I called Guardian Security to have my two HHR remotes programmed. Jim at Guardian was rude and short on the phone with me. He quoted me $65 for the first remote (and since "I was already there, they will do the 2nd one for $15 more) and I had to sign an agreement saying it didnt matter if they were able to program them, that I had to still pay......and pay up front. Fine. That price seemed a bit high from looking around at other locksmiths (but I chose Guardian because they were closest to my home). I said ok, didnt seem like that big a deal, but then he proceeded to tell me that "if you got them off the internet that 30-40% of them dont work". I told him I got them from AC Delco (an official Chevrolet parts manufacturer. He didnt bother listening. He just told me that it didnt matter. That they didnt have any way to know if they would work until after they spent the time programming them. Thus, charging up front. Told me it would take about an hour. I was rather put off by his attitude and the way he was talking to a customer on the phone, so I called Gilchrist Chevrolet (down the street). Knowing, Id probably pay more for it at a dealership. Went in, and they told me, "yes, we can test them to see if we can program them". You know how long it took? 20 seconds. Even told me that my current one was not going to be able to be reprogrammed. Which is why I bought two new ones in the first place. 20 seconds! For something that Jim at Guardian told me was not possible. I didnt have to pay up front and when they quoted me $35, I was fine that it was $70 ($10 cheaper than Guardian). Well, guess what? It wasnt. It was $35 for both. Not only did they test them within the first 30 seconds, I was out of there in 20 minutes (and the shop was very busy). Needless to say, I will never use Guardian EVER because of the attitude and rudeness of one of their employees. Doesnt mean I will always use the dealership (because I may have other key issues), but I do know that Ill use any other locksmith in town, except Guardian. *UPDATE TO RESPONSE......it cracks me up that your only response (since you are the one I talked to on the phone and you said EXACTLY what I posted in my review)....is that this is a competitor hit piece....lol. Im actually a customer that you were rude to. Not sure what happened to the original response of that you were implementing changes so that people didnt have to go through what I went through. Its nice to see that you took this seriously, and instead blamed it on a competitor.....just wow.

They literally made my grandmother cry. I scheduled the locksmith to come out while I was at work to replace a lost vehicle key. I was told I could pay over the phone when the work was done. I missed their phone call and called back 10 minutes later, which I completely understand could be upsetting to the technician. They yelled at my 82 year old grandma when she was confused as to why I was not getting the remotes along with the keys, instead of explaining to her that this was the service and price I agreed to on the phone. Again, i probably should have been more clear with my grandmother, but it is no excuse for them to yell at her. When I returned the technicians call he immediately told me how he had made the keys but didnt even want to sell them to me because my grandma was crying and "the whole thing was a mess." And he shouldnt have to "deal with that" I understand their frustrations with me as a customer since I missed there initial call by 10 minutes, but for the price I was paying I would hope for a little patience. I told them if they dont want me to pay for the keys then its fine they can leave like they wanted to and I will call a different locksmith. Extremely rude customer service. I went with another company which charged 20% less anyways.

This place is amazing.....here is my story: I had to go to the store the other night pretty late to get my son some medicine because he had a fever, I had to bring him since I am a single parent. When I went to leave I realized I locked my keys in the car. So now I am standing in a dark parking lot at 11pm (I dont live in a great area) with my sick son. I called a couple locksmiths but on a Sunday night its not easy. Either they didnt answer or it was going to take way to long. So I contemplated smashing the window but didnt want to get glass all over my sons car seat. So, Im going down the list of locksmiths and get to Guardian Security Group. They answered and said they would be right there!!! I was so relieved. A young man showed up within 20 minutes!! I couldnt believe it. He had my car open with just a fee min. I am so grateful to them. They are amazing!!!!! I would definitely recommend them to my own mother. Thanks guys for saving my night (and my window)

Shady, dodgy liars and grossly overcharged.... I took my 2005 Toyota Avalon in to simply get a replacement keyless door remote. The guy told me that year was a special run, a very unusual model and quoted me $340. I figured since my wife used it and as a nurse working late, it would be a big personal safety plus for her. I believed the guy and gutted out the huge sum. Later I found the very same item, which I programmed myself on Amazon for $20! I ordered it, ran the DIY setup myself in minutes, but the hours they took. This is sadly a horrible and unscrupulous business that will fleece you as you try to take care of your family. I would never go there again for anything and strongly advise anyone seeking professional help to keep looking, they are not professional.

Great folks, great skills, looking to save me a buck, I came in with a 7th generation crappy copy of our house key that was the only remaining key that opened the backdoor or garage, and although having a a key coded costs about 50 bucks, this craftsman behind the counter took careful measurements and made us two good keys that work in all the locks for about what a latte would run me... wow, thanks guys. Every time I come here they save me money. The first time was on my auto body shops recommendation, and my sticking car lock was repaired for free on the spot. Now just today, I stop in to schedule a residential service call, and they gave me a few options to try before needing to have a guy come out... thanks again! I trust these guys to work on any lock I might have.

My car remote was dead, or so I thought! The dealership wanted to charge me $175.00+tax for a new one. One visit to Guardian Security and my problem was solved. All my remote needed was a new skin & batteries! Best of all, the charge was only $30.00! These guys are great. Yes, they could have sold me a new remote (for far less than the $175.00 the dealership wanted) but they went the extra step and sold me only the parts I needed. Their inventory is extensive, so if you need a remote, check them out first! You wont be disappointed! No wonder theyve been voted the Best Locksmiths for two years in a row!
