I am 43 and started late of 2010 --- Box jumps? Rope Climbs? Chin ups? Pull ups? Burpees? I remember Jeff giving me a 45lb plate my first day in order to start practicing my ability to jump (who uses both legs to jump at 40 and looks coordinated?). I used the big ol black band to help me with pull ups. While my goal was not to necessarily loose weight, it came off, I am now about 12lbs lighter and now can box jump 24" plus, climb ropes, do chin ups and pull ups unassisted (still working up my reps though!). Each day it is always a work in progress; each day the workout is different -- it is scaled to your ability -- you begin adding weight, you climb higher, you jump higher, you simply become stronger because Jeff, Amanda, and their Instructors see it --- they support and encourage everyone of us but do it safely and most importantly with instruction. Not to mention there is the person next to you, who inspires you even more and friendships are made--- oh and not to mention the new vocabulary and conversations you start having with others; "the WOD was AMRAP 20 of Snatches and Turkish Get Ups." If you have ever wished there was something that could change and improve every aspect of your life, Trident Athletics is the place where it all starts!

I started working out at Trident Athletics on 1/1/15. This is the 3rd CF gym Ive tired out and is most certainly the best. The coaching is top notch. Coach Zach (lead coach/director) is a physical therapist so he is keen on making sure that the movement is solid before he encourages you to add weight. At the same time, for relatively inexperienced people like myself, Zach pushes me when needed and through his guidance I have gained confidence and strength. The facility itself is clean and well organized. There is always enough equipment and space (youre never worried about getting a barbell dropped on your head). The facility also has a clean bathroom and a shower. Plenty if free parking too. Trident has an excellent mix of people who workout there. Theres a blend of all abilities and personalities (from grandmothers, soccer moms, 20-somethings, and active duty members). Everyone has been friendly and encouraging...making me excited to return. If youre curious about crossfit I highly encourage you to give trident a try. The workouts are hard however they can be changed for all fitness levels (the coaches will help you with that!) Absolutely everyone can crossfit. Im so happy and thankful that I found Trident!

I love Trident. Jeff and Amanda are amazingly awesome trainers, with tons of knowledge and experience AND they are down-to-earth extremely nice and normal people. Trident feels like home away from home, and every time I walk in I can take a deep breath, be scared when I look at the whiteboard for the WOD since I never know what it will be until I get there, but somehow get through every workout and leave feeling better than ever and so happy that I got myself there. Its so much fun I wish I could go every day so I dont miss out on what might be my favorite exercises. I love the community feel, where no matter what level youre at everyone waits and cheers each other on until everyone is done. I also love that its like personal training, but with a more fun and motivating group setting. I wish all of my friends and family could join and share the same love I feel for my gym! I love that I can do things like stand on my hands again, because Ive regained so much of my flexibility lost over the years - I can now climb a rope and lift all kinds of weight, which has made me feel stronger for doing things outside the gym. Love, love, love my gym and the Servens! :)

My wife and I did a free class at the end of September and then the On-Ramp for the first week of October and were immediately hooked! Amanda, Jeff, Zach, Paul, and Everett (who ran the on-ramp) have all been very supporting and eager to help a couple of newbies navigate the perceivably intimidating world of CrossFit. They designed the On-Ramp to give you a foundation from which to build upon when you roll into the full classes, and continue to provide expert coaching along your journey. Each WOD comes with a comprehensive warm-up, demonstration of technique, and a certified coach monitoring each CrossFitter to ensure that good form is not sacrificed. I highly recommend anyone on the fence about joining a CrossFit gym to come in and check out a class, talk to the members, and see what it is all about. From high school students to retirees, you are bound to run into someone of your background and fitness level that will gush about the transformation and positive results they are seeing in their lives. My wife and I are excited to keep "drinking the Kool Aid" and see what we can achieve through CrossFit with Trident Athletics!

Having been a member for 5 months now, my experiences have been nothing but positive. Recently turning 45 and finding myself missing weeks that turn into months at the traditional gym made me take a chance on Crossfit. The staff at Trident, having various different backgrounds, gives you the absolute most positive feeling of a personal training session every time you attend. I been able to loose significant body fat while increasing strength in a relatively short period of time. Not knowing what your work will be each day is a relief yet they will kick your butt every day because there are no off day like a the tradition gym where you control what goes on. I could never see myself going back to the nation chain gyms simply because the support and motivation I get from the others during workout doesnt exist there. Its nearly impossible to not succeed in Tridents environment. With a sincere amount effort on your part, they come with the experience, facility, motivation, tools and knowledge that will all but guarantee your success! If you on the fence, come on in and well get you over!

Ive been working out at Trident for almost 10 months now. Prior to joining, I hadnt really done much in the way of fitness/weight lifting for 8 or 9 years. I did a lot of homework prior to trying Crossfit, and Trident had a great reputation. The selling point for me was the Director of Training. His Doctorate in Physical Therapy made me far more comfortable trying complex movements having been away for awhile. My big fear was injury, and I have waited this long to write a review in order to get a real feel for the gym, culture, coaching, training, etc (as well as some tenure being injury free). The coaches know their stuff. The owner/director has done his homework (literally and figuratively) to build programming that is helpful without bordering harmful, and seems to genuinely enjoy seeing members get healthier. The people who work out there are friendly, it lacks all the classic gym drama, and the facility itself is great. Couldnt ask for more. Thanks, guys...

I dont typically write this stuff - but Ive had such a positive experience here that it would be a mistake not to say something about it. Ive had some health stuff, and some bad diet stuff, and Im out of shape. Like, doing-scaled-down-versions-of-most-exercises out of shape. I was really self-conscious when I went to the gym for on-ramp, but the trainer (Zach is the man) was fantastic. Id like to be clear about something - when I review this gym Im not reviewing Crossfit. I dont really care what people think about Crossfit, and it doesnt much matter what you think about Crossfit - what makes a gym work is the people, the atmosphere, and the camaraderie. Make no mistake, this is a friendly place, no judgement or stress. Theyre committed, kind, and there for you. I dont know what else to say really. Come down, sit in, check it out. Its a special place.
