I attempted to review Yelm Gymnastics on FB, but was harassed and cursed at to the point of simply deleting the review. My children had attended Yelm Gymnastics for 8 months. The parent seating area is upstairs, but due to the unsanitary conditions, my husband and I opted to stay downstairs. During our 8 months at Yelm Gymnastics, this had never been an issue. The weather in Yelm was quite hot yesterday, and it is not airconditioned, the gym was quite hot. After the first staff member told another friend that they had to sit up stairs, I decided to attempt to sit upstairs despite the filth. The heat however, made the constant mild smell much worse. Between the heat and the smell, I could not continue to sit upstairs as it was making me feel ill. Downstairs, I found a place out of the way and sat down. The owner came over to me and told me I had to sit upstairs. When I explained that I could not, as the heat was making me feel ill, she told me that it was the rules and I did not have a choice. When I persisted that I would not go upstairs as the combination of the heat and smell was making me sick, she told me she would make a one time exception but I would have to stand over by the corner for the one hour class. The owner continued to explain that they do not own the building, they rent, so there is nothing she could do about it being so hot upstairs. I suggested cleaning would help make the upstairs more tolerable, as it stunk, the owner insisted that it was cleaned daily. (Its not and if I can figure out how, I will post pictures showing the grime, garbage and over all grossness.) The only other solution offered was to stand outside, where I could not watch my children participate. However, this is unacceptable to me. In the previous months, as can happen during any sports activities, my child was injured. The instructor was not watching, which I also understand that they cannot be 110% eyes on every child, but because of this incident, I do not feel comfortable not being able to watch my young children during their lessons. With no solution offered, we ended our lessons early and my children will not be returning. The facilities really need a good scrubbing, to be better ventilated and if they are going to insist parents sit upstairs, it needs to be cleanly and safe. In addition, the staff really should learn to behave professionally. I understand the majority are teens, however, that is no excuse for attacking someone based on their review.

Have been a patron of the gym for years, after today will never go again. Today they were a bit busy with the Easter egg hunt. So when they told me my 10 year old couldnt run around with my 4 year old cause its 5 under right now. I was slightly annoyed but was understanding of the situation. About 20 min. Later I see older kids and adults going on the long trampoline so I assumed they were letting the few older kids that were there take a turn now so I told my son to go ahead and get back in line. I noticed she had stopped him and as I approached I hear her saying "No your not, how old are you really?!" I then said hes 10! (Hes even a small 10 year old so I dont know how old she was thinking he was) she then preceded to tell me that hes too old to go on. I asked her how come these older kids directly behind him looking to be 12-14 were allowed on but not him. She said well they are employees kids. WHAT!!?!?! So employees kids are more important then your customers?? I was just baffled at the illogical statement that just came out of her mouth. What poor customer service. My son was really upset. Asking me why she hates him?!!? There was really just no legitimate explanation. It just made zero since as to why my son would pose a danger to other kids on the trampoline but the kids clearly older then him were not. I will NEVER go back here again after this, no more open gym, classes or birthday party business from my family!! Ill gladly take my business to Black Hills gym in Lacey. To the owner: As a person who currently and formerly owned businesses involving children. I would strongly suggest that you be a little more sensitive to kids feelings before you call them a liar and take some basic business courses on customer service! To the owner working the front desk. I appreciated your effort trying to make it better and at least being apologetic but I would strongly suggest looking for a new business partner if you are majority owner.

My kid loves coming here for open gym. There is a lot for him to do and interact with.
