I would like to give this gym higher marks, because it is a family owned operation (which is why I chose them to begin with). The truth is that their facilities are old and their entrance is actually dangerous and very hard on someone with a bad knee (very steep cement staircase to get inside and then another staircase inside to get back down to the pool). Mostly though, their policies and what I experienced when trying to cancel today did not feel "family owned". I wish I had read some of the other reviews before I went to this Gym last summer. When I signed up, I chose to pay month to month (and I pay more per month) so we could cancel when we wanted to without hassle. I do not feel that it was well explained that I would actually be charged a full additional month as soon as I wanted to cancel no matter when that was.... I also had to contact a third party company to do the cancellations as they do not handle this for their members themselves. In the end, I will have to send a written letter to another company (in Arkansas) to initiate the cancellation. In addition, and maybe this is normal for Gyms, but I pre-paid for 3 45 minute PT sessions for my son as a gift for his birthday (which he never used as he ended up going out for a sport at his high school and worked with the trainers there) and today I found out this was also non-refundable. I feel like it would have been the right thing to do to issue the refund (even a partial refund) on the PT - since this was money they received from us - for services we never had them provide. Overall, I feel very disappointed in how little they seemed to care ... many lessons learned and I can not personally recommend this gym.

They say to give 30 days notice when you need to cancel your membership, and so, because Im moving to Denver, I put in my notice 40 days out. The issue, however, is I was just under 2 weeks out from my billing cycle date, and so even though I told them on April 1sr that May 8th is my last day, theyre requiring me to pay all the way through May 26th. Seriously? Youre gonna rob me of 18 days worth of membership fees when Im giving you this much notice? Ive worked for gyms and fitness companies- and none of them jack with you the way this place does. What a rip off...LA Fitness, Cascade, Ballys....anywhere other than this place is a wiser investment. Trust me.

My L.A. Fitness gym is under construction so I am trying to use this as an opportunity to check out other gyms. I will not be switching to this gym. Some Equipment is a little inefficient to modem standards and my lift was effected. That said, they have better Olympic lifting equipment than other gyms are likely to have. And their cardio area has some really cool toys. I would give them 3 starts except for one major flaw that I take to be a sign of bigger issues, the sauna is set to 160°... Ive never seen one that low, I try to get closer to 220°. It shows me they are willing to cut customer experience to save some expenses.

Do NOT go here. They will rip you off. I had to pay for 4 months of gym time because they told me I could cancel by calling in, which I did, only to be harassed daily after that by their collection agency because I didnt write in. NO ONE ever told me that I had to write in to cancel when I went to cancel in person. They just told me I had to call in to an automated service to cancel which I did. They harassed me daily for over a month before I broke down and paid. I never got any response when I asked them to stop. Low down, no good, scam artists. If I could give 0 stars, I would. SCAM!!!!

This is by far the worst gym in the world!!!! I worked out there twice and I got sued for 300 bucks because I never came in and gave them a written note why I was canceling Let me remind you I was on a month-to-month agreement I never signed a contract or anything! The equipment is completely outdated and the reason I never went back was because the lady that worked in the daycare center brought her son to work. And he was all up in my daughters face she was under 2 years old and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable! I reported them to the BBB!

My fiance and I joined recently on a family membership plan, and Olympic Gym has been excellent so far! I have never felt uncomfortable, but welcomed instead. There is every piece of equipment you could wish for and plenty of space. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I cant imagine going to a franchise gym again at this point. Ive just loved the sense of community this gym has to offer. Additionally, the great pool, steam room, and sauna are my favorite end to a workout. I just dont know how I lived without this relaxation before now.

Out of all the gyms Ive been to this was my favorite. Friendly staff, tanning, great equipment, power lifting room and team, a steam room and sauna thats always working, never ever to busy, always has parking, great juice bar, broken equipment gets fixed fast in house, equipment is regularly inspected, the list is endless. They put our local 24 hour fitness to shame! Unfortunately I moved so Olympic is to far for me to commute to every day.

SCAM !!!! STAY AWAY!! Worst gym I have ever been to. They outsource payments to another company in Arkansas to prolong payments and membership fees. Poorly maintained and terrible service. Try to use their "cancelation" phone number before you enroll with them. You will see there is no way to cancel by phone.. or even in person. What dirtbags. No way to cancel. Its a scam beware. They also delete poor ratings on their yelp.

Terrible gym, not clean, customer service is terrible. Do not sign a contract if you do go here. I moved out of gresham to inner south east a couple months after my membership started and they would not let me out of my contract because I didnt move more than 25 miles out. I havent steppes foot in that disgusting place for over 6 months but they take the money out of my account....

Maybe it is the times I have been here but it is always empty. The cardio equipment is terrible. Not gym quality for sure and every machine Squeaks or catches" which is annoying and distracting. Weight room is okay but I prefer a open floor plan.... They have family time but 2 hours on Saturday and 2 hours on Sunday (during church hours) are not very useful for our family.

I can see how some of the other reviews might think this club looks a little run down but I really liked it. Every piece of equipment you have ever seen is in this gym and some new stuff you probably have not.The electronic range monitoring equipment upstairs was new to me and Ive been to a lot of gyms. Overall, a great gym and I would join if I lived here.

This is the kind of gym that goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you are looking for a family feel, instead of a corporate environment, then this is the place for you. It is a family owned business. They really care about their members and the staff seem happy to be there...that goes a long way.
