I had the most wonderful experience with Cedar Falls Automotive. They are AMAZING people. I’m from Spokane and I was driving over to Seattle before my last quarter of school started. The week before I left, my Camry had been leaking oil pretty badly, so I took it in to a local shop to get serviced and taken care of. Apparently, there was a leak in my oil gasket, which had also soaked and destroyed my timing belt. In addition, I also had to purchase a new water pump. My bill was around 1,000.00 which is a lot for anyone, but especially a college student working part time. So, believing my car was fixed, I drove to Seattle, ended up breaking down outside of North Bend. Cedar Falls was the only shop open on the weekends, and right off the bat, I knew that they were good people. Michelle, who is part owner with her husband, was so easy to communicate with in regards to the symptoms of my car, directions to the shop, etc. When we arrived with the tow truck, she immediately opened the hood, and noticed a hole in the ENGINE. Yes, the engine, and of course, there was oil leaking everywhere. She informed me that there wasn’t going to be good news. I really appreciated how honest she was about the whole ordeal because I did not experience that in Spokane. My car was not drivable and obviously needed a new engine, but I decided not to go through with another repair because of the car’s worth. The next day when I returned to pay for the junk yard and removal fee, Michelle told me there was no charge. I still can’t believe it. She and her husband understood the hell I had been through during those past 48 hours, and they didn’t care. They are truly amazing and trustworthy people. I recommend that anyone who has a car issue in that area GO TO THEM!! I can’t stress the fact enough that they made my experience so much less stressful, and listened to my concerns rather than trying to get a buck out of me. Thank you so much Cedar Falls!

This is a thank you I wrote to Cedar Falls Automotive almost 4 years ago. Im still a loyal and happy customer! "I am writing to express how grateful we are for your wonderful service. We had been taking our two family vehicles and several of my company fleet vehicles to another shop in town for almost two years – we had spent a good deal of money with them. After my most recent oil change, I returned home and had a large pool of oil underneath my truck. I took it back to them no fewer than five times to have them correct the issue –stripped threads where the oil pan drain inserts. After the last time, I was told that they had done everything possible to try to save me money (oversized drain plug, factory drain plug from dealer, etc.), but the only option left was to replace the oil pan at a cost (to me) of $800 plus tax. Needless to say, I was incredulous because I thought that their overtightening of the drain plugs had contributed to the stripped threads. The vehicle has only 145,000 miles on it, so I felt that their explanation that this is a wear item, and was to be expected, was unsatisfactory. They even blamed whomever worked on the vehicle previous to them, even though they had probably done the last 6-8 oil changes. It was about this time that I learned about your shop from a brochure that I found at a copy shop downtown North Bend. You were able to re-straighten the threads, and change the oil all while I waited, and you didn’t even charge me to fix the threads. You saved me, tax included, about $900. I cannot thank you enough. Needless to say, you have a customer for life with that kind of service!"

Ken and Michelle of Cedar Falls Automotive are the only people that I trust to care for my familys vehicles. Their prices are very reasonable, their service is top notch (honestly the best customer service Ive ever gotten from an automotive repair company), and they have a completely no BS approach to diagnosing issues. Even better, if you have multiple issues on your vehicle theyll help you prioritize which ones to tackle first. This is so refreshing to deal with instead of the usual "panic you into repairs" that so many other repair places use. Most recently my in-laws were visiting from out of state. My father in-law was complaining about an oil leak from the valve cover gasket, being the DIY guy that I am I ordered up a set of gaskets and prepared to dig in...boy, was I in for a rude awakening. The engine bay layout was done by a king of puzzles, just to get to the valve covers you had to remove 3 or 4 layers of parts that are wholly unrelated. Nope, not really a DIY effort unless you were a mechanic in a previous life. Out comes the cell phone and a quick call to Ken and Michelle. They had us on the schedule in no time and since it was being dealt with by a professional I had them go ahead and replace the timing belts and other service items that had been neglected. Michelle even called a few weeks later to make sure that my in-laws had made it home safely and that there were no issues with the repair that theyd performed. Stuff like this is what keeps me coming back.

My vans brakes were making one hell of a gnarly sound and its a Sunday so Seattle and any other garage around were closed, but not Cedar Falls Automotive. I called to double-check and was immediately greeted with absolute professionalism from Michelle, who inquired about my vans issue and even made sure I knew how to find their shop (its off the beaten path, but its beautiful). I then met Ken, our mechanic, who took one look at both my front wheels and was able to immediately diagnose the problem. My pads, rotors and callipers were shot and needed to be replaced (he even noticed that my tires were in hellish condition because of an alignment issue that I was not aware of! He recommended that I change my tires immediately and even suggested me to a local tire shop to get them done the following day on top of advising me that I should get an alignment done asap). He performed all the brake replacements in an hour and I was back on the road with brakes that felt as good as new! In regards to cost, Ken and Michelle are extremely honest. Theyre not out to screw you over. Theyre there to help. 1000% would recommend them to anyone experiencing auto issues. Theyve left a lasting impression. Thanks Ken & Michelle!

I have had the opportunity to have five cars serviced at Cedar Falls Automotive over the last three to four years. Ken in very knowledgeable and takes a no nonsense approach to automotive maintenance. He will tell you what needs to be serviced right away and what can wait. He has been able to diagnose several problems for me that others have not been able to fix. He will go out of his way to make sure that you understand all of your options and explain to you things that you may not understand. He is always spot on and the work is done correctly. What sets Cedar Falls Automotive apart is the customer service. You could not ask for a better, friendlier and more helpful person than Michelle. She will always make time for you, even when she is swamped. She goes above and beyond trying to resolve issues for you. And, she is great about reminding you of your upcoming appointments. The best thing about Ken and Michelle is that in addition to being great at their jobs, they are great people. I only trust them to work on my cars.
