After researching and visiting several salons in Roanoke to accommodate manicures, hair and makeup for a destination wedding, my daughter settled on Les Cheveux. They were one of two salons that would agree to work with us since there was not time for the "dry run" all the stylists like to do before a wedding. Wendy was super helpful and had a "can do" attitude every time my daughter called. Gloria did my daughters nails and they could not have been more perfect. Her professionalism and gentleness were superior. Several other manicurists did some of the grooms relatives and everyone was very happy with the results. Lisa did my nails, and Ive never had a manicure before. Her warmth and humor relaxed me, and I was very happy with the results. Early the next morning we arrived before opening for my daughters makeup. Kaylee is a true artist. Also very relaxed and unhurried, Kaylees makeup work stayed on from 8:30 am until 11 pm when the bride left the reception and still looked fresh and clean. She did not have to touch up AT ALL during the whole day except for a cool cloth on her forehead in the evening from dancing so much. Jen did her hair in a beautiful sideswept updo that also lasted through Roanokes blowing fall weather, even standing on the front steps of St. Andrews on the hill for an hours worth of receiving line! Jen was also very calming and relaxing for the bride that morning. On top of all the superior service and quality results, the price was very reasonable. Oh, and ABOVE AND BEYOND, the salon loaned us a robe from the spa since the hotel we were staying at did not have one and the bride needed a robe for some of the "dressing" photos. (The only thing I would change about the whole experience: I do have to agree with the one reviewer - the ladies need to stop pronouncing the name "the horses.")

I went to Les Cheveux yesterday for this for time. I told the woman who was cutting my hair that I had just washed it, and that she did not have to. She sat me down and proceeded to cut my hair without parting it. I asked her several times during the haircut to part my hair where I normally part it. She told me, "it looks fine." I then told her that I thought it looked uneven. She flipped my part to the opposite side of my head (where I do not wear it), and starting cutting it on that side. Her reasoning was that I could wear the part on either side. This resulted in the worst haircut of my life! My hair is now uneven and like a child took safety scissors to it. I left mortified and in tears. When I called back this morning to try and see if she could fix it, they told me that she was unavailable. They called me back at 9:52 to ask if I could make a 10:00 appointment. They made it seems like they wanted to try and fix the problem, but were not committed. No good business calls 8 minutes before an appointment to see if that works for you. I spoke with the manager, and asked if there was any way that he could refund my money. He told me that they first have to try and fix it before refunding any money. I told him that I had made another appointment with someone else, because I did not trust anyone at Les Cheveux. He said, "you have to do what you have to do", and hung up. After talking to several friends in South Roanoke, I called Michael Hamm Echols at The LOFT. So, if you want your hair to look like you strip at Myrtle Beach, this is the place for you!

Although the menu of services has an impressive list, we unfortunately were unable to receive our services the day they were scheduled. We visited the area from out of town and were eagerly anticipating our visit to the spa. Our car broke down on the interstate the evening before our appt and we had to be towed to nearby town of Blacksburg. I emailed the spa immediately and called early in the morning the day of our appt and notified management of our circumstances. We tried to move the appts to another day, which they were unable to accommodate, and they informed us we would be charged for a portion of our services. We had a total of four guests in which Les Cheveux required two of us to pay for our services. Spa management showed a total lack of concern for our circumstances and were indifferent to the fact that we made a diligent effort to notify them. This experience left us w a negative view of spa experiences in the city of Roanoke. Les Cheveux is one of the larger spas in the area and really should set the standard for spa experiences in their community...it is to my disappointment that they failed to do so.

Ive been going to Les Cheveux for several years now for nails and spa services, with an occasional shampoo & blow dry, and have always had a wonderful experience. If my sister-in-law didnt do my hair, I would probably have more hair services there too. I usually have appointments every 1-2 weeks for either skin services, massage, or nails and the facility is always beautiful, clean, warm and inviting. The hair and nail salon, and spa services are definitely the best in Roanoke. If you want consistently good service and a great experience, this is the place to go. They just remodeled in the salon and I really like the beautiful new waiting area (drinks and snacks provided to clients) and the separate drying area for nails. I love the convenience of being able to have everything I need done in one place. There is no other salon and spa in the surrounding area as lovely and well kept with such great service.

DO NOT USE!! Went in, told stylist I wanted RED hair (Ive dyed my own hair red SEVERAL times in the past). Stylist not only IGNORED what I wanted, but was VERY rude and made several inappropriate comments. My hair looked EXACTLY the same as when I went in and I left in tears. When I called back, the managers only solution was to offer to highlight my hair (I didnt want highlights) and to try to get me to use the SAME stylist (if they didnt do it right the FIRST time why would I want them to touch my hair again?)! Ended up going back the next day to talk to the owner. He didnt even listen to MY side of the story. I was pretty much told, "You can have your money back, get lost." NEVER given an apology or allowed to tell my side of what happened. I will NEVER go back there again! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

I have gone to this salon several times. I went a few days ago wanting a trim, what I came out with was something completely different. I was unaware of how much hair the stylist was cutting off until after the cut was done seeing as she started in the back. Needless to say my hair was long when I went in when I came out it was up to my shoulders, about 6 inches was taken off. I then called to talk to the salon owner about the incident, it has now been 3 days and Ive called every day to follow up and nothing I been done. They have been sending me though hoops claiming the owner is busy in training and will call me back. I would never recommend this salon to anyone....
