Pros: The gym itself is great. I decided to join after wondering if I need to push myself harder. Lots of amenities and you can get a quality workout. Classes are included with membership. Love the sauna and free weights. For the most part, staff remember who you are. I enjoy working work there, at least before the cons. Cons: Oooh, boy. Where do I start? Ok, the contract thing sucks. National fitness does their billing. Just Google them and youll see what I mean. I also have a personal training contract with them. I felt pressured to sign it, since I have a lot of weight to lose. My actual trainer (John) is knowledgeable and great, but boy do they have office issues. They tried to first switch my trainer without my consent, twice. I was promised refunds that never happened. Then the guy they had me exercise with gave me a soda when I nearly passed out. I found this highly inappropriate for a gym trainer. I also overheard a female trainer nod in agreement when her client told her she tried to cut her calories to 1000 a day. She said "Great!!" Bad advice!!! Ive been eating too little for years; I know. Fast forward to my new problem: I had a high speed car crash. No more gym for a while according to the emergency room doctor, my follow up doctor, and my physical therapist. No one plans to have a car crash. So I call the gym to suspend (not cancel!) my personal training sessions for three months. I was told to submit documentation and to not get national fitness involved. I faxed them 8 pages of documentation. I was charged. I also faxed the same documentation to national fitness and was told I could not cancel because I didnt send the proof of disability form. I told her I didnt want to cancel, but suspend. She said, "same difference. You still need to send that form." Never mind I had an actual letter on letterhead stating that I should not have personal training. That wasnt enough. Although, Omni told me on the phone that a letter would be fine. I argued that sending that form should be unnecessary given I already faxed them my doctors excuse and 7 other pages of documentation from my actual doctors offices fax machine. They charged me another month again this morning. I have left a few messages with Omni for the manager. No callback yet. In addition, my trainer is not even there according to the guy who answers the phone. Hes on hiatus. If they cut this crap out they would be a decent gym. I will continue to work out there, but I regret the personal training contract and would not recommend it.

Horrible experience! Unfortunately this site is not allowing me to post my entire review, but you can find it on other review sites. To sum it all up, I was accused of cheating the system by the manager, Derek, because his employee(s) issued me a free pass when I went to sign up. This was done as Peter wanted to get me an affordable monthly rate as I had just been laid off. Apparently this upset Derek as he said he told me before that I couldnt have any free passes. This is untrue as the only time he and I really ever spoke was when Omni mailed me a 3-month free promotion over the summer and he told me that I really shouldnt be qualified for it as I worked out under my dads membership before. Less than a week of me using my pass, Derek storms into the gym (he wasnt even working that evening) and walks up to me and my group of friends sitting on the couches. An instructor was also present. He starts yelling at me and belittling me in front of everything. He wouldnt even listen to what I had to say. I was so embarrassed and shocked that this was even going on. I didnt understand what I had done to deserve this, and I had no idea why he was SO angry. He continued to yell at me, and even went as far as to mock me. I kept my cool as I was not going to stoop to his level and yell back, which is obviously what he wanted me to do. Please find another gym to attend. There are plenty of others in our city, and Im sure their managers wont act so unprofessionally, rude and angry.

I moved here about a year ago and went into Omni. The staff was really nice, but didnt seem to care if I signed up or not. I worked out for a couple weeks there before anyone said anything to me about getting a membership. I got pricing and looked around for other gyms, but there is nowhere else that compares. This is the ONLY place in Mobile that is comparable to the type of upscale health clubs I find in most bigger cities. They have plenty of weights, the newest LifeFitness equipments, a huge & clean facility, a cardio movie theater, and your OWN tv on all of the other cardio stuff. I can buy all my protein shakes and supplements right from the juice bar. They are also the only club left in Mobile that has a private area for just women, so my husband and I can both work out there and have everything we need, plus drop off the kids at their in sight childcare. I can even run next door and tan at club sun while they watch my 2 year old. I finally signed up and their prices were very reasonable compared to what I am used to. I was told they got new ownership a couple months after I joined, and they just keep making more and more improvements! They have really cracked down on bringing guests in though. All of these complaints about billing are not an issue if you just pay your $30 a month. The billing company didnt even charge us when my husband had surgery.

They are lying rapists. I asked for a day pass to check the gym out. The "manager" told me it was $20 and that they offered a $30 trial month. I paid the $30 like a logical person would. I was a member of the fayetteville nc omni and loved it. The "manager" told me he was part owner of that gym and was from fayetteville. I walked into the gym and it was so dark. No sky lights just boring office artificial lighting. After a short workout I left very disappointed that this gym had the omni name. I never returned I found out a month later that the "manager" lied to me. No one at the fayetteville nc omni knew his name. I checked my bank statement and found out he signed me up for a 2 year contract without telling me. Never gave me paperwork. Asked me to sign the screen for my $30 payment. Little did I know I was authorizing my account to be autodrafted. When I called to talk to "the manager" he told me I would need to come get a form and have my doctor fill it out stating that "I am unable to work out due to health or obesity reasons". What an a-hole. I worked in timeshare and Ive known salesmen with cocaine addictions that are more honest than this lying rapist. Dont waste your money.

This place is a fantastic place to workout! I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first (especially with the signature of a 2 year contract), but I can honestly say this gym is the best one Ive ever joined. Ive trained at two other gyms before (Anytime Fitness and Snap). Both were ok; the staff were nice but they didnt genuinely care about your success. Omni is different. After signing up, youre scheduled a consultation with a personal trainer and a nutritionist to help you reach your fitness goals. The staff are friendly and always smiling, the smoothie bar is excellent, and best of all, fitness classes are included with your membership (no extra charge!!). The restrooms/lockers are the cleanest and nicest facilities Ive ever seen in a gym, the cardio cinema is awesome (time flies while youre working out and watching a movie at the same time), and there is a womens only exercise room, which is a nice change of pace if youre self-conscious at first. Trust me--this gym is the best one in Mobile (hands down)!
