As a home-owner in the Wallingford area, I was very interested in helping to support a local plumbing company for a small project of installing a new "3" Clean-Out for the Sewer" outside the kitchen. I was given an estimate of 1-hour, but the guy said it was a simple and they had a min of 1 hour. Far enough. Once done, the work looked good but he said they would bill me. Looking around the site, the guy left an invoice for the materials he used, which was purchased from Dunn Lumber and it was funny how cheap they bought the items for... A week later, I get a bill for 2.5x what was expected and the labor jumped to 1.5h at $100/hour. In addition, there was an addition $14.95 in Mobilization Expense and $107 in parts... hmm.. I called the billing department and was put on speakerphone with a guy named John, who obviously didnt like to speak to people as he was immediately a jerk and continued to interrupt me during every sentence. You just hear his eyes rolling, as I asked about the $15 "Mobilization Expense", which he said everyone was charged for their gas (I live 5 blocks). When I attempted to ask about the labor-estimate going over, I was interrupted with "Do you have a written estimate". As soon as I responded that "he didnt leave one", they guy jumped right into fighting about how they "always leave and estimate".... then it was a fight about what his name was, "well dont you guys know or have a copy of the estimate"... then the d*ck was off to the races again about if the guy was "tall or lanky". I guess so, the guy was tall, but I didnt think about mentally insulting the guy at the time... Come on. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of "Best Plumbing & Rooter" at 4129 Stone Way N, 98103. Theres tons of companies out there that would love to do some business in todays economy, this is just NOT one of them.

I went in to the showroom excited to look and talk to professionals about my remodel. I walked in and the lady at the entry desk, barely says hi, and she seems to have better things to do(looked like surfing the internet) than to actually get out of her chair and answer questions. She tells me that they are short handed, but makes no effort to compensate. I walked around for about 10 min and not one person asked if I had been helped. In fact when I went to ask someone for help they said they were busy and to take a card and call back for an appointment. All I wanted were some prices. So I walked around for 10 min and didn’t really get any information, not even prices. Other places list prices in their showroom, so what is the deal? I consider myself a patient person, but this was quite ridiculous. I thought I better say something for anyone else that is about to waste gas to drive to this place. I went to another gallery up the street called Fixture Gallery or something, and they were much friendlier, and the prices are listed in the showroom. This allowed me to peruse at my leisure and not have to keep asking about prices. I hope the owners listen to these remarks and change something. I gave this place a 1 star (poor) rating because I had such a poor experience. Also, Im not surprised that it had low ratings from other people as well. thanks

the first time we went to best plumbing, we were looking for a kitchen sink. the woman that helped us almost made us feel like we were inconveniencing her when asked to see more sinks in their catalogs. we researched at their store and found the sink online for $400 cheaper. again, we went to best plumbing to research things for our bathroom remodel. the woman who approached us was very friendly, helpful and energetic -- we were very happy. we ordered several things including a bath, sink, countertop. the sink arrived with a hairline fracture in it and i called the woman who helped us and she basically accused us of cracking it ourselves. she told me i needed to take a picture of it and email it to her. instead, i hand delivered it to their showroom. someone else approached me and immediately said that the crack was its integrity and they exchanged it. the story goes on way too long but, in short, be choosy who you deal with and maybe just use them for research and find your items on line. we found several things much cheaper online and got them quicker than when best plumbing could promise.

Not at all easy to work with or professional. I wanted to find out if they would be willing to bid on a large job at a community I manage. I called them a left a voice mail for Brandon. After 3 weeks I hadnt heard back so I called again. The gal that answered the phone said she "thinks" they heard that they are booked out for the year and arent sure if they can take on another job. She tried to transfer me to Brandon, but he wasnt able to take the call. She asked if I wanted to leave another voice mail or if I would prefer to send an email. I asked which would be faster, because even if they cant take the job a simple acknowledgment would be nice. She told me they didnt want to work with me and hung up the phone. GREAT customer service. If you cant take on any work thats completely fine, but at least take the time to tell me that. Also, hanging up on a potential client is bad business regardless of how busy you are. I DO NOT recommend working with this company. Apparently they are far too busy anyway.

Ten years ago, we bought and remodeled a house on Capitol Hill. The contractor chose Best to replumb the entire house, which included installation of a recirculation line to get hot water to the third floor. Eight years later, that recirculation line leaked, causing a lot of damage to our kitchen, which thankfully Amica Insurance covered. Two months ago, the same line leaked again, causing more damage. Bests own guy came out and told us the line was incorrectly installed and not deburred, which was causing cavitation, which leads to pinhole leaks. Best refuses to replace the line; their manager said they "do not offer a lifetime warranty." Well, we think plumbing should last longer than 8 years. What do you think? We made a huge investment originally, and we think if Best cared anything about their reputation and their customers, they would stand by their work. Our recommendation is to AVOID Best Plumbing!

VERY DISHONEST COMPANY. DO NOT USE THEM!!! I have a small leak from a copper pipe at the kitchen sink. I specifically asked the plumber what were my options to repair the leak, including sealing, welding, etc. The plumber told me "the only option was to replace the whole faucet" which costed $700. I trusted his recommendation ONLY to find out later that any staffs from Home Depot know there is an Epoxy Resin that I can use to seal the leak from copper pipe for only $6. called the company and confronted about their dishonest practice. the staff just blunted told me "we do not care about customer service and write all you want on Google review, Yelp, or Better Business Bureau..." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Their sale practice is dishonest and their plumber will steer you to the most expensive option for their own benefit by concealing other reasonable options.
