Yes the view is great but that is all there is good about this place. Last night my wife and I went hoping to have dinner and drinks. We took a table and awhile after, three people arrived and sat next to us. It was obvious from the hugging and syrupy greetings that they were personal friends of the female owner. We had been in there a few times before and this owner is always the same; crabby and tense so she was not “having a bad day” as another reviewer very generously described her. When we sat down we also noticed a lot of food all over the floor but let that go. We should have taken that as a sign and left right there and then. We ordered our drinks and two appetizers to start, a charcuterie plate and a salad. The table of her friends next to us then ordered theirs, drinks, a salad course and entrees. Long story short, by the time the table next to us had received their drinks and salads and were actually finishing up their hot entrees, we had still not gotten our appetizers! I finally told the waitress to cancel the food and bring me the check for the drinks. That was when the fun started. The owner, this overweight blowsy middle aged woman, came over to our table with a major attitude, demanding to know “what was going on”. When I told her why we were cancelling our food, she began to argue with lame excuses as to why the appetizers never came, and then began to whine about her personal problems, specifically that someone she knew died today. I pointed out that this didn’t seem to be affecting her taking good care of her buddies at the next table. Once she saw she had lost the argument she actually began to call us “losers” saying “oh, poor you. So, you didn’t eat fast enough, so what?” This was a laugh coming from someone of her weight. When we told, her we were going to put a review up about her treatment of us she sneered “Bring it on”. Who needs this garbage? I predict her business is going under anyway. This was a Saturday night and the place was half empty. When we left, and drove around town looking for another place to eat, EVERY restaurant in town was packed.

Stopped in for a drink after a mid afternoon hike with my husband And parents last week. My parents have never been there and They wanted to try something new. Hoping to bring friends to different places when they were in town. What can I say thats nice.....? Decorated beautifully....amazing View ! However service was horrible. Sat at the bar. No one in the place but one other person ....bartender ignored us for almost 5 +min and she was behind the bar ! No hi , no acknowledgement. We were laughing and talking ...still ignored us. Until my father said lets leave. She heard that ....then came over. We each ordered a beer, , tried to talk to her about the store attached to the bar with the door wide open but no lights on. I Asked if it was open. (3 in the afternoon) Looked like a fun girl shop! Her comment "not yet" and walked away...awkward, weird, was all I could think ....I Asked about food , she never acknowledged me which I knew she heard. ...then a few minutes later (again crabby) dropped a menu in front of me. One menu for 4 people. Needless to say we paid for our drink and left. Didnt order anything. Crazy beautiful place but sad it wont stay in business long with that service. She obviously was having a bad day. No wonder the place was empty. And FYI we all assumed she was the owner as she matched the person in some of the framed pictures on the piano. Cant blame employees on this one.

Let me get this out of the way first - I will try this place again. The food was good, and the view was beautiful. But the staffing needs serious help. We arrived - reservation for 6 in tow - at 6. We did not eat until 7:30. Food order was probably given at around 6:15. Drinks took forever - and it took multiple mentions to get a refill on non alcholhics. The table behind us took just as long. Other people straight up and left after only getting glasses of wine for a half hour. Look guys, your food is good, edging on great, but you have serious staffing issues you need to work out. And judging from some of the other posts on here, this is not a unique experience. Youve got the food. Youve got the VU. Now get the staff. Hire a (or any?) Managers who have had food handling experience. Itll make the world and youll see sales improve from it. I will update this review when I eventually make my way back to the VU.

OMG I just saw the review by Sam McCall and had to write We were there and witnessed the treatment the owner gave this poor couple. We were having trouble getting served ourselves and both our dinner and drinks came wrong. They did fix it but it took forever. We were blown away when we saw the scene the owner was trying to create with calling them names and making hand gestures. She really was acting like trailer trash but the customers handled themselves with class. It was our fist time here and we will never go back. Not only is the owner tacky but the service was terrible, food only average, and the place was pretty dirty. Also the furnishings were uncomfortable and odd, like a mish mash of cast offs from a failed estate sale or thrift shop. Definitely NOT the standard you see everywhere else in Fountain Hills.

I had a really hard time rating this with one star, because the view is spectacular and the food was good. However, we arrived on a Saturday at 1pm, not one other customer was in the restaurant, and we were greeted by someone coming out of the salon next to the restaurant, almost like she was annoyed that we wanted to dine there. Our whole dining experience took over 2 hours. The service was horrible, and the waitress was unfriendly and obviously was also working simultaneous at the salon next door. It took 30 minutes to receive menus or water, and then another 45 minutes before our food came out. I am not sure how the experience might have been if we went during dinner time, but I am sorry to say that we will never go back or recommend this restaurant because of the deplorable service.

Absolutely disappointed, very rude and inattentive waitress/hostess. Took 20 minutes to get a menu and drink order. Then the wine showed up with lipstick on the rim of the glass. Ordered 2 appetizers, 30 minutes later they show up. Meanwhile we never saw the waitress at all. Then the bus boy delivered the bill and within seconds the waitress magically appeared. This was the worst dining experience that I have had in Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area. I will only return when I hear that the management and/or owner changes. Great view, but I can get the same view from the Frys parking lot.

This is an amazing spa with a beautiful view...the sunset is breathtaking with the view that overlooks the city..amazing. The owner/mgr is wonderful and the staff are all very attentive. You can go simply for the Spa or get some food while you are there. I have been there a number of times and it is no where close to my home in far East Mesa, but it is worth the drive every time. There is also a great restaurant (on the pricey side) next store if you are looking to make an entire day/night out of it with friends or a date.
