I bought a twelve year old car and had no idea what all it was going to need. I took it to Aamco in Irondale. I thought the worst thing that could be wrong is the transmission, so I started there. These folks checked my car from one end to the other and listed everything that it needed (which turned out to be--not much!) and then made a list for me from most important to items that could wait. They serviced the transmission for me after explaining to me why it was going to be okay to do it. Id heard horror stories about servicing transmission, but they explained to me why. They told me how it all works together and why transmissions fail. Okay. This is a modern world and Im a very intelligent woman. They told me everything so that I could understand exactly what they meant. Now I know more about my car. Thankfully, its in great shape. It will continue to be in great shape thanks to these folks!

I CANT BELIEVE WHAT A GREAT AUTO SHOP W/ NOT ONLY GREAT MECHANICS, BUT GREAT SERVICE INSIDE TOO. I thought for sure I was looking at a new transmission, but Mr. Jimmy showed me how it was on the engine side, NOT the transmission. He methodically went thru the process of tuning, replacing the Map Air Flow, and one new motor mount. My bill was still over $800....But it wasnt the $2500 I thought I thought I was looking at (the truth is they could have told me thats what is was and i would have believed it and paid them). I have since asked about pricing from other shops for what the did do and been told its anywhere from $850 - $925. So not only were the completely honest, but they were the east expensive I could have found. Thank you Jimmy Aiken ( I believe is the owner) for running such a clean, honest repair shop!

This shop should get a 10 Star Rating - they could have had a lot more of my hard earned schekles, but my issue turned out to be a simple vacuum leak in the motor compartment. I would have paid 10 times what they charged unknowingly. Jimmy and his team are true professionals and have restored my faith in the Auto Repair Business. I had the chance to meet Jimmy when picking up my car. I watched the way he interacted with other customers and his employees. What a relief to know there are still honest men around. I will continue to recommend AAMCO to friends and family

I dont know about drag racing cars but I do know that AAMCO fixed my Volvo and did it at a great price. Especially compared to the dealership. And there were other shops that wouldnt even look at a Volvo, and the dealership wanted nearly 30% more money. The dealership was quoting a new transmission before they even looked at the car! How would they know. I did check AAMCO pricing and it was in line with everyone else. And Craig was great - and he came in on a Sunday to let me get my car because I had been out of town. This is a good shop with good people.

Theres no better place to take your vehicle for service or repairs. Any time my transmission starts acting weird, I take it down to Aamco. Theyre prompt, fair and friendly. I do not trust my transmission needs to any other company. Ive tried all of the local and all the chain stores for transmission work and none of them can compare to the level of professionalism, quality of work and excellent customer service that you will find at Aamco in Irondale.

I still dont have a review as for their abilities as far as car repair, because I still dont have my vehicle back. However, I can say that their customer service is severely lacking. They are rude, and unprofessional. If youre told a timeframe, they should stick to it unless there is a reason it cant be done in that timeframe. And then when you call to inquire just how much longer it will be past the stated deadline. They are rude and unhelpful.

Aamco goes above and beyond in not only their dedication to repair work but also with helping the community. Embarrassingly I forgot my bank card one day and barely had the nerves to ask a manager for a little bit of oil so my car wouldnt burn up. Robert (manager) threw a few quarts in it without even thinking twice. You can tell that its a sincere car repair shop with sincere employees. 5 stars!

Good service. I thought it was transmission (that I had fixed at another AAMCO) but it turned out to be a air flow senser. They said they could clean it instead of replace it so it only cost about fifty bucks total. Honest people. They also checked my fluids and tires. Id go back if I lived over there.
