I had the most wonderful experience today at The Yoga Seed! While I used to practice yoga almost everyday, it had been far too long since Id been on my mat. I had the pleasure of being in Michelle Reids Power Flow class, and it was absolutely incredible. Michelle was an incredible teacher, with such a beautiful energy about her. She made me feel at ease, all of my nerves went out the door, and she had such a radiant glow about her - you could really tell that she loved teaching yoga and sharing that wonderful time with us. I was nervous to attend classes because it had been so long since Id practiced, but right from the start of class, she helped me feel comfortable in the space, guiding me to setup my space in the room with all of the props I needed. They had everything there for me to use, too - mats, blocks, straps, towels - it was wonderful. Once the class started, Michelle helped me remember exactly how to breathe properly, ease my mind, and be present in the space - things I was worried about since I had been away from my mat for a bit! The class was challenging in the best way - I broke a sweat, I pushed myself by breathing deeper into poses, and she helped adjust my posture and positioning to ensure I was getting the most out of each pose. The sequences flowed so smoothly, and I loved being a part of this class. I plan to attend Michelles classes as much as possible, and also look forward to some of the other classes offered. I am a new mommy, and the multitasking mommy class where I can actually bring my daughter with me to class sounds amazing, too, and I look forward to attending that! This studio is beautiful and inviting, with lots of natural light, friendly staff and guests, and the energy at The Yoga Seed will definitely bring me back there again! Thank you to Michelle and The Yoga Seed for helping me get back on my mat again, and I look forward to once again finding my love and passion for yoga thanks to you!

Upon entering the Shanti Yoga Center, you are greeted by the warmth of your cozy living room before you move into the sanctuary to "practice" your yoga. By the time you leave your class your body and your spirit is completely renewed...You will never be the same! I have been a student of the Shanti since its conception, and I know without a doubt I am a much better person for it! The "kula" or community that has transpired there over the years is completely loving and supportive. the space is magical and the instructors are all equally gifted, unique and loving. There are classes for all levels and everyone is acknowledged and safe to be where ever they are at any given time. I highly recommend The Shanti for anyone interested in exploring the world of Yoga for the physical as well as the spiritual journey. I live in Portland, where there are tons of yoga studios, but have no problem heading up to downtown Vancouver to continue my practice. Om Shanti, Peace Dianne DelReyes

The Shanti Yoga Center has changed my life! It is unlike any yoga studio I have attended, with a warm and welcoming environment that truly supports what yoga is all about. When I walk in the doors my whole body relaxes, knowing I am in a very real sense "home". The combination of the dharma teachings and the physical asana/movement have helped me get through some of the most challenging times in my life. But dont wait until something challenging happens to try the Shanti!! They are a place for celebration and healing, love and laughter, stretching and strengthening, pushing your limits and restoring and relaxing. The broad range of classes is one of the best parts of the Shanti class schedule. Truly all levels can attend and benefit ... everyone from the experienced practitioner to the individual with a bad back that keeps them from wanting to move. Come check out our family! I cant wait to meet you when you do :-)

Best yoga studio I have ever visited. I have been practicing yoga on and off for many years--more off than on because something was missing. With both classes and DVDs, I felt either spiritually or physically unfulfilled. I thought for sure I would have to cross the river and go to Portland to find an authentic experience. I tried Shanti yoga based on the recommendations of several friends, and I am hooked. I have only taken classes by the owner, Sundari, but she is awesome. She seems to intuitively know what your mind and body need on a certain day. I am generally a skeptic--not "new-agey" by any stretch--but I feel better every time I do yoga at Shanti. Also, the studio has a wonderful ambiance and there is a palpable sense of community here. I will not need to waste gas money to go to Portland for a superb yoga experience.

It is my home, my yoga, and my place to be loved. I love this place it is where i feel peace inside and out. It is a family that is always growing. all levels, ages, sizes and over all just a wonderful safe place to grow as a person. everyone is kind to who you are and where you are in your journey. It is a place to find yourself and feel love and support from others that are doing the same thing. shanti has my heart, body and soul and the Shanti has help me create me into the person I love with all my heart. My family and I thank the Shanti and the teachers for all the support over the years. It is my home away from home. Try it but be warned at times is hard to see what you see but in the end it is worth it, because you change into something so much more. YOU. Written by Jisell the mother of James

Ive never reviewed anything on Google!!! Im not altogether sure Im even doing this right, but if there is an opportunity to recommend The Shanti, Ill take my chances. I took a chance about 7 years ago and signed up for a yoga class there of all things!!!I I was so nervous- thought it was an exercise class in disguise.... instead it was Grace, not so disguised. Its a place where someone well into the second half of life could find a new beginning in body and soul. Skilled teachers and a diverse and inclusive community sit beside me weekly and move through asana and the life that unfolds as we return to our "everydayness". If youre nervous or just curious, I wholeheartedly encourage you to give The Shanti a try! Life Changing. Life Giving. P.S. Tell em Deb sent you!!

Finding the Shanti Yoga Center has been a blessing for me. I have been attending classes here for over 2 years now, and their classes are so relevant to my everyday life and have helped me grow in so many ways. A lot of yoga studios want to skip the actual yoga teachings, and just try to dumb it down and give you a workout without any context or authentic yoga teachings. Not the Shanti. Through their authentic teaching and sharing of yoga philosophy and giving your practice context, they really bring your yoga practice off the mat and to your life. They are a breath of fresh air in the now highly commercialized yoga world. The Shanti is more than a studio for me; it has become a family and very supportive community. Dont go anywhere else!!
