If you rent from these people, you will be making the worst decision of your life. They lied to me about when the house I rented was built. They told me it was built in the 70s, it was built in 1947. This matters because the 70s are when insulation inside walls became a thing. Once summer hit and the AC got the point where it was leaking coolant and freezing up, they refuse to do anything. They will "get someone on it right away" and no one shows up until about the 3rd week of you complaining.. My AC has been leaking coolant for easily 8 months now. This has to be against the law. When we moved in we noticed there were mouse droppings in various parts of the house. We informed the office about this and of course "theyd get right on it" Were nearing our move out and still have mice eating our food. They have cut my grass maybe once since I moved in despite it being in the lease that the lawn is their responsibility. All but one of the office workers is exceptionally rude. I had one woman tell me I couldnt pay my rent because the right person wasnt there, nor was the right person there the next day. They then tried to assess a late fee because that was the only times I could make it to their office during the payment period. I refuse to use the drop box for the next list item. They lost my rent payment three times and attempted to make me pay it again and with a late fee. Luckily I kept every receipt from when I paid rent (make sure to ask for one because they wont give you one if you dont). It actually turned out on one of these months that they owed ME money. This has got to be one of the shadiest rental agencies in town and thats saying a lot in a college town. I cant wait to see what types of scams they attempt to pull when its time to move out.

Im not one for reviewing things online, but I am inclined to do so now because the way Blakeney treats their renters is nothing short of appalling. I signed a lease in March 2011 on a house that was hit by the April 2011 tornado. My lease wasnt until August, and Blakeney reassured us that the house would be liveable by then. WRONG. Upon entering the house in August, we were met with glass, debris, broken windows, and dead animals (chipmunks, bugs, you name it). Blakeney sent someone to clean the glass, but the rest was left up to us. I had a sheet of plexiglass duct taped to a window frame as my bedroom for months because Blakeney failed to have someone put in a proper window. The house actually is in really good shape now because WE took the time to give it the TLC it needed after the storm. Now, Blakeney wont give us our deposit back because "the house isnt in the condition in which it was at the beginning of the lease." Correct. The house is in MUCH better condition, and Blakeney is $1500 richer for it. For your sanity and for your healths sake, rent elsewhere.

Renting from this company was the WORST decision me and my roommates ever made. They gave away the house we were supposed to be renting to someone else, and by that time we were stuck with another house of theirs unless we wanted to pay more than we could afford. They never came to fix anything we asked them to fix, they showed our house multiple times without telling us first which goes against the lease, they lost checks, and now that weve moved out and they cant seem to rent the house we lived in, they are charging us for the things they never came to fix when we first moved in. They went through 4 office people in the year we lived there and each one left quicker than the last. They are shady and are only trying to screw college students out of money. This company needs to be shut down.

DONT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR (but Im doing it because you have too)! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BUSINESS! horrible, rude, uneducated people! They scam you and do NOT know how to run a business. The only reason they stay in business is because they charge you for all THEIR mistakes. We had AWFUL sewage/plumbing problems and ceiling leaks and they never cared to take care of it unless we hounded them for days! And do not count on getting your security deposit back in full. We left the place SPOTLESS and they gave us 400 less of what we deserve. And you wont get even that back unless you hound them! This company needs to be put out of business! They are lazy, horrible people who just bump off innocent peoples money. Im sorry for all the people who signed leases with them.... best of luck to you!

This company will lie to you! point, blank and period! If they owe you Money, forget about getting it in any reasonable amount of time! IF and i do say IF they pay you, its ONLY after you have hounded them relentlessly and threatened them with court action. The constant lies and broken promises makes this company a BAD one to even consider! NEVER ALLOW THEM TO MAKE PROMISES ABOUT FUEL! You will wind up having to pay the fuel company back yourself or face charges after they break their promise to work out monies owed in fuel allowances in exchange for money they owe you!

Do not do business with this company! They will keep your deposit and still bill you the entire amount even after telling you the deposit will be deducted from your contracted agreement! Also beware of the Fuel scam! Telling you that any amount owed can be arranged by fuel reimbursements, then claiming they never said any such thing!

Avoid business with this company. They tell you lies over the phone and keep your deposit money even though the contract clearly states that part of the deposit is refundable if certain criteria are met. THEY RIP THEIR CLIENTS OFF and then give you the run-around when you try to get information!
