Ive gone here in the past and had great experiences, but after today I would never, ever go back. The customer service or lack thereof completely floored me, and as a employee in the industry, I have a lot of leniency in general, but not for the dispicable manner in which I was treated here. I had an appointment for 12:30 with Kristen (the hair cut had been called in ahead of time and already paid for and well-tipped I might add) and unfortunately, I overslept and missed it. I called and profusely apologized and the stylist told me it was no problem and she could fit me in at 2:15 instead. Great, I made sure I got there a good 10 minutes early, and sat down and waited. I waited for over an hour, no one came out to tell me what was going on, and I started to wonder if I had the time wrong. Finally, she came back and got me, sat me like nothing happened, and seemed very on edge and nervous, running her hands nervously through my hair and asking the other stylist what she should do with my hair. Then, her next appointment walked in, and she told me to get out of the chair and to wait while she did the other persons hair first, after she had already sat me and started my hair. Wait, my haircut had been prepaid and tipped, (a $170 cut a color appointment), but since I had overslept and missed my original appointment, I kept quiet. However, at this point, my patience started to wear; this was rude and gave the appearance that she did not want to do my hair at all. So after waiting a while, while she cut someone elses hair, I decided to just get a refund and go somewhere else because Kristin (the stylist) seemed very stressed, grumpy, and rushed. However, when I told her I wished to leave and get a refund, she told me I could leave and she would call and take care of the refund "when she could." I told her I wished to wait so we could talk about what happened and clear the air, and take care of the refund as soon as possible. It would have taken 3 minutes to issue a refund and take care of this, but she didnt make the other customer wait, she kept cutting her hair and I was told 4 more times I could just leave and that I actually needed to "have patience and understanding" because "you were the one who missed your original appointment anyways" lets disregard the fact I just waited politely for an hour an a half and got bumped from my seat in the middle of my appointment to make room for a more important customer. And then when she finally got around to the refund, she tried to offer the refund for the haircut and didnt mention the tip, as if she had "forgotten" about that part and would have pocketed it if I hadnt mentioned it. In summary, a terrible experience here lost a good customer permanently. I lost all faith in this place with the utter disrespect and humuliation I felt as I was pushed out the door. I was treated like my wait was my justifiable punishment for missing my original appointment.

Sadly, I have had not only a terrible experience here, but very sad. In the past 7 months, I have had to cancel my appointment the day of, not out of lack of respect for the salon or my stylist, but because of my child. First time, he woke up sick, and I had to cancel, and this past Friday, my caregiver did not show up to be with him so I could go to my appointment. Even though I profusely apologized and explained in detail the circumstances, I was told that I would have to pay half of the fees for todays appointment in order to reschedule. I HAVE A TERMINALLY ILL SON AND MY STYLIST KNOWS THIS! !!!! I wasnt at the beach, having my nails done, waiting on my chauffeur or our personal chef to prepare the days menu! SHAME ON THE STAFF AND ESPECIALLY KRISTEN, MY STYLIST! Whatever happened to compassion and superior customer service? You know what they say about karma. ........

I just had the nicest hair experience in my lifetime! I went to Maxx expecting all th hype of the other salons. I was warmly greeted, taken on time for my appointment... which they accommodated doing on my lunch hour...consulted on what I liked and was willing to do for maintenance, given great suggestions while having coffee served to me. I had my hair cut and highlighted and could not be more pleased with the results. I feel younger and glowing. It is subtle, but noticeable, and the cut is soooo flattering to my face shape.The price was totally reasonable, all the stylists were neat and clean as was the salon. I cannot rare this place higher than 5 stars because there is not that option, but if they had a slot for 10 stars this Salon would get my vote. Thanks Maxx for making me feel good about myself and finding all my best features!

Kristen is an amazing stylist! She is meticulous, yet efficient, and is a very good listener. Ive been going to Kristen for over a year now about every month to cover my gray roots. I let her know that I was interested in just going all-over gray someday and, for the past few months, weve been discussing strategies to make it happen. Today, she did it! In less than three hours, she took me from dark brown to a gorgeous (at least to me:)) silvery gray (steel+platinum!). It is hard to find a stylist who will work with you to go gray, who will not simply urge you to keep coming in for (more expensive) color every few weeks. It is even harder to find a stylist with the talent to expertly transform color in one session! I appreciate Kristens integrity, skill, and friendliness. Thank you Kristen!!!

I told the stylist I wanted to let my hair grow out and to cut my hair so when it grows out, it will still look good. She cut it just the way I wanted and Im happy to say, that after 8 months, my hair has grown 2-3 inches and the cut still looks great! It styles well and my hair can be difficult to style. My stylist was great! stylist

Thanks to my Scottish roots, Ive got this very curly hair that a lot of stylists dont cut correctly, because it behaves so differently when wet vs. dry, and the natural curl / body varies throughout. But my stylist (Shelly) has given me consistently good cuts. Ive used two other stylists here previously with good results as well.

Im a hap-hap-happy gal! Shelly did my hair today and I love it. I went in with a rats nest and came out looking like a beauty queen. Afterwards, I went to work to show everyone and got raves. Nice place, nice people....talk about a lucky find.

Nacole has been my stylist for over 10 years. So when she and her mother opened Maxx Salon and Spa I was so happy for them!! The salon is beautiful and relaxing and the service is the best! If you want a real treat, visit Maxx Salon and Spa!!
