creative ideas if thats what youre looking for! She is able to feel out what youre asking for (as Ive experienced the opposite at other salons in Richmond). I read below, and to be quite honest that is the opposite of everything she portrays(and tattoos are not a reflection of your talent OR skill level), so that being said I continue to book with her before I leave the salon and will continue to do it! We were searching for a salon that wouldnt screw up my sons hair (like so many others have). Since he is bi-racial with the curly smooth hair, its a bit more difficult to cut than other hair.........just my opinion. We made an appt. at Salon Del Sol and Bria was my sons stylist. She told us she had just moved to VA from FL..........and boy are we glad! My sons hair was out of control, but she showed him a few pics on her tablet and he chose the one he wanted. He has gotten so many compliments on his new hairstyle, and it is so much easier to manage. After years of searching, we found the right stylist, just hope Bria sticks around for a while.

Being a guy and finding a quality place (something a few steps above Mastercuts and the like) isnt always easy to do. Ive been going to this salon for almost 2 years now and have never felt more comfortable getting my hair cut and styled. All I have to do is walk in and tell the stylist to do her thing and I walk out looking great every time. I stop in and see Brittany every 4 weeks and she never fails to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the times Ive had to reschedule my appointments, theyve been nothing but professional and accommodating. Id certainly recommend this salon to ANYONE.
