After recently submitting a service call for (1) a backed up kitchen sink and laundry line, and (2) a backed up bath tub and bathroom sink line, a technician arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The technician after trying to clear both problems admitted that he could not complete the job and immediately referred the job to a cameraman for diagnosis. The cameraman promptly arrived and using a camera in the bathroom drain line, diagnosed a deep clog, and called a senior technician who came within a 30 minute period and cleared both the bathtub and the bathroom sink. However the kitchen sink and laundry line drain problems were not addressed and it soon became evident. A second call for service was made and the technician who arrived found a leaking pipe that had been previously repaired by a roto rooter technician about 2 years earlier, and started the job with no job estimate given aside from a price of $200 per hour, after about 2.5 hours I made an observation of the tech by asking him if he was going to need another technician to assist in completing the job. About 1.5 hours later, He told me that he discovered additional problems and that he would be unable to finish the job tonight, and that if I waited, he could return on Wednesday, (this was Sunday), he could return to complete the job as he had a Hot water heater in Williamsburg, Va that he was scheduled to do on Monday. I told him that leaving me with my kitchen in disarray and unable to use my drainage, was unacceptable and that I would accept a more experienced technician on Monday. He called his dispatcher and made an arrangement for a technician who had been here before, to come and complete the job. Unfortunately, when the technician did not arrive at the anticipated (by me) time, I called the dispatcher to discover that the job had been assigned to a technician who was not on the scheduled to work that day. The technician who was given the job to complete, had to come from a job that was in progress and did not arrive (understandably so) until after 6 PM. When he arrived, this man promptly advised me of issues and made, acceptable arrangements with me, to return on Tuesday and do the work necessary. This technician Robert #42-1105 promptly arrived when he said he would, with all the necessary parts and tools he needed and in the most timely and efficient manner I had seen and come to expect from Roto Rooter, completed my job. Robert restored my faith in this company and I would without hesitation use his services. Because of him, I will continue to use the services of Roto Rooter, but I will keep a wary eye out for inexperienced technicians, who inflate their claims regarding their abilities.

After chatting with the customer service and the manager of the Roto-Rooter they truly do care about their customers. They do read these reviews and will call you to find out why and what happened. they really do strive to make it right. I chatted with Ned Campbell and he remedied the situation. Thank you Ned. Roto-Rooter does back up their work and needs our customer input we provide so they can be a world class leader in the plumbing industry ****************************************************************************** I want to start off by saying the actual service and the man they sent to my house was/were good. the service tech had only been on his own for a week now. it took him nearly 7 hours to snake the main sewer drain. At one point the snake had went up my vent pipe and was beating around on my roof. Now i want to make clear that i had no exterior clean out , so they had to pull my toilet up and snake through the toilet pipe, Why this cost an additional $100.00 i dont know, but it does. So people make sure if your drains are stopped up make sure you have an exterior clean-out. This technician had to call for back up after hour number (2). So after many attempts to snake the main line he finally got it to go into the main line. Then the other guy shows up with a drain camera to show me from the street "city clean out" that water was beginning to flow. finally we seen the snake come past the clean out and water was flowing again. Luckily i had printed off one of the roto rooter coupons for -$40 off the bill. My main gripe is the clean up that wasnt done. After they had left i spent hours cleaning the sludge spray, dirty sludgy hand prints, and other nasty stuff off from the bathroom door, the handle on the bath tup the cabinets . this was nasty and although my bathroom had water on the floor and stunk when they arrived. IT DID NOT HAVE FECES ON THE WALLS , DOORS , CABINETS AND EVEN THE CEILING. someone needs to train the guys how to clean up properly. they are not licensed plumbers just technicians. and they need to produce X-amount of work each day or they dont make a real paycheck.

Lee Huffman rocks! Had a sewer line that deteriorated. Challenging to say the least because the line was broken under another tenants suite. Because the line and subsequent backup was servicing a restaurant, we needed the work to be completed quickly. Lee came highly recommended and was called in for a second opinion. Lee assessed the situation and before confirming previous plans to cut the slab in the suite next door, he came up with an alternate plan that brought the sewer line out the back door of the suite, then subsequently tying it into a different lateral within 30 feet of the back door. While the repair was costly, if we would have gone with the other recommendation, the loss of revenue from the suite next door would have been significant, not to mention the cost of pouring a new section of slab as well as installing a new carpet. Lee called in his crew who worked into the late evening (a Friday evening at that), returning in the early morning to complete the job quickly, professionally, and without a hiccup! Been using Roto Rooter for years and Lee is at the top of the list for major work. Thank you to Lee and crew (John Miller and gang from Rock Solid Concepts) that worked with him to get this job done so quickly after getting the call late on a Friday afternoon. Been in the facility management business for a long time and this was one of the best responses to an emergency situation that I have had the pleasure of being a part of.

In the movie Finding Nemo "all drains lead to the ocean"...in reality at our house "all drains lead to the basement tub!" We were unable to successfully fix the issue with do-it-yourself tools. After 24 hours of no shower, toilet, or sink use with two teens and a toddler, we threw in the towel and decided to call a professional. My husband asked three different friends (separately), and they all HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ROTO-ROOTER. I called at 9am and they were able to have James at our doorstep by 11am the same day. He would have been even faster, but he was coming from a job 45 minutes away from our house! James S. was POLITE and PROFESSIONAL. He was able to assess and fix the problem within 1-1.5 hours after arriving (tree roots coming through pipe and causing blockage). We will still need to take additional steps on our own to avoid future issues (remove the offending trees), but he was able to clear the drain and resolve the back-up problem IMMEDIATELY. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this company to others and use them again myself in the future, especially in an emergency situation because of their QUICK ASSESSMENT and FAST RESPONSE TIME. My one regret? That I didnt call them yesterday!!!
