People may think that i am bias on my opinion considering my family owns the studio, but honestly I feel it has given me the opportunity to grow and see things from every perspective. Now that I am grown and no longer a student at InMotion I see even more clearly how AMAZING our staff is, how spoiled we are to be in such a lovely facility and how much LOVE and SUPPORT there is in the air. Through out my years I have attended classes at just about every dance studio on the peninsula and the other side of the water. Most studios classes are classes & you can always find something to take away from it, but there is always a very intense feeling of negativity and unhealthy competition from dancers and usually their families. I grew up in a very cruel dance environment, teachers telling me at the age of 12 that I was too fat to ever be cast in a girls role, and parents thinking that they held titles and authority at the studio trying to say to me and many girls I grew up dancing with that we were too fat, ugly, and untalented to wear a tutu when then the thinner ones in our class then were praised for their naturally thin body frames. I grew up crying in the car a good majority of the time, but still always came back the next day because my soul just had to dance. Bottom line is our studio is not for everyone, and Mrs Chris says that to every single family their first day as they walk in the door. But you can not please everyone, and InMotion will never compromise our believes of running a professional business environment, a strong training program and our goal to not only be teaching strong dance technique but more importantly life lessons to grow our dancers into smart, hard working, flexible, determined young people. Not everyone will be dancing their entire lives, but everyone will grow into adults facing real world problems!

I just want to share my experience with this dance studio, not out of spite but to spare any child from having their self esteem crushed. My daughter was a student a few years ago, she loved dance and never once wanted to miss class. She joined Momentum and started taking as many classes as they would let her in. Suddenly, the teacher she had for most classes began treating her horribly. Making her sit in the corner for forgetting choreography and publicly humiliating her. Other parents were coming to me and expressing their concern as to the treatment she was receiving when I was not present. I tried private lessons, thinking it would help them bond and would improve their relationship but that failed miserably. $40 and hour to have the teacher walk in late, be extremely rude and act like she would rather be anywhere else in the world. The biggest problem with InMotion is the owner. She never seemed to care that this teacher was so cruel and she always sided with her. The owner plays favorites, says rude things and is just hard to deal with. So many of the kids that have danced there have left as a result of a blow up, dancing there is like a ticking time bomb. This experience almost killed my daughters love of dance. She was so stressed out and discouraged that we had to leave there immediately. Now she has recovered beautifully. Dancing six days a week at a nurturing, supportive dance studio which focuses on the love of dance, not on business and manipulation.

Wendy G. is spot on with her review of this place. We had the same exact experience she and her daughter had and left too. If you are ok with you and or your child loving the place at first and then having the rug pulled out from under him/her when they get sick of your child or your child is replaced by another kid/family who is prettier and or has more money, then by all means keep your child here. If you also enjoy having an owner of your childs dance studio being completely indifferent to any complaints/concerns a parent might have about any issue that may come up about your childs dance experience, sign your kid up ASAP! OOOOO wait, one more...one more...if your also ok with the owner either not hiring decent dance instructors or getting rid of good ones because she cant handle people knowing more then she does, sign up for this place right now. Btw, most of the positive reviews you find about this place are by family members or parents who refuse to acknowledge that their child is in a very negative situation and or dont have the backbone to leave! For the sake of your childs self esteem and for the sake of finding a place that provides professional dance instruction by trained dance teachers (not someone who is hired because they "really like to dance") and to keep your stress level down, please do your research and find another positive and professional dance studio.

I am a former student at InMotion who is now attending a university in California. I danced at this studio throughout junior high and high school--save for one year when I was attending a prestigious ballet school in Chicago, which Id been invited to attend. I dont dance seriously anymore, but the skills I learned at InMotion surpass dance technique and performance abilities; instead, the skills have carried over into other parts of my life. These include hard work ethic, respectfulness, focus, and perseverance. Id like to highlight perseverance because I believe its a trait that is imperative in both dance and life. I did not always get casted in the part I wanted, but cest la vie. Despite sometimes feeling discouraged, I always came to rehearsal with a smile on my face, ready to work hard. In doing this, one will gain the respect of his or her teachers and peers. This lesson has continued to aid me in other aspects of my life such as schooling because just as I was never the most talented in dance, I am now not the most intelligent in my classes at college. I would recommend this studio for students who want to grow not only as dancers who have the gift of high-caliber dance teachers, but also as human beings. I am very grateful for my time at InMotion and for the opportunity to take from passionate teachers, and be surrounded by dedicated peers.

When my daughter decided to start taking dance classes for the first time a little over 3 years ago we did our research, asked around and InMotion Performing Arts Studio was highly recommended. In no time at all we experienced first hand why it is THE place to take dance in all of Kitsap County. The teachers are top notch and I cant say enough about the owner, Chris. She does an amazing job running her business yet taking a very personal interest in every dancer that walks through her door, She truly cares about each and every student. Together with her staff of teachers, they not only teach dance, they instill a strong work ethic, dedication, commitment, accountability and an undeniable sense of family in each dancer. If you want your child to experience more than just dance, but skills that will benefit them far beyond the studio, look no further than InMotion.

When I first moved to Washington state 4 years ago and I walked in to take class at InMotion Performing Arts Studio I was welcomed with open arms! The kids and teachers were so great and felt like family. The wonderful training I got there led me to go to wonderful summer intensive programs such as Miami City Ballet and Ballet Chicago. After 2 years at InMotion I tried out for PNB school, and I have been training there for 2 years already. The training that you can get at InMotion will truly set you up for a professional career in dance. I am currently writing this review from a studio at Alonzo Kings Lines Ballet, a summer program I am attending on full merit scholarship. I am so grateful for the training Ive received and the friends Ive made at InMotion and I highly recommend this studio for everyone! ❤️
