Hired Albert Nahman to come install a Rinnai tankless / on-demand water heater at my home. Since that moment, we have had nothing but issues and I cant believe that these positive Yelp reviews are primarily made up of fake accounts as there were just too many issues to assume that they normally get it right. The price to hire Albert Nahman was literally twice as much as other plumbers but they promised they could do the job right away, so I hired them. Unfortunately, they didnt honor their word and I could have had the same exact job done by another Rinnai authorized plumber for half the price. Here are some of the many issues we encountered (I should note that to date the system is still not functioning as promised and the owner has been on vacation): - Job promised to happen on a Friday. Due to "emergencies" at Albert Nahman, they cancelled on us and rescheduled for following Wednesday. - Job was promised to take no more than 2 days. It has already taken 3 FULL days and their are still issues. - Job was not done correctly. Plumbers didnt know how to properly install the system and made a few very big mistakes. #1: They didnt connect the system to my existing hot water recirculating pipes. Oops! #2: They forgot to take out some of the packaging plugs/caps and the system kept turning itself off. They had to send a tech out the following day and he found they had closed up the device without properly installing it. We had no hot water from afternoon of one day to following day when they figured out what they did wrong. #3: Yet another day we had no hot water (for 2 days total) because of a faulty earthquake shutoff that they installed on the side of our house. - Plumbers were promised at 8:30am on 2nd day of install. I received an email confirming it. Then the night before I received a call saying it would be 9:30am arrival. At 9:45am I contacted the company and finally at 10:30am (1 or 2 hours late, depending on how you look at it), the plumbers finally arrived. Needless to say, this negatively impacted my work day. - The plumbers literally drove their van into a garbage can that was in front of house for trash day, and they didnt bother to pick it up. They also dragged our recycling can on top of our plants so they could better park their van. When I saw the can knocked over and the other one killing the plants, I reviewed our home surveillance system and verified it was them. - We now hear the machine turning on & off and I am awoken in the morning to the sound of water continuously rushing through my walls. From my home office - where I sit now - I can hear the machine humming and can also hear water rushing through the walls. Our previous recirculating system was quiet and I cant help but wonder if they messed up yet another component during the install of the machine. I should note they told me I would not hear the machine. - Recognizing the job was not (and still is not) done correctly - and issues were still outstanding - we received an email asking if they could charge our card for $7,000+ to pay the balance for the install of the system. I wrote back in no uncertain terms that they were NOT authorized to charge my card as the job was not complete. Regardless, they charged my card. When I called the company to ask about what happened, they apologized and promised to refund it. A few days later it hadnt been refunded and I called again and was told that the owner "Albert" did not authorize them to refund it and he should have called me last week, which he didnt. Apparently he is now on vacation. So...long story short, I would strongly advise getting another reputable plumbing company to give you a quote for whatever job youre looking to do. Youll definitely save yourself some $$$ and you may also save yourself from a headache. Good luck!!

jim - Dec. 20, 2011- 5 STARS! EBMUD informed me my 30 yr. old house had water leakage somewhere in my plumbing which is buried in the cement slab upon which the house sits. After discussig with family, friends and weeks on the internet we decided to do a complete repiping project. Our research led us to Albert Nahman Plumbing and Marlon, ( technician) came out and provided us with the initial proposal. After various reviews and gaining some degree of better understanding, we signed the dotted line. On the first day(12/5) of the project, Marlon accompanied the 2 plumbers, Mario & Orlando, to provide a quick tour and some basic info. No question of my trepidation esp as the openings in the walls began: hall bath, master bath and kitchen. It was very evident these men knew what they were doing. My apprehension level had come down a bit. Orlando had spent quite bit of time in the attic laying out the copper pipe and running pipe down inside the walls. I noted the old connections and saw Mario & Orlando installed the new connections. It was so neat and well done. In the meantime, another crew dug a trench in front of our house leading from the water meter to the new entry ...the garage. Later Mario laid out new pipe for the water line to also include an accommodation for the irrigation line. By the time the additional new faucets/valves, Toto Toilet were installed and misc. work was done, about 80% of this project was completed at the end of the 4th day. Some minor items were attended to on friday. Our city inspector came out on monday morning to be greeted by the 3rd plumber who took care of 2 minor concerns noted by the inspector. He was satisfied and signed off on the plumbing job. Now the patch up crew could now come in to take care of filling the trench, patch up the openings and finally do the painting. A good job by this crew. I found Marlon to be a knowledgeable technician. Mario and Orlando proved to be very professional, very competent and dedicated to their work. I felt very fortunate to have these men assigned to my huge repiping project. Mr. Albert Nahman should be proud to have these men on his staff. Certainly not the last person to be given his kudos...Mr. Nahman. He provided me with answers to many questions and offered suggestions that were welcomed by this homeowner. We would encourage anyone needing plumbing needs to contact Mr. Nahmans company.

Albert Nahman did an extraordinary installation for us. We are so happy to be sitting in our home today comfortably at 70 degrees while it is 91 degrees outside. Last year Albert Nahman responded immediately to a call to replace a leaking water heater and within a couple of days had installed the perfect equipment. All old connections were replaced so beautifully that it looked like jewelry. It was clear to us that if we were ever to install some form of air conditioning compatible with our historic home, something we had been investigating for a couple of years, this was the company that we would be comfortable working with. Gabe, who was the lead person on the water heater installation, laid out a plan for how to handle a new central air heating and cooling system and was extremely knowledgeable about all available forms of equipment including high efficiency units. We set an installation date for the following summer at which time a very well organized process began. Lead technician Tony along with an electrician and Gabe came out to confirm a plan of installation. Then began an extremely organized program that proceeded like clockwork: a before and after inspection for both the asbestos removal and the California Energy Efficiency upgrade program, extensive asbestos removal, the installation of a complete air conditioning and heating system including installation of concrete pad and surround for the air conditioner and resurfacing of concrete for installation of furnace, and finally the City inspection. All of this was organized and supervised by Albert Nahman with no responsibilities for us other than choice of equipment and curatorship of some interior details in order to retain the architectural features of our home.
