We visited for breakfast 8/10/2017 after reading great reviews on yelp. Atmosphere pleasant/staff attentive/food warm and tasty. However felt taste of food ok/portions skimpy. We had French country eggs served already on small salad like plate covering barely 1/2 of plate along with 1 slice sourdough bread for 10$. Felt this was definitely overpriced for portion size. Maybe if u add pancakes as side? We also had 3 stack pancakes which were ok. The French press coffee was good. I had asked for cream with, but was forgotten. Then wanted some jelly for toast to find smuckers jelly in package. This annoyed me b/c u guys have on back tshirts "buy local" yet ?smuckers for my toast. Why go to all the trouble to bake own bread and use packaged preserves. I know you have fresh preserves in area. Also all baked goods covered in plastic wrap suggesting not fresh baked. I feel the restaurant should visit places like Original Pancake House in Twin City area or even Norse Nook in your area. They have good corner on portion size for $. We enjoy visiting new places. Im sorry but would not suggest your restaurant.

Since discovering this gem, my husband and I go there for breakfast every weekend. My best friend and I also meet there regularly during the week for lunch. The staff is super friendly, the food and pastries, pies, cookies, granola, fruit tarts -- everything is great. And dont forget about the French Press. If you like strong coffee, the press is awesome and large enough to share with a friend. Weve recommended several friends and family to eat here and theyre all hooked!

Locally owned and operated, serving fresh ingredients sourced as close to Eau Claire as possible, The French Press is a little known gem in our city. The interior of the restaurant is on the cozy side although the table spacing is adequate for private conversation. The staff is superb, service is efficient, and it is a very family friendly atmosphere. Parking can be difficult during peak dining hours, but is well worth it!

My first visit to the French Press was mostly a positive event. The quiche & coffee were amazing. However, I bought a sticky bun to take home for later & it was really undercooked. I ended up throwing half of it away because it was still all doughy in the middle. I think next time Ill skip the sweet treat :(

Great food. I had the artichoke and spinach quiche with parmesan, so good! My wife had lemon ricotta pancakes and we shared an apricot scone. Yum! The carmel mocha coffee was delicious. We will have to visit again to try more options. Little expensive but all the food was fresh and great tasting.

Stopped for lunch & we had a Tarragon Chicken Salad sandwich & the Normandy sandwich (mozzarella, cheddar, apple & bacon grilled) plus a iced latte & iced Americano. All of it was excellent!! Place was clean & bright and staff friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

If youre in the mood for a cozy cafe, this is your place! While the food, in general, leaves much to be desired, the coffee holds great value and the pastries are delicious!

Fantastic food and coffee/espresso. Great prices for the gourmet foods you receive. Menu changed often and seasonally but the favorites stay.

So good. Had the lemon ricotta pancakes. Fabulous. Daughter had eggs hollandaise. She gave that a 3 star. But pancakes were best ever.
