I took my car in for a transmission rebuild among other things that needed to be fixed. I ended up spending $3300 for all the fixes, and the turn-around time was excellent! But unfortunately I ran into an issue that nearly cost me an additional $1200 due to issues the mechanic caused. Once on the road, I had to drive the vehicle a good 50 miles on the freeway the next morning. I heard a high pitched whining sound when I started slowing down, and I noticed that it sounded like a buzzing noise when driving slower. Turned out my transfer case was acting up, not to mention my 4x4 selector was not showing my car in either 2HI, 4HI or 4LO. I switched to 4HI and the noise stopped. I switched back and the noise started up again. I took the car back to the shop as soon as possible and they said they did not find anything wrong with the transfer case and that it works fine. I found that hard to believe as that night I had the same issues again (and for the rest of the week). Since I did not want to spend any additional money, I checked out Google for possible answers. The easiest and more common answer was the vacuum switch for the transfer case needed to be replaced. I took a look and LO AND BEHOLD, the switch was plugged in backwards and not all the way. The plug is keyed, so its not hard to see it was installed incorrectly. Once I flipped the plug around and installed it correctly, My 4x4 MAGICALLY worked and there was no more noise coming from driving in 2HI. Had I not found this issue out, a transfer case rebuild could have cost me at least $1200. I feel like the mechanic and/or shop was being a bit shady plugging in my switch backwards which could have caused sever damage, not to mention "professional" mechanics found "no issue" with my transfer case, yet I found the issue just by looking at the vacuum plug. Great transmission work, but I feel like they will suck every dime they can out of you by causing other issues. I should not have to return to the shop after a day of having the car, just to be told that there are no more issues when I clearly heard and found the issue myself. Otherwise this review would have been 5 stars.

Never write a review. I was hesitent to bring the mercedes to AAMCO due to poor reviews in the US. I typically do my own car repairs and maintainence, but way too hot in AZ to do the transmission flush in my garage. Brought in my 2003 Mercedes SLK320 for a tranny filter, flush and replace the infamous adapter plug which leaks. I called and Mike was very familiar with the adpater plug o ring leak. He gave me a fair quote for the work. I bought the part at mercedes dealershhip for 18 bucks. Mike and his team completed the job and saved the old parts for inspection. I had a slight leak I noted the next day, possible bad adapter from Mercedes, went back to mercedes and got another adapter, Mike and his team replaced this at no charge, cleaned up the area and verified it was no longer leaking. His team even cleaned up the poor harnessing mercedes put together under the tranny. There is one quality issue I do note, but I do not blame this on Mike or his team, this ALL falls on the ower of the shop who is not supplying his team with a confortable working environment. The temp was 115 outside and the poor technicians have to work in the terrible heat do to poor AC in the shop, they are forced to work with the doors open, this only leads to inefficiency in the work place and mistakes made, this ALL falls on the owner, he needs to get out of his comfortable house and work a few days at his shop while its over 110 degrees outside, see how comfortable he is and effecient he works !!! besides feeling sorry for the techs, I would recomend THIS AAMCO location, I will use them again

I brought my Truck here to be evaluated. They test drove it and hooked it up to their computers and still couldnt give me a solid quote. Just an open quote saying it will cost this much to take it out and reinstall. We wont know until we take it apart. They also told me that there were eletrical issues and wanted to charge me 100.00 plus parts cost just to fix there so called eletrical problems. Every transmission expert Ive spoken to said any transmission mechanic would know what was wrong and they were trying to scam me. That its the oldest trick in the book. That I would have probably paid more than 3000 by the time I walked out of there. I went to a place in Phoenix, PETES TRANSMISSION and paid 1400.00 for a replacement transmission with a 3 year warranty. My truck was completed in 2 hours. Truck drives excellent now and turns out, there wasnt any eletrical problems like AAMCO lied about. Also, this AAMCO only rebuilds ur transmission, they dont replace. And their warranty is only 12 months on their rebuilds.

Hello. My name is Sean and I promised the guy at the shop I would write a review for the work performed on my truck at AAMCO. I almost got too lazy to write it, but as an Army veteran I had to keep my promise. Integrity :) Anyway, I am skeptical whenever and where ever I have mechanical work done, especially if its with a service I never used Before. After picking up my truck yesterday, I am happy with the service provided. Honestly, I never knew my clutch could be this smooth. The price was fair and competitive and was less expensive than two other mechanics I received quotes from. One business who shall go nameless, wanted to charge me double what I paid at AAMCO. The other shop where I have been going for 14 years, quoted me a figure $200.00 more than AAMCO. I just wanted to let people know that and thank the guys for their hard work and great results. I will definitely go back to them and I recommend them as well. Have a good day.

Ive been going to this shop since it opened approximately 5 years ago. Mitchell, the manager, has the highest integrity with regard to recommending service and helping customers. For example, I had to get an alignment at another shop since Aamco didnt have the equipment. The other shop recommended $1100 in repairs, providing me with extensive documentation and diagnostics. I took the car back to Aamco at a later date due to a broken tail light, gave Mitchell the documentation and asked him to look into it. He called me the next day and said I could come pick the car up. He said none of the work was necessary, and although one valve had a minor leak it wouldnt be an issue for a while, and I should watch for drips on the driveway in the future. Plus, he threw in the tail light fix for free. In all my years, Ive never dealt with a more outstanding shop.

I finally found a great place to take my cars!!! I first found Mitchell Ryan a few years ago at an AAMCO in north Mesa... I was having problems with my car and after several different shops tried taking advantage of me, someone told me to go to Mithells shop. My car was fixed right away and the problem never reoccurred. I sold the car about 18 months ago and got a used Lexus... after the 90 day warranty from the dealer ran out, I had a problem and of course the dealer wouldnt take care of it.. I searched for Mitchell again and found he had moved to the 2319 S Val Vista location of AAMCO. He is now the manager of this location. Again, he fixed my car completely, and provided fast, courteous and complete service. I am indeed indebted to him. I have recommended this location to all my friends and co-workers.
