Unfair practices used by this company, treated fairly politely until they pull your credit and find out that you are one the many Americans whos credit had been effected in the past by the economy, then you are denied , I was not offered an explanation , I had to call and speak with someone about it , and then it was insinuated that they only rent to people who can "pay their bills" it does not matter if you have owned before and your house WAS NOT foreclosed on , or if you have accounts in good standing including a car payment , and a spotless rental history for the past two years , never late and paying MORE in rent than you would be if they rented to you by at least 200 per month .... but none of that is considered , if you have ANY negative accounts then you are denied, I even offered to contact the accounts in reference and pay them in full , one was 4 years old and only 152.00 , I didnt even know about it , but I was told no , my credit score is still too low . You are a number .. nothing more, nothing less... we have BECOME our credit score.. its unfair and is not used by other rental agencies in the area to establish if you are a good potential tenant , in short , we lost the opportunity for a really nice house, due to this, a house that we would have taken care of and more than likely stayed long term , they are now going to get a tenant who may have spotless credit.. but they are here today gone tomorrow , most people like that do not become long term renters as they will eventually buy. I feel sorry for the people who own the home , as this type of screening is losing them long term tenants. I used to rent out my house . the people I rented it to had credit issues, they took exceptional care of my house , and stayed for four years , they only left because I sold it...

We rented with this company for two years and never had any problems. Until we moved out of the property. We recently received the deposit refund in the mail and it said " home left in great condition carpets needed to be professionally cleaned. Thank you for your tenancy." We had questions, so I called our property manager and ended up arguing with her. We were charged a balance due fee and a carpet cleaning fee. I dont understand how you can have a balance due when you pay your rent in person every month, there was no hey by the way you owe money or anything like that. We had the carpets cleaned two days prior to moving out and forgot to hand in the receipt with the keys, I offered to bring the receipt down and was denied told it would not matter since the check was already sent, She claimed to need the carpets cleaned due to a flea infestation and it didnt treat them, and she had witnesses. I was told that we could get refunded the carpet cleaning fee and then charged for fumigation, my question is why didnt you just fumigate. Was told that we were lucky that we werent charged more since she couldnt move her new tenants in and had to refund them. I told her I would never recommend them for anything and hung up because I was done arguing with her. They had someone moving in 15 days after we turned in the keys. In summary all I was doing was asking why there were these charges, I understand we messed up by not turning in the receipt, was never really expecting to get what they charged back. They need to seriously work on their customer service and professionalism. If you could give negative stars I would be giving them.

While the Lackadaisical approach to renters this company normally employs is generally beneficial in the Benign Negligence sort of way, there are times where it is thoroughly unpleasant. Times such as when the furnace breaks down during a cold snap (20 Fahrenheit during the day), and it requires the threat of legal action to actually get them to do anything after 72 hours of not just inaction, but absolute SILENCE (Wa State law is within 24 hours), or when a small-minded and mean-spirited neighbor decides a pet (I didnt even have) was eating her flowers and peeing in her yard and I get dinged for a penalty fee they did NOTHING about, and then tacked on a pet deposit fee (again, no pet) because if I was being charged by the Home Owners Association for a Pet, then I *OBVIOUSLY* had a pet. There was the time I sent 3 requests to have cupboards repaired over 3 months, and finally offered to fix the cupboards myself during the fourth month, and the NEXT DAY someone was out to fix the cupboards. Or there was the time I had to, again, threaten legal action, over ending my contract early to deploy. 1* if youre a law abiding citizen who wants to live life with the expectation that broken things will be fixed, or your concerns will be addressed. 5* if you are interested in doing extra legal activities. Theyll never check, so you just have to worry about the neighbors. That is to say, keep looking. Not a worthwhile company for honest and decent people.

I wish I could give negative stars, renting with this company has been the worst nightmare of our lives. The property managers here are extremely unprofessional, my fiance moved out of here and was hit with $2,000 "carpet cleaning fee", he was also billed for a pet deposit which weve paid and also "unpaid" utility bills that were paid prior to the date of we received the bill. We moved to Hawaii and have made every attempt to call and e-mail them, leaving several messages only receiving one e-mail back from a Brittany in book keeping stating that the property manager was out of town. When I called in horrible unprofessional person named Stacey said that we were emailed twice and when I told her we had no records of emails and asked her to forward a copy of the sent email she hung up on me because I didnt listen to her and then refused to take my calls when we called back so put me through to a manager. We unfortunately have to take this matter court and are putting in a report with the better business bureau. My fiance is a hard working High School teacher and these people have treated us like scum and are hell bent on sending $4000 worth of charges to collections to destroy our rental history. AVOID this place at ALL costs and please feel free to message me if youve had a similar experience.

I live and work in Wash, DC and have the pleasure of owning a home (I dont consider it just a house because of how beautiful it is and because of the what it means to me and my family) in the Lacey, WA. Because of the fact that I consider it a "home" as opposed to just a "house (rental property)", I was meticulous in what company I chose to MANAGE the HOME when I left there fourteen (14) years ago to be assigned here in DC. As a result, I chose Allen Realtors (Chris Bernstein in particular) because of their/his sincere approach to this house and specifically, he, too comported with my mantra that it is a HOME, vice a HOUSE. I have absolutely NOT been disappointed in ANY manner with his/Allen Realtors performance. I consider this a strategic matter and I handed this proxy to the best in the business (Allen Realtors). Chris keeps me posted and goes out of his way to check on the home and its occupants. Chris actually takes it personal to ensure the occupants are as upstanding as he can find...thats comforting to me and has translated into a good/strategic home ownership experience involving me and the tenants. In short, I give Chris/Allen Properties what they have earned and not necessarily been given...that is a Perfect FIVE (5) STAR rating. They have a serious notion for duty!
