Its fine. Go extra early or near closing time and you nearly have the free weights to yourself. Some issues, though. Only 3 power racks - 1 with adjustable safety bars, 2 with fixed. On the fixed bar models, the safety bars are a bit too high. The barbels at this gym have knurling thats fine for squats, but deadlifters will have to get used to scraped, bloody shins. Burpee fans will need to use caution to avoid sliding the knurling across their thighs/knees. You will not be able to use this place to do olympic lifts if you need to drop the bar often (snatch and cleans, for example). They do not have a platform, so you risk damaging the concrete beneath the free weights area. The floor under the power racks is not perfectly flat, which youll experience watching a barbel loaded up for deadlifts roll away. Mats are available to prevent this, but its still a nuisance. Cleanliness is typically OK, but the barbels can go up to 24 hours without being wiped down. The cleaner used in the locker room could be used a little more generously, if you know what I mean. Staff members are OK, too. They respect my privacy, let me in quickly, and are not trying to tell me a class or training session on a day to day basis. Thats all I want!

I have neen a member for just over two months. I had to switch gyms to accommodate my work schedule and new commute. When touring the gym I had asked about member Wi-FI so I could download books on my Kindle or watch Netflix or use my music app/YouTube while I work out. I was told that the WiFi was offered, but was down and it would be a while before maintenance could get it back up. I loved the gym and it was a perfect location so I signed up and hired a trainer. I checked in on the WiFi situation yesterday and the front desk said they didnt have Wi-Fi and when I asked if it would take a few months for them to fix it she said she didnt know, but it seemed like she had no idea what I was talking about. I am beginning to think that there wasnt and will never be Wi-Fi. This was one of my big checklist items as I know not all gyms offer it. I like the gym, and am beyond happy with my trainer, but I do wish they would have been upfront with me and just told me that Wi-Fi wasnt an option

I quit 24 HR Fitness because the manager refused to toned the ghetto rap and acid rock music down. He told me that he had to blast the music to attract memembs per company policy. I told him that any music freaks would have their ear listen device anyway but he told me that he didnt care if I quit. I refused to pay $80 a month to be insulted by degrading ghetto rap and rock trash. I mainly lift weight and I needed total concentration, or I would be hurt. So I quit there six months ago and went to L.A. Fitness, the manager there agred to tone down the music to minimum level. L.A. Fitness is also $30 cheaper for us. It also has more machines than 24 HR and it is much cleaner and less crowded. However, the old manager was replaced recently and the new manager tone the music up again. They also added more commercial to the music. So I have to look of another gym again. I dont think any corporate gym cares about what their members think.

Huge gym. Lots of free weights, machine racks, and cardio equipment. This is the gym for the newbie, the casual goer, and the extreme fitness nuts. Plus theres a pool, basketball courts, and racket ball courts. The staff is....OK. The night staff sau hi to you but a lot of the day staff ignore you; especially the blonde lady, if she says anything to you at all she does so without ever looking up. I only have one real gripe: the cancellation. I live 2 minutes away and Im moving. Going in to cancel in person is fine but I work and, apparently theres only one person who can cancel you and if you cant be there when she is then you have to mail it in instead. I live close enough you walk the but I had to mail it in simply because she wants to see me first..... If youve ever been to the gym then youll know they all do this but Id go back to this gym if I ever moved back to Everett.

The pool has been closed for a couple of days which is understandable if there is any needed maintanence, I joined mainly for the pool so I am anxious to get back in the water. I decided to call and ask when it would be open again. First, I was on hold for 5 minutes (how busy can a gyms front desk get at 8pm?) then when a girl answered, she told me that they have no idea when it would be open again or the reason for its closure. She just suggests that I go to the one in Mill Creek. WOW! When things like the pool is down, paying members have the right to know when its going to operate again and why its down. I dont see any discounts on my bill, and I dont think that we get reimbursed for gas when we drive to a further location. Honestly, I just want a little respect from the staff and go to a fully operable facility, just like it stated in the contract.

I have been a member for five years now and really like this gym. I have been a weight lifter for the last ten years and been a member at Worlds Gym, Golds Gym, Ballys, Pro-Robics (Seattle), The RAC (Redmond), UWs IMA, Meikos Fitness (Lake City), and a couple others, but for the price, cleanliness, services, and staff -- LA Fitness is the best gym to join. The only thing I dislike is the condition of the mens sauna. I believe all of these bad reviews are from the typical short-time members who think that joining and paying for a gym will give them the bodies they desire without any hard work or commitment to personal health. LA Fitness personal trainers teach very poor fitness routines in my opinion, but the gym itself is very good and deserves lots of credit. I saw all these bad reviews and LA Fitness deserves a good review. Jonathan S.
